How to make and use customised DataSource
Hi Gurus. If we are not making cubes for Inventory etc for which DS is already available, how can we create data sources in order to load the desired data in BW.means if Database fields are entirely different
kind regards
rajeshHi,
Customised extractors are called Generic extracters.
Usage:
1. When the standard extractors are not supporting the extraction what you need. If SAP does not have a standard extractor for your need to get data from R3, you would have to go for generic extractor.
2. If you create a custom object say by combining certain base tables in R3 say custom tables ZTAB1 and ZTAB2. These two tables are not SAP provided tables and there will not be any standard extractors. So cases like this you will have to go for generic extractors.
3. FI-SL requires generic extractors.
How:
You have to use RSO2 transaction and you can also set delta based on, one of the three characteristics such as timestamp, calday or pointer (a sequence no).
once you create it and activate it. The extractor will be available in ROOSOURCE - (table in R3 where all the data sources are available).
Steps
Log on sap R/3.
Step 1. create a table or view for generic extraction in se11.
Step 2. Goto t-code RSO2
Step 3. Here u have to decide whether to extract transaction data or master data attributes or texts.
Step 4. suppose if u have opted for transaction data, then give name in the column ex:ztd_m(data source name)
Step 5. select create button, this will take u to another screen.
Step 6. Here u have to decide from which application component u r extacting data.Ex: SD,MM,..
Step 7. in this screen u have to fill short disciption, medium, long( these r mandatory).
Step 8. then U have to Table name or view name which u have created in se11.
Step 9. I f u want to maintain generic delta then u can select generic delta in top left hand side corner.
Step 10. in next screen u have to give some field which is primary key.
step 11. here u to specify whether time stamp or cal day or numeric pointer depending on u r requirement.
step 12. then u have to specify whether new status for changed records or additive delta.
If u choose additive delta ,then u have to load data to infocube or ods object.
If u choose new status for changed records, then u to load data to ods object only.
Step 13. then save it.
Step 14. then logon to sap bw ,then replicate the data source then as usuall.

How to send mail to distribution list and another table list
Hi
I am facing a problem. I need to send mail to the user who is creating the SO/PO and a distribution list.
Problem is only one thing can be used at the same time. ie either Distribution list or list from internal table.
How can we use both in 1 function module. Like it should call the internal table and then the distribution list for sending the mail .

How to create and use dynamic queue in JMS
Plz tell me how to create and use a dynamic queue in jms and can reciever file lookup it as it lookup any server configurred queue(written in the server).
Hi,
We can use Azure File services to do this, for more information, please have a look at this article:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsazurestorage/archive/2014/05/12/introducing-microsoft-azure-file-service.aspx. The Azure File service exposes file shares using the standard SMB 2.1 protocol. Applications running in Azure can now easily share files between
VMs using standard and familiar file system APIs like ReadFile and WriteFile.

Formication : How to install and use it
Hi,
I need some help. I would like to install and use the Formication CGI but I don't find any documentation usable for someone who never installed any CGI
Does someone use it and can teach me how to install and use it ? Or maybe there is a documentation somewhere ?
Thanks for any help>I thought it was something well known here.
I'd never heard of it before.
Find here the message from the Mac OS X Server Mailing list where I found it.
Hi all..
We are currently moving: from WebStar / Lasso 6.x / FMS 5.5 to
Mac OSX Server / Apache / Lasso.850 / FMSA 8.
On our WebStar webserver we used FlexMail to handle e-mails sent from a
html-form, unless we wanted databases/Lasso to get involved.
I understand FlexMail cannot be used on Apache so I have been looking around
and searched the list for any tool to do the same job.
--> What tool to send e-mails directly from web-forms
with a reasonable option to format the e-mail and
generate a response page.
Henning, most of the people that transition from WebSTAR to iTools Apache use Formication.
Formication is a Perl version of Flexmail, so it has all the features of Flexmail, plus more. It was designed by one of the developers of the original Flexmail.
When you convert from WebSTAR to Apache you can keep your script intact.
With iTools, all you need to do is to add the action:
Flexmail /cgi-bin/formication.pl
and the .flx handler,
and the scripts run unchanged.
>I also found that there is an invisible file
inside. It's a .htaccess file
I'd totally missed that, and it's likely to be the
critical link.
yes... I supposed it was something important but.... well hidden...
By default, as shipped by Apple, .htaccess files are
ignored. You need to explicity enable then in
/etc/httpd/httpd.conf
Both 'Action' and 'AddHandler' (the two directives in
the .htaccess file) require FileInfo override for the
directory. Therefore, at the very least you need to
add:
<pre class=command><Directory /path/to/your/form>
AllowOverride FileInfo
Directory></pre>
to your httpd.conf so that apache will read the
.htacess file.
Alternatively, since you have to edit httpd.conf
anyway, you might just want to add those directives
to the <Directory> block, which will save Apache
having to read the file each time the form is used.

How to generate and use Matlab(R2007) .dll's in Labview
Is there a step-by-step example on how to generate and use Matlab(R2007) .dll's in Labview.
Our experimenal hardware is LabView-controlled and we want to pass
images/2d intensity arrays to a more complex matlab program that will
return an array of extracted data which we want to use in LabView again.
Thank you
CarstenI recommend having a wrapper created around the matlab dll that converts the datatypes for you. There is a lot of fooling around with pointers involved which is very difficult in LabVIEW. btw, this got much more complicated after Matlab 7. Essentially, you need to convert your inputs into mxArrays, and then add those mxArrays to an mxArray list that you pass by pointer into the matlab dll. You also need to create a mxArray list for the outputs from the dll which you will need to extract your data out of before converting it back into a LabVIEW supported datatype. It's a big hassle. We do this pretty often, but we have created a c library that handles all the conversions, so it is feasible for us. Unfortunately, I can't share the library, but hopefully this information will help you get where you want to be.
Like I said, it would be easier if you can just get a c developer to write a wrapper for you to keep it simple in LabVIEW. Alternatively, you might try getting your m-code to work in Mathscript.

How to control and use the search criteria values "%" ?
Hi,
When I searched some information in my employee name. I filled in search criteria values "%" and selected the "Go" button to see the result. But I got errors that the search criteria values should not begin with a "%" or "_" for at least one if the listed fields.
How to control and use the search criteria values "%" ?
Thanks,
sinoleesinolee,
These kinds of details are mentioned in Dev guide. Always have a look into dev guide before posting.

How often do you use the List bar to Navigate
Hi Ppl,
I'm trying to build a custom sequence editor. In the Sequence Editor while the executions are run the sequence file view tab is open. So most of the time I use the tab's to navigate between sequence view and execution view. However in the full featured UI the sequence view is not visible while executing. So we have to navigate using the list bar.
I wanted to know will it be better to implement the way sequence editor displays the sequence view while executing. I can use a combo box to navigate to various sequence files and executions within the respective views. How often you guys use the list bar to navigate ?
Thanks

Of course I have no idea what "isn't so great" means. Relative to what?
Is it worse than the current user search?
Is it better that the current user search but not as improved as the new forum search?
Is it just different?
Are the user search results better, but the interface is harder to use?
One thing could be improved. There should be a way to sort partial matches by the number of posts so inactive members don't clutter the first dozen pages of the search result. For example, if I search for "Dennis", I want him on top of that huge list. (many, many pages!)
If I search for "Dennis K" I still want partial matches, but currently there is no result if I do that. (Why does "Dennis" return many matches while "Dennis K" returns nothing (!!?), and "Dennis Knutson" again works????)
To answer your questions as best I can, the new user search is just different. The way that it presents information is different (you can check out Lithium's community to see what I mean). When I do a search, the user I expect to show up first does not necessarily show up first - in that way, it's about the same as your Dennis example. I think the current search works better for me because as an Admin I get the ability to search more fields.
On the plus side, you get the option to sort the user results by Login name (alphabetically), rank, posts, or registration date, all which could help you with finding Dennis.
So to summarize, I think the actual results will be similar with some added sort functionality. The user interface is very different, in more of a grid view as opposed to a list. I don't know that I would classify it as better or worse. That's a great wishy-washy answer, right?

How do I email a distribution list in Entourage?
I would like to share some of my distribution lists with friends.
How can I email the distribution list? I can't drag a group icon into the mail message like in Outlook.
Any help is appreciated.
JeremyThanks. I was hoping to find something other than Groups, because when you sync with a mobile device, it maps the groups to Categories in the device. This adds a lot of complexity to data and many mobile devices have some limitations on categories.
But thanks for the quick response!
