how to make DFF field mandatory in forms personalization based on another field ,and also user can put values in the DFF field.

Hi,
4 DFFs are enabled.
CASE1: when payment is voided DFF4 should be mandatory feild
CASE2: when user queries the voided payment , above DFF4 should be readonly or not editable
Unable to acheive both the cases with Forms Personalization.
When trying case2 error pops up saying null canvas.
Can you please provide some examples if you have any.
I can find any customizations on this form

Apologies for delayed response. Please find the below steps :
1) Extend ReviewCO (pkg - oracle.apps.per.selfservice.review.webui.ReviewCO)
2) In PFR – check button event is Submit then call function ( that check whether doc is attached or not )
3) Funtion returns True and False. If false display message.

Making a DFF field mandatory based on another field

We have a requirement where in we need to make a DFF field mandatory based on another field.
example:
DFF has two fields :
Filed1 : values 'Email', 'Fax'
Filed2
If 'Email' is selected in 'Field1' then Field2 should become mandatory.
Any inputs on this will be really helpful.

hi kumar3a,
recently, i spent considerable amount of time wracking my brain on a similar problem. the nearest i came to a solution was when i used a forms personalisation. mind you, forms personalisation will not work directly on the DFF window, so it has to be approached in a roundabout sort of way.
i got this information from an Oracle Support personnel - MOS Note 1078348.1.
i would start with the flexfield segment as "not required", and then using Forms Personalization, i would make it "required". i would try to figure out how to establish a condition where the previous 'required' flexfield segment's value is checked to see if this 'not required' segment needs to be made 'required'. in theory, this should solve the issue. i gave up on it because the forms personalisation would need to cover WHEN-VALIDATE trigger event, and we had close to 100 validations going on through other preexisting forms personalisations, which rendered it near impossible to employ this method.

Try this:
Have 2 iViews, 2 pages, 2 worksets, 2 usergroups (ug1 & ug2 (say))..
Also, you have to separate your news links in 2 folders (folder1 & folder2):
iView1 --> links from folder1 (for user of ug1)
iView2 --> links from folder2 (for user of ug2)

HI All,
How to make a column field input enabled or disabled based on another field value in a Table Control.
Here's the scenario:
I have a table control with two columns, KTOKK and LIFNR. Now for certain KTOKK, the LIFNR field should be editable and for certain KTOKK it should not be editable.
Eg., KTOKK = 0001 => LIFNR field is not editable.
KTOKK = ZKTO => LIFNR field is editable.
But these fields are in a table control.

Can't remember if there's an option in the flex definition form, as enable check box will cause the segment to not show if unchecked. If that's not the solutions, there's the flex definition call that may enable You to modify the flex definition on form launch, but You'll have to look on the flexfield's user guide as I'm not sure if read only can be applied to an individual segment or it's for all of them.

How to check old value in form personalization.

Hi All,
Could anybody please tell me how to check the old value in oracle forms using form personalization if someone is updating to someother value.
For example.
My Vendor Site Alternate name is XYZ
and someone has changed it to ABC, How could i check the old values before or after doing updates.
I don't want to write trigger for this.

How to make changes in HR Form using Form editor

I am new to hr-abap..And I am working on HR form editor..and I wanted to generate a pay-slip using the hr forms..I had copied the standard form..and I am making the changes into that..
I want to add my own customization into it..like I wanted to display total in words...also, i wanted to display a message at the end of my report..This message should be allowed to change to end user...like for eg..Some Seasonal greetings...
I am using Tcode pe51 to make changes in my form...
Please tell me how to go about and where to implement all these changes so that they will get displayed in my form...Its urgent...

When you go into HRFORM tcode, double click on your form name.
It will take you to Customization window where you can drag and drop all additional data yo want on form.
For designing and coding purpose click on the LAYOUT button on top of that window.
This will open the form in SMARTFORM.
Dont try to go directly as your Form name dont exist in Smartforms.

How to make data persist in form?

I've made multiple forms for a Web site. Each form is within its own module. The problem is the data entered into a form disappears as soon as the user shifts to another form (and consequently, another module). How to make the data persist in the form even if the user shifts away to another module? I've tried using a Model to hold the data but the data didn't stay in the text fields.

I thought ModuleLoader could only load one Module at a time, and unloaded the current Module when called to load the next Module. This app has only one ModuleLoader, which loads various modules as different states are called.
If the Model to hold the form data is in the shell application, how to wire each Model to each Form (assuming the forms are still in various modules)?

You can try to create a batch-file. For instance on WinNT create a CMD file. On Win95/98 create a batch file.
In that you can use (depending on where you've installed forms/ reports)
D:\orant\binf50run32.exe <user>/<password>@<database> <startform>.fmx

How to make a conditional required form item

I'm working with an old version of Dreamweaver (CS3) and I'm trying to create a user information registration form. I've got a field for a phone number and then a select box for phone type. I'd like to include an option for a second number and type, but I don't want to make it required. However, if the user enters a number there, I want the type selection box to be a required item. I'm just using the provided spry validation widgets, but I can't find that option anywhere. Is it possible to make that selection box required based upon whether or not the user has entered a value in another field?
