How to make edges of rollover button straight

I was using rollover pjc in my forms....
I am setting these properties of the buttons...
--> setting the 'label' property to [ROLLOVER]add
--> setting 'implementation class' property to
'oracle.forms.demos.enhancedItems.RolloverButton'
My rollover buttons are dislayed with rounded edges....
I want to make the edges of my rollover buttons
straight(like sqaure edges). please let me know how do i do that.
Thanks in advance

Judging by the source code of RolloverButton.java, it looks like that demo will always use rounded buttons.
If you want normal shaped buttons, then you should modify RolloverButton.java or create your own Java class based on it and change it. The change should be to not use setLeftmost(true) and setRightmost(true). By setting them to true you are telling the button to treat the button as if it's the leftmost or rightmost button, which will round that end (or both).

  • How to make a completely transparent button in Flash Builder

    I am making a mobile application, and I am wondering how to make a completely transparent button. I've tried using
    <s:Button x="-5" y="0" width="410" height="1504"
                                    skinClass="spark.skins.mobile.TransparentNavigationButtonSkin" click="navigator.pushView(Sun)"/>
    But it still has one line on the side. I need a way to make it completely transparent.
    Thanks,

    Try this alpha="0.001"
    Also add useHandCursor="true" and buttonMode="true" if you wish to have the hand cursor appear on hover.
    example  x="10" y="10" width="169" height="54" label="Button" alpha="0.001" useHandCursor="true" buttonMode="true"

  • How to make a custom form, buttons etc... please...

    I mean, how to make a form (for example, JFrame) with arbitrary form (geometry, for ex, round, oval, star like etc). I think you understand what i mean.
    Of course, i think i can use winApi, but it's only for windows. It doesn't suit for Java in this problem solution.
    That question also about cusomizing form of buttons, fields.. etc..
    i think, everything.
    What can java allows to cusomize and what not.
    Thanx!!

    I am just a learner and so i can just suggest you a strategy to implement Customized forms in JAVA. However i am sure that in practice it will work as far as Windows OS are concerned. Here is it:-
    The basic IDEA is to declare a native function in JAVA that makes JNI calls which will be further processed by Win32API and processed output will result into an elliptic or any polygonal shaped forms.
    To achieve declare some function as follows:
    public native void createEllipticalForm(formName formRefrance);
    create a Win32 Compiled DLL that manages this function as follows:
    (Mindwell, i havent stated what you call as pure-code but just a pseudo-code to the actual implementation)
    public native void createEllipticalForm(formName formRefrance)
    /* Search for the below stated Functions in Win32 API and work on
    them. I see a ray of success if you work with these functions properly.
    Further-more I assume that you are aware with concept of HANDLES */
    createEllipticRegion(); //WINDOWS.H
    showWindow(handleToTheForm); //WINDOWS.H
    Search for "createEllipticRegion() or showWindow()" on the GOOGLE to get the pure win32 API Code for Creating Customized Forms.
    Reply me in case any of you people get a solution based on my idea.

  • How to make a long animated button

    Hello
    Does anyone know how to make a animation on a button when you
    put your curser over or click the button longer then just a few
    frames. in other words to extend the over or down parts of the
    button animation.
    Thanks a lot.

    how about using attachMovie() to attach a bullet hole MC

    at the mouse coordinates when clicked. although your 'can' should
    also be a MC button.

    How can I solve the problem ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi there
    If this is the final slide, you may not actually need to resort to Advanced Actions. Often, these tend to intimidate folks.
    Perhaps if you can tell us exactly what the buttons do, we can offer a simplified way to deal with the situation. For example, if one button visits a web site, you can configure it to open in a new window and when you do that, there is an option you can set that keeps things paused.

  • How to make separation between added buttons into a jToolBar?

    Hi friends,
    I have made a jToolBar (using NetBeans IDE 5.5) with several buttons, but i dont know how to make custom separation between those added buttons. I will appreciate it if anyboy give me some tips.
    Thanks in advance,
    Reza_mp

    I don't know about NetBeans but yeah U can add horizontal atruts and verticals struts between two components, i.e.
    1.) add first component
    2.) add horizontal or vertical struts(according to ur toolbar)
    3.) add second component
    4.) add add horizontal or vertical struts(according to ur toolbar)
    this will definitely solve ur problem.
    If it does, don't forget to pay ur points.

  • How to make next and previous button function

    Hello
    Can anybody help me with how to achieve next and previous button function such as the one at www.bestbuy.com?
    I would appreciate any help or suggestion.
    Thank you!

    if you're not familiar with flash it might be easiest to place your initial "page" in frame 1, the 2nd (or next) page in frame 2, the 3rd/next page in frame 3 etc.
    place your previous and next buttons in their own layer that spans the main timeline (which will have as many frames as you have "pages").  give them instance names (say prevBtn and nextBtn).
    you can then use the following code placed in frame 1:
    var tl:MovieClip=this
    prevBtn.onRelease=function(){
    tl.prevFrame();
    nextBtn.onRelease=function(){
    tl.nextFrame();

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi srinivasan,
    If you want to keep "Save" and "Stop" common, Why do you want to keep them on Tab control? Is your tab control taking entire space on Front panel? If so, you can have SAVE and STOP on other vi, and you can call this vi (MODAL).

    Hi
    When making spry menubar how do you make the first button or whatever page you are on a different colour to show that you are on that page?

    1. Add a helper script called SpryDOMUtils.js as per
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryDOMUtils.js"></script>
    2. Add a function called InitPage or similar that inspects each of the menu items and compares the link with the current URL as per
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    function InitPage(){

        if(a.href == window.location){
            Spry.Utils.addClassName(node,"activeMenuItem");
    3. Add a listener for when the page is loaded. The listener will be the trigger for the function
    Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
    4. Add a style rule for the activeMenuItem that we, in our function, addedto the current menu item.
    .activeMenuItem a {

  • How to make a movie clip button into a url link?

    Hello,
    I'm kinda new to using Flash and am trying to edit a template for a friend of mine, the problem is I'm trying to add a url link to the buttons. I tried adding this action to the button
    on(release){
    getURL(http://www.yoururl.com.);
    I saved as swf & got this error msg in the compiler errors: Symbol=but1,layer 4, frame=1 Mouse events are only for button instances
    In the library I checked the properties of the button and its a movies clip, I'm not sure if it will make any difference if I change to button or graphic?
    I would like to upload the fla and swf files but this forum doesn't seem to allow me to attach files to messages.
    Does anyone know how to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the problem, I checked and
    in my flash file its typed correctly.

  • How to make "start" and "replay" buttons.

    I've just started learning Flash, and at university we're being taught Action Script 2.0.
    However, I've just done my entire animation in 3.0 without realising it.
    Now, I need to make a button on the first frame saying "play animation", and another at the end saying "replay animation".
    I can't figure out how to do this in 3.0. The version I learnt in 2.0 doesn't work, and every internet tutorial I've looked at includes at least 20 lines of something that (to me, as a beginner) looks like indecipherable gibberish.
    In 2.0, I was taught to use: on(release) {gotoAndPlay('animstart')};
    ...or similar.
    What can I use in 3.0? Does it really have to be 20 lines long? I just want to make it go to the next frame, that's all - I've already done the graphics.
    I'd appreciate your help so much - I have to present my animation in just two days' time!

    What other code have you used in the file that prohibits you from making this an AS2 file?

  • How to make custom html form buttons - here's a way to do it.

    I have been trying to create custom HTML form rollover submit/Reset buttons but could not get it going.
    There is a Javascript way but I do not know how.
    Anyway, I manage to get it working in all browsers except for IE 6. It does not hover in IE 6.
    Here is the HTML code:
    <label class="contact_form_btn">
    <input type="submit" name="submit_btn" class="contact_form_submit_btn" value="Submit form" />
    </label>
    And here is the CSS:
    .contact_form_btn, .contact_form_submit_btn {
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
        display: block;
        line-height: 40px;
        height: 40px;
        width: 200px;
        font-family: "Century Gothic", "Trebuchet MS", Verdana, Tahoma;
        font-size: 20px;
        color: #FFFFFF;
        font-weight: bold;
        float: left;
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: bottom;
    .contact_form_btn {
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: bottom;
    .contact_form_submit_btn {
        background: transparent;
        border: none;
        cursor: pointer;
        float: left;
        clear: left;
    .contact_form_btn:hover {
        background-image: url(../my_website_images/form_btn_set.jpg);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-position: top;
    It works perfectly but not in IE 6.
    In IE 6 the image does work but there is no hover effect.
    I'm using it anyway - screw it.
    But for the sake of learning and advancement  - does anybody have an idea why it will not rollover in IE 6?

    Hello,
    I read the information on the link you posted but I'm a litle confused as to how this is implemented.
    There is nothing mentioned about attaching a script to the document.
    All I read is that you add this to the body:  body {    behavior: url("csshover3.htc"); }
    And so my question is. The files that you download, where do you put them? Do you attached them to the header of the html page?
    Or do you pull them through the url that's attached in the CSS page body?
    I have contacted the author but if you know the answer, please explain further.
    Thanks again, Patrick

  • How to make a JPanel containing buttons  take up the width of the window?

    I'm creating a GUI and I have a button group that I want to be the width of the window. I have another JPanel on the same window that doesn't have a button group in it and it takes up the width of the window. I don't think I'm doing anything differently creating the two, but I need consistency.
    The best way I can explain this is with code, so I created an example of what I am doing here:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class test extends JFrame {
         public test() {
              JPanel win = new JPanel();
              JPanel buttonsPanel = new JPanel();
              JPanel statusPanel = new JPanel();
              win.setLayout(new BoxLayout(win, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              buttonsPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(buttonsPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              statusPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(statusPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
    //          createRadioButtonsPanel
              ButtonGroup buttons = new ButtonGroup();
              JRadioButton currentMap = new JRadioButton("option1", true);
              JRadioButton newMap = new JRadioButton("option2");
              JRadioButton noMap = new JRadioButton("option3");
              buttons.add(currentMap);
              buttons.add(newMap);
              buttons.add(noMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(currentMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(newMap);
              buttonsPanel.add(noMap);
              buttonsPanel.setBorder(
                        BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Create: "));
    //           createStatusPanel
              JLabel statusLabel = new JLabel("Loading...");
              statusLabel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createLoweredBevelBorder());
              statusLabel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusLabel.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusLabel.setMaximumSize(new Dimension(400,20));
              statusPanel.add(statusLabel);
              JPanel statusButtons = new JPanel(new FlowLayout(FlowLayout.RIGHT));
              JButton pauseSearch = new JButton("Pause");
              JButton cancelSearch = new JButton("Cancel");
              statusButtons.add(pauseSearch);
              statusButtons.add(cancelSearch);
              statusPanel.add(statusButtons);
              statusPanel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Status: "));
              win.add(buttonsPanel);
              win.add(statusPanel);
              getContentPane().add(win);
              pack();
              setVisible(true);
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              test s = new test();
    }When I compile and run this class I get this window:
    http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1538/exampleek5.png
    You see how on the bottom, "Status" JPanel takes up the entire width of the window? When the window is resized, the border is also resized. I would love to have the top "Create" JPanel have the same behavior. How do I do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    It can get confusing when using the BoxLayout. The box layout takes into consideration the X alignment of the components as well as the minimum and maximum lengths.
    So I suggest you read the Swing tutorial on [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/layout/box.html]How to Use Box Layout for examples and explanations on how these values are used in the layout process.
    It may be easier to use a BorderLayout for the high level layout manger, since it will resize a components width when added to the NORTH, CENTER or SOUTH.
