How to make FaceTime and iMessage stop turning off by themselves

Has anyone experienced FaceTime and iMessage randomly turning off?

1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.
Note on Recovery Mode.
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most Recent Backup...

Facetime and Imessage stopped working

Hi guys,
Sorry to bombard you with another Imessage/Facetime problem. So bascially a few nights ago, both these functions stopped working. I have tried all that is to be done from the other threads but still no luck. However my account that is also linked with my phone is working fine, it only appears to be my Ipad that isnt working. Any tips on how to fix this problem?

OK so I just played around with it and realised that my Wifi was the problem. I hotspotted my iPad and the facetime and imessage came back instantly. So now this poses a new question, my wifi connection bar says its connected, and yes it is, working fine for normal browsing, youtube etc... However when it comes to my iMessage and Facetime, it doesnt connect.
So is there a way for me to to fix this?

FT and iMessages used to work for me, but when I try to sign into them, it kicks me back to the sign in screen 9 out of ten times saying..."You were signed out of FaceTime because your AppleID or password changed. Sign in to turn on FaceTime.
When it DOES eventually let me through, either via restart/reset it tries to verify my email... fails... then says it sent an e-mail to my account, which never arrives. I tried resetting my security questions and I do get e-mails when I go that route. Still no fix.
My account still works via the app store/itunes/apple webpage, etc.
I've tried calling support and they seemed stumped. Trying re-syncing, hard reset...resetting all my settings, I have time auto-synced... still no remedy. Please help. Bought this specifically for Facetime and now I can't even get that to work.

OK, the fix was frustratingly easy.
My Apple ID is an old @mac.com address which is non functioning. This email address was also sitting in "alternate email addresses" within my Apple ID settings page. I deleted it and FaceTime and iMessage now work.
I went to www.appleid.apple.com and logged in using my normal Apple ID credentials. I then made sure that ANY alternate email addresses listed under the Apple ID were in fact verifed. Sitting happily in there under "Alternate Email Address" was the @mac.com which was the non-functioning email address. I deleted and it's all now working. I also deleted some other alternate email addresses that were sitting in there.
The only other suggestion from Apple was to create a separate Apple ID specifically for the FaceTime / iMessage functionality.
They said the conflict probably arose from the fact that the Apple ID was associated with an alternate email address which could NOT be verified.
I have to hand it to the Senior Tech Analysist from Apple in Brisbane. Very helpful, very friendly and their follow-through and ownership of my problem were very good.

Since upgrading TO iOS 8.3 FaceTime and iMessages stop working at me iPhone 4s.

Facetime and iMessages are working no my iPad with my email direction but not recognizing my celular number, my iPhone. What can I do TO make ig work?

I had this issue with my iPhone5 on Verizon. I just finished a call with Apple, here were the steps we took to correct the issue;
Connected phone to computer, opened iTunes
clicked on the phone icon in iTunes and selected Summary tab
selected Restore iPhone
When asked, selected set up as new, not from a backup. During this process iTunes found and downloaded new carrier settings
When this restore completed I had cell signal
then restored from a backup

How to "activate" FaceTime and iMessage??

My iMessage and FaceTime are both working, but it still says "Waiting for activation.." right under both the FaceTime and iMessage settings. Under the "Receive At" setting, my email address is entered in. When I press on my email address, it takes me to a page shows my Apple ID, my email address, and in gray it says "Vertifying" with my phone number also in gray. I am currently out of the country and am using wifi for my apps, iMessage, FaceTime, and checking email. Why does it still say waiting for activation even though I can use everything fine?

The verifying message is likely because you are out of the country, and using another carriers network. If it works, then I would not worry about it until you get back. Other than the message, I don't think you said there was limited functionality.

FaceTime and imessages stopped working on ipod

My daughter's ipod used to let her FaceTime and send messages. It stopped all of a sudden. Now when I try to sign in to FaceTime or imessages it says verifying then returns to the sign in screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Why does my FaceTime and iMessage stop working?

Can someone please explain to me why my iMessage and FaceTime on my iPhone 4S keep crashing and not working? Both will be working fine and then they just stop working, it's down for hours and some times days. Not only that but when both those stop working so does my Facebook notifications. Then when both decide they wanna work, magically so does Facebook. Meanwhile all my friends can still use theirs. This is not the first time this has happened and I've contacted apple about it multiple times and of course they were of no help ..I've already tried signing out of iMessage and FaceTime then logging back in, network reset, complete reset of the phone, using my apple id for both, and being on direct wifi. Nothing and I mean nothing works or fixes it. They just stop working on their own and go back to working on their own ..But this is seriously getting ridiculous and annoying! Also my iPhone is not jail broken and is updated to the latest firmware. Anybody who could help fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it and if anyone else is having this problem please let me know.

It sounds like you have done a lot of troubleshooting already, but I'm not seeing that you signed out of Messages on the Mac and then signed back in. I would also suggest that you try signing out of iCloud and then back in again (since your Contacts seem to not be registering correctly either).

After downloading iOS 6 on my new I phone 5 both the FaceTime and iMessage app icons have disappeared yet if you go into settings they are both still turned on, I have searched my full device to find these apps and nothing has showed up. How do I get them

They could be on another page on your iPhone, try doing a search for the apps. If you still don't see them restart your iPhone by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo. If you are still having problems try to reset your home screen.

How to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with one iTunes account

We recently received iPad 2's for Christmas and was looking for some advice on how to FaceTime and iMessage on multiple apple devices with One iTunes Account (Apple Id). I have created or attached other e-mail addresses to our apple id but do not know how to use them on the new devices. Our home MacBook Pro uses our main apple id for FaceTime. The iPads have been setup with the main apple id w/o being able to use FaceTime and iMessage.

If you are trying to connect to someone with a different Apple ID, I think all the devices should work, but one at a time.
The problem is when you try to connect between two with the same Apple ID. Once the calling device tries to make the connection, it finds the second device to be "busy". That is where each needs to use a different E-Mail address when setting it up.
On iOS devices, when you press the Home button to exit an App, the App may still be active in the background, even when the device is sleeping. If FaceTime or iMessage is merely being active that way, it may be enough to "tie up" the E-Mail address.
From the Home screen, double click your Home button. You will see a list of recent Apps along the bottom of the screen. Press and hold on one of them until they start to wiggle. You will then see a red minus sign on each. Pressing the minus sign will remove an App from the list, and stop it from working in the background. (Click the Home button to stop the wiggling, and again to hide the recent Apps.)

II've had my ipad with retina display for about a 1 now and everything was fine In till I got my iphone 4s and put them on the same account then my ipad stopped letting me log in to my FaceTime and iMessage and it doesn't let me update my apps and dosnt let me log in to iCloud ever since I got my phone and put them on the same account does anyone know how I could fix it and still be able to connected to my iphone??

Log into each device with your own Apple ID's in Settings > iCloud.
Then, so you can share preiously purchased apps, log into both devices using the Apple ID used to make those purchases, but ONLY in Settings > iTunes and Apps Stores.
Verify that each device uses your own Apple IDs in Settings > Facetime and Settings > Messages.
