How to make firefox to open new a tab when you click a link in pdf
I have this pdf page that has a lot of links embedded opened on Firefox (24.7).
When I click the link on the pdf page, it jumps to the page on the very same tab.
Is there any way to open links on a pdf page in a new tab?
What value in about:config should I modify to make it happen??

You can't open link in new tab by middle click on PDF page...
You must be talking about behavior on normal web page.

You can right-click the image and use "Save Image As" to save that image.

Why does firefox opens new window/tab when i click on a link
if I click any link in Firefox it will open another blank window in addition to the link clicked, blank window opens on top. how do I stop this
If a website codes its links to open in a new window, you can divert that to a new tab.
The basic setting for this is here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs
The first checkbox: "Open new windows in a new tab instead"
In some cases, a website uses a script to launch a new window with special features, such as a set height/width, or with one or more toolbars removed. To avoid breaking sites that create dialog boxes this way, Firefox does not normally divert this kind of window to a new tab. However, if you wanted to send these to a tab as well, there is a hidden setting you can change. (See: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1035103#answer-662627])
If Firefox is sending ALL links to new windows or new tabs, you might have an extension like Tab Mix Plus or Tab Utilities which changes the built-in tab handling features. You would need to explore their settings to get it just the way you want it. -
How can I stop firefox from opening hundreds of tabs when I click on an embedded email link?
Every time I forget and click on an embedded email link, firefox tries to open multiple tabs(sometimes hundreds). I can't shut down firefox when this happens, I can't do anything else. I have to manually shut down the computer and reboot.
Check to make sure that mailto has not been set to open Firefox.
To do that open the Preferences dialog by selecting "Firefox > Preferences". In the Preferences dialog go to the Applications panel. In the "Content Type" column locate mailto, and make sure the Action column is not set to "Use Firefox" This procedure is explained in more depth in the [[Managing file types]] article.

Use FF3 and taking a look at FF4. I set up some App Tabs. Close FF4. Open FF4. No App Tabs.

Just installed v5 of Firefox over v4.1 to XP system, 2Gb memory. Reinstalled 2Java updates, Silverlight and adobe reader as recommended in post firefox installation window. Rebooted and tried to make the new AppTabs work to no avail.
I"m not sure what else you need. The new AppTabs are not working. When Firefox is closed, AppTabs do not reappear when it is reopened later. They were installed by right-click on open tab as instructed on your upgrade website. Tabs were for yMail, gMail, and iGoogle. I have not tried to pin any other apps or sites. Is there anything I can do to make this work, or is this a bug? My MAC ran through the first two options dealing with thumbnails, but crashed during the "restore database" step and now I have a mess. Help, please. Thank you.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -

I have previously saved PDF files on my desktop. When I open the PDF, firefox sees fit to open a new tab even though I do not have the browser open. This is annoying because after I close the PDF I then have to close the New Tab browser window as well. This costs me a lot of productivity time as I open a lot of PDF's for work. The PDF file use to show the Adobe logo on the file on desktop. Once I installed firefox it now shows the firefox logo?

In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
