How to make folders

This might have been answered in a different topic but i was just wondering how to make folders in Mail. I don't know if you can but... just a folder i can name and have it say "Friends" and then put the email from my friends in that folder.

At the menu bar, go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox.
If you are accessing a .Mac type account or an IMAP account with Mail, the location options are "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive or the .Mac or IMAP account which will create a server stored mailbox.
If you aren't accessing a .Mac type account or IMAP, "On My Mac" is your only location choice.
Enter a name for the mailbox and select OK.

  • How to make folders in photo?

How to make folders in the photo app pre-loaded on the IPad?

Whne you are in the screen where you can select which Album to view, there should be an Edit button top right of the screen - tap that and then tap the New Album button that will then show top left and name your new album. You will then be shown thumbnails of your photos so that you can 'copy' those photos into that new album.
From what I understand with how it works, those photos won't be moved into the new album, instead they will remain in the original album and a pointer to them will go in the new album - so if you then delete the photo from its original album it will also be removed from all new albums that you've 'copied' it into.

  • How to make folders stay collapsed in list view in finder?

could someone please tell me if there is a way to make folders stay collapsed next time you open that particular folder (like they used to in tiger)
let me explain this in more detail
back in tiger, when you were in list mode, when you press right arrow on a folder it was expanding its contents, but the next time you open that folder those folders were collapsed, whereas in leopard it remembers the folders you expanded and they stay expanded forever (or until you collapse them all again manually)
i think its a lot more logical for them to stay collapsed next time you're opening that folder because if you have a lot of subfolders and they're all expanded when you open the folder next time its huge, the side scroller bar is tiny and its very difficult to find your stuff
if someone has a solution for this it would be greatly appreciated
    thank you very much

    thanks for your reply
actually CMD+A & CMD+left arrow only collapses the folders of the folder youre in, and not all the levels of subfolders that youve opened
if i could do CMD+A & CMD+left arrow to collapse all the levels of expanded subfolders that would be fine but imagine how much time it would take to locate everything that youve expanded and collapse it manually if you have about 10 levels of subfolders?
i find this incredibly frustrating, has anyone else got any suggestions?

  • Anyone know how to make folders for Word and Powerpoint?

I've been trying to make folders for my word documents. i dont know how though!! Thanks for the help!

Open Finder, highlight your Macintosh HD and select New Folder. Name it whatever you want. In Word there is an option to Save File in X folder. Select that new folder you created. Alternative to this is when saving a file a dialog window will open where you can select the folder to save in, select the folder you created and there should be an option to make this the Default folder to save to (but not sure about that option in the Save dialog box).

  • How to make folders in numbers

how do you make folders in Numbers for templates and spreadsheets.

This sounds like an iOS (iPad/iPhone) question. If so please let us know, using the "report post" can be used to have it moved to the iOS forums.
In iOS, you use the same method as you do in the main operating system. From your spreadsheet list, Tap and hold till they wiggle, then move one on top of another.

  • How To make Folders For Apps?

I'm a newbie convert to the iPhone, and can't figure out if I can make Folders for my Apps. I'd like to keep similar apps together without having to search through to locate any specific app.
    Any help would be appreciated!

To make folders, enter the app editing mode by holding your finger on any app. Little white X’s will appear above each app, and all apps will shake back and forth. Hold your finger on the app you want to add to a folder and drag the app towards another app that you want to add to the new folder. You'll then be given the option to edit the folder name. By default, iPhone gives the folder a generic name that may or may not have much to do with both apps. Click the bottom of the screen to return to apps edit mode. The new folder now appears in the list with the name you gave it, and with small icons of the apps contained in the folder. From here, you can drag more apps into the new folder. To remove apps from a folder, click the folder and simply drag the app’s icon to the main part of the screen with the other apps. When finished, hit the home button.

  • Links - How to reorder links within a folder. Also, how to make folders open in a tree view?

I'm working on a portal in Sharepoint 2007. It appears that I can only have one set of "Links" on a page, so I am grouping my related links into folders. I'm having two issues with this...
#1. I need to change the order of the links within a folder. When I try to Change Order under the Actions menu, I only get the main list of links, not those within the folder. How can I reorder links within a folder?
#2. When I click a Links folder, all links go away, except for the links within that folder. Is there any way to make the Links list work in a Tree view?
Sorry for the newbie questions, but I've not worked much in Sharepoint and I had this project dropped on me.  :(

    Hi,
    For Question #1,
    refer this link.
    Hope it helps!

  • How to Make Folders Visible in Library

I want to view folders in library to make sorting easier but my template of folders (created in Finder) will not show.  Before I cull my images,  I'd like to be able to sort/shove specific images into specific folders before culling.  It appears that the only way to see these folders is to have an image in them.
How do I get these folders to appear in Library?

ACDSee's strength is its photo management.
One of Lightroom's strengths is photo management.
Your task of organizing can be done in any one of a variety of ways, including folders, keywords, collections, captions, etc. You really have a lot of choices to accomplish this.
The way I would do this is set up the following keywords "Pregame", "Concourse Shots", "Candids", etc. Then, photos go into folders by capture date or by event (I prefer capture date, but that's me); when it's time for you to search for specific photos, you can then select the desired folder and use the Filter Bar to find only the "Concourse Shots" from that event.
... but so many people say that sorting/culling in LR is great.
I have not heard this statement and I would not say that myself. In fact I would say Lightroom is okay for sorting (but very powerful for organizing and filtering); and as far as culling goes, I don't think Lightroom has any particular advantages over any other software.

  • How to make folders work on Sidebar

Of course, I use the sidebar, which contains items like "Music," "Movies," and "Applications." However, I would like to add some folders. How exactly would I add custom folders when could be used seen and used on the sidebar?

I'm thinking that you aren't dragging a folder to the sidebar; you are dragging an icon file (that looks like a folder) to the sidebar. If you are trying to make one of your folders look attractive or distinctive by giving it different look, what you want to do is select the folder (single click it) and then go to the File menu and select *Get Info* (or use Command I). Do the same with the attractive folder icon. That opens up two information dialog boxes and in the very top you'll see a picture of each folder.
Click on the attractive folder in the info dialog and copy it (command C or Copy under the Edit menu). Then click info dialog of the folder you want to give this icon to and then click on the folder. Paste - (command V or Paste under the Edit menu).
If I'm wrong about what it is you are trying to do, just ignore all this and hope someone else can help you

  • How to make folders for photos

How can I sort my photos out into folders so that I can choose which photos I want as my desktop. At the moment it wont let me choose a specific folder to have rotating as my desktop so I'm having to have all my photos on rotation. Help anyone?!?!?!

Create the folder in Finder, you can put it anywhere you want in your home folder, and put your pictures in it.  Then, in System Preferences -> Displays -> Desktop click the + button at the bottom of the folder list and navigate to your newly created folder.

  • How to make folders remain closed/collapsed in a list-view finder window?

    Hi there,
I apologize if this was already answered, but after checking the posts, I just could find one dude who made the very same question but he got no answer; so that is why I'm posting this question back since is so much inconvenient having a lot of folders opened all the time.
Back in the OS9 system the tip was as simple: just option-click the arrow next to the folder icon, but it no longers works...
    Any ideas?
    Thanx.

    Hi Roam,
I'm afraid that it won't work as expected. There they remain, expanded or collapsed as they were in some time you didn't noticed. I guess it has to be with permissions repair. I even tried to change permissions (instead of repair them) and apply them to the included folders (with the folders within collapsed) to see if that works, but there's no way.
The thing is that I dont wanna get messed with permissions repair (too busy in the studio), but on the other hand, it seems a pain to me to browse all that expanded folders every day...
Well, let's see how it goes...
Thanks for taking the time to reply,
    Peace!

  • How to make folders for music

When a album is downloaded, the songs go to the music library individually. Trasnfering it to playlist becomes acumbersome job.
Is there any way to store it albumwise ??
    Pl suggest.

You're quite right - segregating the music album-wise isn't easy with iTunes.
Your best solution is to use Playlists - indented groups of songs segregated by subject, genre - or album. This is a big topic to cover in a single post, so I'd suggest looking here:

  • How to make folders in my mailbox to keep emails in?

In my mailbox all I have is inbox, sent nd trash. I would like to put some folders in to save some of my emails in.

If it's an IMAP type account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of folders that you currently have on your email account. If it's a POP type account then you won't get the Edit button and you are limited to what you currently have.
