How to make fonts on menus larger

I just installed elements 11. The font size on many of the selections is small, too small to easily see with my level of vision (bifocals). Examples are the Quick and Guided edit menu picks, the popups when you curser over a tool. Can anyone tell me how to make the type size larger?
Thanks!
Tucker Cox

You may need to reduce the display setting via the control panel below the native resolution of your monitor.
However this may affect the appearance of other applications.

There doesn't appear to be a setting in TurboTax to make the font bigger.
But you can go to Applications/System Preferences/Displays/Display and pick Resolution:Scaled and experiment with different resolutions, which will make the fonts look bigger.
There are also zoom settings in System Preferences/Accessibility/Zoom.

The easiest method is to type Command + and that will make make the image larger. However you can also go to System Preferences - Displays and adjust the display resolution too. Finally, you can use Mavericks zoom capabilities as explained in:

• HOW TO MAKE FONTS BIGGER IN FINDER MENU

How can i make fonts bigger in finder menu and safari menus . everything is very small

Zoom works well or:
Sidebar Text & Icons can be set to small, medium or large. > System prefs > General > Sidebar Icon size.. Sorry Lion..
Finder text can be made larger > View > Show view options.
Safari & Mail command + works reasonably well.
Changing the Display resolution > System Prefs > Display may work OK for you.
Third party freeware option > Tinker Tool.
Must admit I wonder if my eyes would cope OK with the HighDef screen on an Air..

• How to make font bigger than 1296pt. in cs4????

hello, ok i am editing this to make it easier i hope. question why cant i make font bigger than 1296pt. in cs4. my template is 24"x150" for some vinyl i want to cut. cs4 wont let me transform type that big...so how can i accomplish that. i created what i needed in photoshop and reopened in cs4 that worked but now i cant get it to create outlines. what am i doing wrong or not doing at all??? thanks for all the help in advance -nick

You could set your type in Illustrator, convert it to outlines and scale it.
If you want to keep it editable as long as possible, apply a transform effect and scale it that way

• How to make fonts in firefox look prettier? For example like in sleipnir

Hello,
I wonder if there is a way to make fonts in firefox look smooth and easy to read?
I've tried using Sleinpir browser (http://www.fenrir-inc.com/us/sleipnir/) which has aimed to provide smooth and readable text and almost every piece of text looks just better and more pleasant to read.
I've tried almost every setting both in Options dialog and in about:config (under gfx.font filter).
Enabling rendering via directwrite helped a lot, but it's still nothing compared to Sleipnir.
Here are some screenshots:
Default firefox - http://s5.postimg.org/8ifmq7u7p/ff_default.png
Firefox with directwrite enabled - http://s5.postimg.org/k15xb3c1h/ff_directdraw.png
Sleipnir - http://s5.postimg.org/5w049a305/sleipnir_default.png
So is there a way to make fonts look this pretty in firefox? Is there any iniciative to make FF capable of such thing?
Thanks a lot
(EDIT: I've even tried instaling gdi++ https://code.google.com/p/gdipp/ alternative renderer for windows, but it doesn't seem to make any change in firefox)

• How to Make Fonts Bigger in Safari Menu Bar and Tabs

Hello,
I just set up a new IMAC 27" for my mom and she cannot read the menu bars and tabs in Safari. I know how to make the text of the webpage itself bigger, but is there any way to make the text in the menu bars and tabs bigger. Someone sugggested Opera browser. Would that be a better option?
Thanks
John

Welcome!
I had the same issue with my 27-inch--here's how I fixed it:
1) Go to System Preferences > Displays and select the "Displays" tab
2) For "Resolution" there are two buttons: "Best for Display" and "Scaled." Select "Scaled."
3) Now you should see a list of resolutions. The default is probably 2560x1440. Change it to 1920x1080.
I don't have great eyes but this setting makes it easy for me to see. It makes all menu bars including Safari about 3/10ths inch wide and the menu lettering close to 1/4-inch tall.

• How to make font larger in Pages?

I just got my first iPhone, the 4s. v 7.1.1. I'm familiar with Pages on the iMac…but Pages for the iPhone - I can see how to change text that's already been written, but how do you choose the font size before starting the document? In the document manager, I'm selecting "Blank", to start. Once I start typing, the font is big enough to read, but to just open and read the document would be impossible, it's that tiny.
Also, in Document Manager, the document titles are totally impossible to read, and I cannot find a way to change their fonts.
I'm probably (I hope), overlooking something really obvious, but I'd sure appreciate any help
Thanks!
Lynne

I'd seen that, but thought it was about editing, because I had looked at the Apple page which describes the app, pointing out the great location of the format bar, right above the keyboard - which it isn't, on mine. So I thought I'd missed something.
Ok so apparently you have to enter some text, highlight it, make the change, then the text you enter following that will be the size you chose. I see on that page too that someone mentioned "save as" - I have no Save As, I have "Done" after I've edited as above, and when I'm back in my document, the only choice I can see is "Documents" to take me back to the Documents Manager page, where it's saved. There, I can "Edit" and "Rename" documents, but I can't find a way to increase the font size for the names, and they're unreadable.
Thanks,
Lynne

• How to make web links open larger in firefox

Firefox is my default internet. IGoogle is my home page. I have XPWindows. I recently had Firefox put in and use that as my default internet connection. When I click on a web page, it does not fill my screen - there's anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of white on each side of the web page. With my old default page, it filled the entire screen. How do I make it fill the whole screen?

Hello,
Have you tried [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages|Firefox's zoom feature]]? This will help increase the size of web pages.
* To make things bigger, press '''Ctrl''' and '''&#43''' at the same time.
* To make things smaller, press '''Ctrl''' and '''-''' at the same time.
* To reset the size back to normal, press '''Ctrl''' and '''0''' at the same time.
You can also use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. add-on to change the default zoom level for all websites at once. After setting your global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
'''Using NoSquint:'''
#After installing NoSquint, make sure you have the Add-on Bar displayed:
#*Right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
#Click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
#*You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but it's not recommended that you go higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.
Please let us know if this helped you!
Thank you.

How to get bold font in Acrobat X?

Acrobat X Standard?
Not supported.
Acrobat X Pro
Supported.
From Acrobat X Pro Help:
"Edit text using the Edit Document Text tool (formerly TouchUp Text)
The Edit Document Text tool works best when editing only a few characters. For more extensive editing, make changes in the original document (if available), and then recreate the PDF.
If the original document is unavailable, try exporting the PDF to Word. Choose File > Save As > Microsoft Word > [version]. For details, see “Convert PDFs to Word, RTF, spreadsheets or other formats” on page 130."
Be well...

• I have a 22 inch monitor set at 150% but since I installed Firefox, the font is too small and the screen is too small. Cannot make font or screen larger. I can do Control++ each time I enter a page but don't want that to be my solution.

In control panel/display, I had my display set at 150% and at 1680 X 1050 resolution. This filled my 22 inch screen with the page content. Now that I have installed Firefox, the font is too small and the content is centered in the screen leaving about3" per side of blank space. I want to fill the screen and make everything larger. Haven't found a way to do that. Firefox tells me in my control panel/display window that by setting my display at 150%, "some items may not fit in your screen if you choose this setting while your display is set to this resolution. It worked fine with Explorer.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965
Or the NoSquint extension:
