How to make genius feature sync to ipod classic 160mb

I would imagine this question has asked thousands of times but, here we are. I have tried for years to sync this thing and each time I step away frustraited and defeated.
I look on line for a answer and read; yes, it can be done and no, it can't be done. I've read the "how to" and can't make heads or tails of what direction to go.
Don't know what happened to iTunes but it is very confusing to learn lately. Never seem to be that hard in the beginning. (Sorry, I'm rambling.)
Anyway can somone shed some light on this subject.
Thanks

what i finally did to go around this problem was to make another user on my computer and only download podcasts. just as long as you don't hook the ipod up in this new profile, you should be fine

  • How to make podcasts NOT sync to ipod

I'm having some trouble with podcasts. I want to download them to my computer but not to my ipod. I tried setting the podcast option on my ipod to manually update, but they sync anyways because the podcasts are appearing in the library as songs. is there anyway to stop them from going onto my ipod, short of me manually updating the ipod everytime i connect it?

  • TS1424 I don't know how or where to turn on the genius feature on my Ipod Nano - HELP

I don't know how to turn on the genius feature on my Ipod Nano....Can someone tell me how?  Thanks peeps!

copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/yourname/music on the source to <MacintoshHD>/users/yourname/music on the target (overwriting the iTunes folder in place there).
you can use an external HD or your network for this operation. everything will be as you were used to from the old machine.

  • How can I sync my iPod classic to another iTunes library

I need to sync my iPod classic to a new computer shared with my wife how can I sync my music to her library?

    Hello eddie8625,
I would recommend enabling 'manual mode' on the iPod so that it can be synced to two libraries without affecting the existing content on the device.

  • How do I sync my Ipod Classic 160gb with my new computer (windows 8). It synced with my old computer (windows XP) but not with my new one (windows8)

How do I sync my Ipod Classic 160gb with my new computer (Windows8).? It synced with my old computer (WindowsXP) but will not do so on the new computer?

    Hi Lechwe,
I had this issue recently, due to changing HD for an SSD.
In my case, since the library in my iPod was synced to the HD it was not syncing to the library in the SSD, though they were the same (had the same contents).
I found there's this checkbox in iTunes > iPod > [Settings] Music, called "Sync Music". Mine was unchecked, I guess due to iPod being synced to the old library. I marked the checkbox and clicked then in Sync. iTunes asked me if I was sure I wanted to sync the iPod with the "new" library, i clicked yes, and the it started determining the song to sync. Since the library was essentially the same (just a couple songs more in the new one), it synced the couple new songs and that was it.
    Hope it helps!
    Regards,
    Awlo.

  • I can't sync my iPod classic any longer to itunes on my iMac because it tells me I no longer have the priviledge to make changes? does anyone have a solution to this?

I can no longer sync my iPod classic to my itunes on my iMac because I'm told I no longer have the priviledge to make changes? any ideas?

    Hello Zabagon,
I was looking through our resources for information based on what you are describing here. I found an article that may just get you back up and running, called iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1277.
    Symptoms
With Mac OS X, the Shared folder is required to authorize your iTunes Store purchases. With Windows the iTunes folder is also required. If either of these folders are missing or have incorrect folder permissions, you may notice one of the following symptoms:
You are unable to complete a purchase from the iTunes Store.
You are told that you do not have permission to modify your iTunes Media folder when downloading from the iTunes Store.
You cannot play content you purchased from the iTunes Store.
An alert appears with the following text:"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required directory was not found or has a permission error."
    Resolution
    Collapse All | Expand All
    Mac OS X
Log in to your computer using an administrator account.
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type: "/Users" (without quotes) and click Go.
    Take care,
    Sterling

You cannot. There is no iTunes application on an iPad and iPods cannot sync with an iPad.

  • TS1382 I have a new computer, how do I sync my Ipod Classic to the new computer

I have a new Dell computer, how do I sync my Ipod Classic to the new computer

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.
Or better yet, if you still have access to the old computer, use one of the method described in this article copy everything from the old PC to the new one.

Sync it the same way any other iDevice would be synced on any other version of iTunes running on Windows or a Mac.
    Plug it in.
Select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.

  • Music in the cloud; how do I sync my ipod classic?

When i went to a mac, i moved all my music to the cloud.  now i get an error message when i want to sync my ipod classic.  if i 'erase and sync' will it erase everything on my ipod?  I have over 7700 songs and don't want to lose them!
    Thanks

I figured so, but had to ask anyways.   You never know.
Yes, it seems archaic, because you are working with a much older device that has a much simpler hardware and software design compared to the newer iOS devices.

  • How do i transfer songs from my ipod classic to another ipod classic?

How do I transfer music form one Ipod classic to another?

Music cannot be transferred from iPod directly to another.  You'll need to make sure the music on the iPod is in your iTunes library first. Once you have done that (if it even needs to be done) go ahead and sync it to the 2nd iPod.

  • Computer restarts after syncing 80gb ipod classic

Every time I sync my ipod classic,(80gb)the computer restarts itself. How do I stop this? I'm using windows XP home edition. Any advise will be greatly appreciated

Are you getting any sort of blue screen when the PC reboots? If so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x\[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
If the blue screen mentions a specific file (for example, “ati3duag.dll”), let us know what that is called too. (Exact spelling, please.)
Here's a reference on the sorts of things i'm asking about:
    Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages
If you're not seeing a blue screen (or if you’re just seeing a flash of a blue screen before the PC reboots), we can use the following technique to make hidden blue screens appear for us:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.
With those settings in place, does a blue screen appear before the PC reboots?
