How to make home movies sharper on TV screen

In moving home movies from analog tapes to DVD, I see that the image is much sharper on the computer screen than it is on the TV. I'm assuming this is because it is blown up so big on the TV. Is there a way to "share" the movie in iMovie in a way that will confine it on the TV so it doesn't blow it up to full screen? I want it bigger than the computer, but would like to confine it some for a better image on the TV. I'm using iMovie 11 and iDVD to create the movies.
I have been using the following settings: Export using Quick Time>Movie to MPEG-4>Video Format: H.264>Data Rate 5000>Image Size: 1280 x 720 HD>Frame Rate 3>Video Options Restrict Profile to Main>Encoding Mode: Best quality (Multi-pass)
I've also used Export Movie>HD 720p
While I can't tell much difference between these two settings, they have both created better results than exporting directly to iDVD or Media Browser.
I'm burning them all to RW disks until I decide what I want.

It doesn't really matter the technical frame sizes, or recording sizes for NTSC or VHS.
But it's still not good to give advice that is wrong;
I suggest you have a look at google, or wiki to see what sizes are standard for NTSC.
640 x 480 is a computer video size, not television.
But back to the main post....
Have you considered not using iMovie?
You don't really need to edit these videos, so any capture program will be fine.
There are a couple of DV capture programs, like Vidi.
These may capture the tapes as DV, and should save it interlaced.
Then you can drag the fiels made (either dv or quicktime) into iDVD and let it convert them.
Again I suggest you do not save to H.264 before making the DVD; you're essentially converting your videos three times at the moment.
But if it looks O.K, and it's getting to complicated and annoying then just stick with what you've done, and save the tapes just in case you want to do it again (or someone else can!) another day.

How to make it move correctly?

I made a simple Flex application. There is a helicopter which

Make clicking disabled when the helicopter is moving. So
right after a click, disable clicking.
There are many coding possibilities for doing so. Make your
own, then add the code below after it:

After Effects is huge, unbelievably deep and stupidly complicated.

How to play home movies on TV via Iphone and NAS Drive?

I have a problem playing transferred home movies on a flat screen tv through the “TV Out” feature of my Iphone 4.
Brief History:
I have captured about a TB worth of various home movie videos from VHS tape to my PC hard drive in AVI format using AVS Video Recorder. I used AVS Video Converter to convert the AVI movie files to M4V files, to play these movies on my IPhone. I then copied these M4V video files to a Western Digital “My Book Live” NAS Drive which allows me to view any video using my Iphone, via a WD app, without using Iphone internal memory. This works so far.
The problem is that I thought I could show these videos to family members through their big screen TV at their house, and by hooking my Iphone to their tv’s audio/video inputs, via cables, using TV Out and access the videos from my NAS Drive as I could when using the Iphone alone. However, the home movies do not play on the TV! After a conversation with Apple Techs I was told that using the Iphone’s “TV Out” feature to view video onto a TV, via the Iphone , only works for video that is stored on the internal memory of the Iphone itself, not for accessing 3rd party drives as my NAS.
I was told that there are ways around this like:
-    Syncing certain videos to the Iphone (to save storage space) and viewing them on TV via “TV OUT”
-    Getting an IPad (bigger screen then Iphone) and accessing the videos through the Apple Cloud
-    Using Apple TV and accessing movies via the cloud (which means I would have to bring and hook-up Apple TV to the receiving TV). Not sure about this method.
-    Something about Airplay and mirrioring???
So my question is: Is there any way to access my NAS drive (which has all videos stored) and play those videos on another household’s TV, for many people to comfortably view at once, via my Iphone? Or, is there another method?

the playlist option will show next to where "genre" is only if the playlist contains the appropriate content for the section that you are in.
for example i have a playlist that contains all episodes of a season of King Of Queens. the playlist shows in the "my tv shows" section, but does not in "my movies", as the playlist only contains tv shows.

How to make a movie of a presentation keeping audio and pictures in sync

How can I synch slides and audio (the audios are different lengths) in a presentation and turn it into a video.
Each slide should stay in place until the audio has finished (the audio's are slightly different lengths).
I've tried using a free trial of "Adobe Presenter" but I couldn't seem to make a movie of my presentation.
I will consider purchasing the software that will do this for me as I have a few presentations I want to make and convert to movie format for my colleagues to watch (this is to help in a teaching environment).
Is there a program that will let me match up my audios and slides in the correct order and synch them so the audios do not move beyond the slide for which they are intended? Any help much appreciated with this problem.

The slide duration in presenter is automatically adjusted according to the time of the audio inserted on that slide.
How are you inserting audio on slide ? Recording or inserting using presenter option ?
You cannot create a movie format like avi, mp4 etc
But you may publish the presenttaion in the swf format which will play in a browser or a swf player. To play in the broswer you just need to have Adobe Flash Player installed on your system. It will play like a movie in the broswer.

How to make a movie from an audio file and 1 static image?

Hi,
I want to make a movie that it is basically an 8 minutes audio file and I want to have a background picture that is static and stays there during the whole 8 minutes of my audio.
How can I do that?
I'm able to add the audio and the picture, however I can't stretch the picture to 8 minutes.
My iMovie version is 5.0.2

Hi mcanovas - Simply duplicate the picture as many times as needed. In the Photos pane you can extend the pic to 30 seconds, so duplicate that 16 times and there you go!

HELP!! Looking for iDVD similar software to make home movies.

I recently purchased my Mac and it is my first (previously only had PC's) My computer came with iLife-but only iPhoto, iMovie, and iGarage band. I am looking for something to make my home movies and play on a dvd player-with a menu page, ect.

I'm sure that will work, but is it all that necessary, surely it's simpler to drag the movie from the iphoto window to the itunes window.
If it is in the wrong format try advanced/convert selection for Apple TV. Some files may not convert this way, if so, come back for another method based on the type of file you have.

How to make the obligate field in selection screen

In my report two radio buttons and two bloc selection screens are there.When we select the first radio button first screen will be editable second screen will be non-editable vice-versa.
but the problem is in each selection screen one mandatory field is required suppose if i give the one field obligatory in first block screen it is not allowing the second readout please help me regarding this how i will make the mandatory field in both screens.

Dont Declare your field as OBLIGATORY.
Instead perform the validation in AT SELECTION-SCREEN event. But validation should be only when Particular Radiobutton is selected.
And Generate only Error Message (Type E).

To make a folder on screen, long press on one app and drag and drop it on top of another app. You will kinda see both apps there now and when you touch it a folder will open up and you can choose one of the apps. You will also now be given a chance to name the folder.
To open a new window in the chrome browser, tap on the menu button (the 3 verticle dots in the upper right hand corner of the screen) and click "new tab"

How to make configurator not change the lock screen

i manage about 300 ipad mini's for a school district and i use apple configurator once a month to manually update the ios and apps on the ipads. i have a grade level that uses pictures of the kids for the lock screen to identify whose ipad is whose. the issue is when i plug them into configurator to update them it always resets this lock screen, how can i make it so that the lock screen is not effected? All of my ipads are supervised, and i do not have the option of removing the supervision from that grade level.

If the phone is locked the only call you can place is to 911 (or its local equivalent) without unlocking it. You can also take a picture, but not review other photos.
