How to make iTunes support more than just one harddrive

The title of this topic says it all: How do I make iTunes support more than just one harddrive? I cannot afford to buy a really huge drive just because iTunes doesn't support more than one.
There must be a way around this! Anyone?

I sure hope so. I run iTunes on an iBook G4 with limited space. I've got about 15gigs of music on an external harddrive. I only use the harddrive at home so I like to keep a handful of albums with me on the lappy. There should be some way to designate a primary folder on the laptop for imports, and a secondary (external or whatever) for the bulk of the library. Maybe some nifty way to do quick transfers between them within iTunes. Like a relocate function.
Say I want the new death cab for cutie album on the laptop this week, but next week I want to swap it out with something new that comes out. It would be nice to highlight an album and select "transfer to secondary" so that iTunes can move the files for you, keep them organized, and keep track of them.
That doesn't sound so difficult...

As Vignesh has mentioned we don't have any standard functionality which will allow bulk approvals. We had same kind of requirement in performance management where the business was asking for a bulk approval feature which should be available to Skip level manager for approving the rating suggested by line manager. We had created a custom page which will list all the notifications and user can select the ones which S/He wants to bulk approve and click submit button. Internally we had called the workflow with item key and other required parameter and do the approval.
You can have a work with your technical guy and can work on the same lines.

Alert.Show in more than just one window

I'm simply curious if it is possible to set up an alert
dialog box to show up in more than just the main application
window. This isn't vital to anything I'm doing, just
curious.

I completely forgot about this post, well anyhoo, I just
figured out the answer to my question a few days ago while looking
up the Alert dialog in the Flex API. All I had to do was specify
the window the alert pops up in simply by doing this:

Until then I had no idea what the parts in bold were until I
looked it up out of boredom. Saved me some trouble and wasted

Is there a way to make cursors support more than 1-bit alpha transparency?

I made a nice cursor PNG, and then I load it into an ImageIcon, use getImage() to get an Image, then use Toolkit.createCustomCursor to make my cursor, set the cursor, and I get a disappointing ugly mess.
My cursor used a bit of transparency and looked quite nice, but it seems that some class along the way decided to make my translucent pixels opaque.
There isn't a way around this is there? And why do cursor's have to be 32x32 px?? I had to take my 16x16 one and throw it in a larger image......
I suppose I don't really need a custom cursor anyway though..

I would hope that application developers would learn from game developers, where HUDs are used ubiquitously.. Very usable and can be even 90% transparent or more.... it is all about contrast. There is a LOT of opaque DARK gray space in the Aperture HUDs, which could easily be much more transparent (even 50% would help). All you would have to do is keep the adjustment controls contrast up. i.e. Apples DVD Player Navigator.
Anyway.... it would be nice.

Hi! I made the code below to use together with another 2 codes. One that mounts a samba share and another that runs rsync with specific parameters. The script below runs after rsync complete its task.
The 3 codes help me to test my HTML/CSS/PHP/Javascript code changes.
This code works but I have to repeat it to each browser/app I want and a 10 lines script becomes 40 lines (Google
Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari). Is there a more elegant way to do that? I've tried to use an array/list but didn't work.

How to make menu with more chapters on one page

Hi all, I hope I can describe what I want correctly. I have checked all the templates available but can't seem to figure out how to do this. I have a dance studio video. There are 35 routines (chapters). I want my chapter menu to have many more entries than are available than the templates allow.
So, the top menu would have "play movie" and "chapters".
And, the Chapter (or scene selection) menu would have like 20 - 25 entries on ONE page. I do not need moving thumbnails. Is there a way to do this?

I did some experimenting. I created a sub menu, added movie after movie until I got this msg that said "you've hit the limit, continue anyway". hmmm... ok I said "continue anyway". I added 17 movies to one menu.
Upon "burn", "create TS_VIDEO folder", or "create disk image", it said I have to fix errors first. I checked the errors and it told me the max entries on a menu are 12. period.
so... that's the way it goes I guess. I think 12 will be ok with my client.

Can Time Machine backup more than just one disc?

I'm new to Time Machine and have set it up to back up my iMacs main hard drive and this seems to be working fine, but I would like Time Machine to back up one other folder on an external hard drive to.
Is this possible?

Time Machine can back up external HDs, if they're formatted for a Mac. See how the drive in question is listed in the exclusions box in TM Prefs > Options. If it's listed in black, just select it and click the minus sign at the bottom of the widow. Then it will be backed-up.
If it's listed in gray, though, that means it's not formatted for a Mac and Time Machine cannot back it up (and you can't remove it from the exclusion list). You'll have to copy the data elsewhere temporarily, reformat it, then copy the data back. See #1 in Formatting, Partitioning, Verifying, and Repairing Disks if you need formatting instructions.

In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them

ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns - How to solve this?

I got error message 'ORA-24335 - cannot support more than 1000 columns ' when i try to insert x no of rows for a table with following code:
INSERT ALL
INTO tableA Values ('A', 'B', 'C', 1, 2, 3)
INTO tableA Values ('D', 'E', 'F', 4, 5, 6)
INTO tableA Values ('G', 'H', 'I', 7, 8, 9)
SELECT *
FROM DUAL
How to solve above?
What does it really mean? It's not as easy as if my table has 10 columns than I can't insert more than 100 rows (1000 columns divided with 10 columns = maximun 100 rows to insert), or?
Is there a better/more appropriate way to do insert many rows?
Should I do my inserts with an OracleTransaction (My application is developed with C# and asp.net), as ~follows
BEGIN
INSERT INTO tableA Values ('A', 'B', 'C', 1, 2, 3)

I have the same problem inserting over 1000 values into my Oracle DB. The table only has 51 columns but to speed up the insert command, I use bulk inserts via insert all command. I need to insert 100 rows at a time for a total of 5100 values.
Example:

This is the error I get: ORA-24335: cannot support more than 1000 columns.
I need to insert about 879,500 rows (51 cols per row). The values I read from a text file in sets of about 48,000 and put them into a hash. I tried inserting one row at a time, but it takes too long, about 28 hrs! Then, I tried the bulk update with only 6 rows and the total time was about 25 minutes. Which is acceptable to us.

Import the CDs to iTunes one at a time, following these instructions.
Once the tracks are in your iTunes library, put them into a playlist, and get them into the order you want. Or if you by "scramble" you mean a randomly shuffled order, use the crossing arrows at the lower left to do so.
When you are ready, insert a blank CD, use the command File > Burn Playlist to Disc, and create an audio CD. I strongly suggest using CD-Rs rather than CD-RWs, since the latter often have trouble in normal CD players.

iTunes will group songs into an album when:
All songs have the same value for the Album and Artist field, or
All songs have the same value for the Album and Album Artist field
All songs have the same value for the Albumfield and the Part of a Compilation flag is checked.
If you want to group all the songs by one artist into a single "album" you can do so by following one of these rules. However, it may be more useful to create Playlists to group music like this and retain the original release information. One Smart Playlist for each artist you're interested in would meet this need without over-writing information about the source albums.

Will the new Intel "Conroe" chip in the upcoming Mac towers support more than 4 gig of RAM?
I score Orchestral and since the new VSL library is completely 24bit i need to at least be able to adress 8 gig of RAM (16 gig would be better
To APPLE: Guys please be aware that us Pro Users were always eager to adress those 8 gig of RAM in our G5s, but were dissapointed in the fact that Logic FCP etc, were never turned into 64 bit apps.....so adressing 4 gig was it for us........
I guess another way to ask the same question would be whether "Conroe" is 64 bit, as that is what is required to adress more than 4 gig of RAM.....

From what I've read Conroe will be 64-bit. A google search of "64-bit conroe" will give you a few sources and more info.

It doesn't need to be a 64-bit application. It just needs to have 64-bit memory addressing. Here is a good article if you're interested.

I don't have any experince with VSL, but I did have a quick experience with Kontakt 2 (I sold it). The Kontakt 2 forum has a post from the moderator that explains some issues around Kontakt's memory issues.

The complete rewrite of the audio engine might be the general issue with utilizing more than 4Gb of memory. But, I am not sure...I think there is another issue with how the OS handles memory usage.
