How to make KDE to support Thai language?

Hi, I wander if anyone can help me with this. I am looking for a guide for making KDE support Thai language. I know that Gnome support it, but not KDE. I cannot find KDE i18th package for Thai. Anyone can help with this? Many thanks.

Do you mean if I have to use Thai language, I have to build package from sourcecode. Well, package builing looks very complicated. I will run Gnome instead then, at least someone has already wrote guides on Wiki. I have to wait until Arch got Thai language package for KDE then I will go back to use KDEMod again.

    How can i make my photoshop support arabic language?

    You can swtich your Mac to view in Arabic by going to the Language & Text system preferences and then dragging Arabic to the top of the list. If Arabic is not in the list, then click the "Edit List..." button to enable it.
    This will make any program that is localized to Arabic appear in Arabic.
    Next, go to the Region section of these preferences and choose the one that best suits your needs. If you click the Show all regions checkbox then you will have options in this menu to view all Arabic regions as a submenu.
    Finally, go to the Input Sources section, where you can check various Arabic keyboard layouts to enable them. Then check the "Show Input menu in menu bar" option at the bottom of the window, which will place a small menu extra to the right of your system menu bar at the top of your screen.
    In this menu, you can select the enabled Arabic layouts, to use them if and when needed.

  • Does Oracle 9i Lite supports Thai language?

    We are developing mobile application[residing in a laptop] using java and Oracle 9i lite version [Release 5.0.2]. The application has English and Thai version. After we upload all the data[thai and english phrases] to Oracle lite from server [residing in Sun Solaris, Oracle 91] we were able to see the Thai characters in mobile, but for some phrases there is an extra English character amended to the phrase. We are not doing any char conversion here, just collecting the data from server and inserting to lite version DB.
    Entries in polite.ini are,
    [All Databases]
    DatabaseID=501
    DataDirectory=C:\oracle\ora90\Mobile\Sdk\OLDB40
    NLS_LOCALE=ENGLISH
    MessageFile=C:\oracle\ora90\Mobile\Sdk\BIN\OLITE40.MSB
    DBCharEncoding=Native
    When i ran through the release document for Oracle9i Lite Release 5.0.2, i can relalize that it is not supporting Thai language. Correct me if i am wrong.
    Did any of the latest Lite version supports Thai language. How about 10g? Or any alternatives is there in Release 5.0.2 itself.
    Thanks and looking forward for your reply.
    Best Regards,

    Hello,
    I am not sure to understand your question.
    Oracle Lite is a SQL Database , and you can access it from Oracle Application Server using the correct JDBC driver and then use the JSP Tag libs to access the data (JSTL SQL) or any JDBC API in J2EE.
    If I am not answering your question please add more details about what you are trying to achieve...

  • Does Adove FrameMaker 7.0 support Thai language?

    Hello,
    after creating a sample document with some Thai text, I save it as MIF 7.0 . There is a prompt saying that saving in this format will cause loss of information related to new features. Then, after reopening the file in FrameMaker instead of Thai characters i get question marks.
    I'm using Adobe FrameMaker v10 , Thai Kedmanee keyboards, my text is written using font that supports Thai characters (Angsana New) .
    So, ladies and gentlemen - is there anything i can do with this or FrameMaker 7.0 just does not support Thai language?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Your Angsana New is likely a Unicode font. When you type Thai characters in it, what goes into the document is 3-byte UTF8 from the U+0E00 codepoint block. These are completely different binary values vs. the 8-bit code page 874 legacy encoding for Thai overlay fonts, and may not even have the same ordering of glyphs in the block.
    You're going to need a legacy 8-bit Thai font, possibly Angsana code page 874, and you'll need to know the mapping. On Windows, you'll might even have to type them as Alt sequences, based on the {128-255 decimal?) values of the code points. Alternatively, Windows will have a keyboard mapping for code page 874.
    ISO/IEC 8859-11:2001, code page 874 is apparently not the same as TIS-620, if that matters.
    Now entering the Unicode parking lot.
    Do not back up.
    Severe text damage may result.

  • Anyone Could tell Apple to support Thai language, please.

    I'm in Thailand. The iPod are sold for a large amount. But long time the Thai support are not solved. The prior model can be craked the firmware to support Thai. The new 2nd generation iPod Nano is locked the firmware, Nobody can craked it.
    Why not Apple do the official firmware to support Thai language? This is a big problem to iPod user in Thailand. Many people sell the 2nd generation to get back to the older one that can craked it.
    Sincerely.

  • Which Language version of Indesign CC supports Thai language?

    Greetings,
    I'm trying to troubleshoot floating vowel characters in our selected font (Sukhumvit) in Indesign CC, and can't find which version I should be using to be able to mark my text as thai language. I can of course download any version, but right now am in the English/arabic version.
    The troubleshooting involves what can and can't be done in terms of tracking and kerning, and I'm helping to author guidelines for Thai usage for this font for global use.
    I'm running a Mac Pro (not the cool new one, yet) Mavericks 10.9.1 and using the most recent update for Indesign
    Please help?
    Thanks
    Mo

    I thought that Sukhumvit was a Mac system font, but I was of course completely wrong. Turns out it's an iOS system font, so I couldn't do any testing at all. I assume that you purchased the font directly from Cadson Demak, and I'd take my questions directly to them. It's probably a font build issue.
    If I were using a font where I knew the foundry wouldn't listen to my concerns, I might write a fistful of GREP styles that would remove tracking from the floating vowels. Or I might use Peter Kahrel's kerning table script. It's brilliant.
    But the most important bit is this: I would also write my style guide so that tracking wasn't indiscriminately applied to all writing systems. That strikes me as a no-brainer. Perhaps your default Latin-script font needs some brathing room at body text sizes in the language(s) you read, and the easiest way to get said breathing room in your workflow is to use tracking instead of a different font or careful kerning. but once again I'd rather use the kerning table script than just track everything willy-nilly.
    That being said, It's likely that I'll have to recommend that no tracking or kerning be used with this language. Our creatives won't like that at all, as they like to be able to control every facet.
    If your creatives can't read Thai then they should absolutely have that control taken away from them. I'm a localization wonk, not a "creative" so perhaps I'm judging a bit harshly, but if they want to "control every facet" then they'd best understand exactly how Thai is supposed to look - an understanding best achieved by literacy.

  • How to make my iPOD display thai fonts for thai songs?

    Hi,
    I'm Thai customer bought ipod nano from authorized dealer and I wonder why my iPOD cannot display thai fonts in music play list. How to solve this problem?

    Thank you for your advice. I just take a look and
    didn't see Thai language in my iPOD -*- hope to see
    some update to solve this problem from iPOD
    asia/thailand
    The language capabilities of the iPod are clearly stated in the tech specs for the product:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
    The languages for song display are more than just those for the interface.
    Nobody knows if or when Apple will come out with new iPods that expand this to include languages like Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Hindi, etc.

  • Does UTF-8 encoding support Thai language in Endeca Search?

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to configure Endeca search in Thai language. Does UTF-8 encoding on all the configuration files and for incoming data (Record Adapter) create issues with Thai character set? If yes, then please let us know which type of encoding will fix the issue? I am using the Endeca 6.4.0 for search configuration.

    Hi
    You should use the OLT analyzer as the Latin-1 analyzer doesn't support all the character codes used by the Thai language. Some words do not use these unsupported character codes, but many words will (any that contain tone marks), and searches for these will not return the correct results. Also the Thai language doesn't use whitespace segmentation so multi-term searches will not work correctly. Finally for ongoing support your best bet would be to use the officially recommended analyzer for this language, which is the OLT one.
    In terms of the unavailability of certain features, is there any one of those features that you require? Note diacritic folding is (I believe) scheduled to be added in the next release, however this shouldn't be required in Thai to the best of my knowledge as the diacritics are integral to the language. If you need one or more of the other features then I'd recommend raising an SR as the more customers require this for OLT analyzer languages the greater the likelihood that support will be added for this.
    Thanks
    Michael

  • Can iPod Nano Support Thai language?

    I just bought an iPod Nano, sync it with iTune. In iTune, Thai text came up fine, but after syncing it with iPod Nano, Thai text didn't turn up. Hope anybody will be able to help or at least just clarify that it simply doesn't support Thai? Thank you very much.

    There is a hack available that may let your ipod support Thai. See this FAQ for a link:

  • Why the iPod does not support Thai language

    Why the iPod does not support the Thai language? iTunes supports it. If I drag a song with ID3 tags into my iPod the title becomes blank. If I remove the ID3 tags the title displays but the enconding of the characters are inccorect.

    Why the iPod does not support the Thai language?
    The languages supported by the iPod are listed in detail in its tech specs:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
    Hopefully future versions will expand the list to included Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Vietnamese, Hindi, etc.

  • How to make Weather use my system language

    Hi all,
    My situation is kind of uncommon, but I would like to try to post here to see if anyone happens to know a solution. If I should not post this question (which is about sync between iPhone and Macbook) here, please let me know.
    Background:
    iPhone 6 plus (language is Chinese)
    Macbook Pro (language is English)
    The problem:
    If I add a new city in Weather on my iPhone in Chinese ( I had to add it using Chinese, btw), it shows as it is on my Mac. See picture below.
    I also noticed that I can add that city again on my Mac again, in English of course. See picture below.
    This happens in the other direction too. Adding a city on my mac in English, then it shows in English on my iPhone, and I can still add a Chinese version of that city.
    This is weird to me, because usually this should be designed as the same model with two different views (same thing in different languages), not two separated models.
    Please let me know if you know how Weather syncs data and/or how to solve this issue.
    === more: ===
    The behavior becomes even weirder if I add a city in one language on one device and then add the same city in another language on another device. Take the capital of France for example, I added '巴黎' (Paris in Chinese) on my iPhone (and it is synced to Mac), then I added 'Paris' on my Mac. To my surprise, the second entry shows as '巴黎' on my iPhone, not as 'Paris' (I now have two exactly same entries on my iPhone).
    And after I add another city on my iPhone, the second capital-of-France entry on my Mac becomes '巴黎' too. ( I think this is normal, as things are synced to another device when updated on one device).
    notes:
    - This also happens on the other direction.
    - This is not happening every time. Sometimes this bug shows up, sometimes not.
    - I found this behavior long ago. I'm pretty sure this is not only for the latest versions of iOS and Mac OS.

    Move the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> to the root of the other drive. Press and hold down shift as you launch iTunes and keep holding until asked to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl where X:\ is the drive letter.
    You should also consider making a backup of your library to an external drive.
    iTunes will still want to store iOS backup data on the system drive unless you use the following process to relocate it.
    Moving the iOS device backup location
    Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up, or with Start > Run on older Windows.
    To move the current backup folder from C: to X: (for example) type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "X:\Backup"
    Where <User> is your Windows user name.
    To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "X:\Backup"
    If your preferred drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "X:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
    If you have Windows XP then you'll need a third-party tool such as Junction to link the two locations together instead of the MkLink command. The source folder is C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

  • How to make tomcat 5 support SSL (https)?

    Hi,
    is there a way to make tomcat support SSL (https)?
    i using: Apache 1.3.33
    with : Tomcat 5.0.28-1.00RC2
    and : jakarta-tomcat-connectors-jk-1.2.6
    JDK: j2sdk1.4.0_04
    Many thanks
    Anatolia

    Thanks very much Sherbir,
    But JSSE is integrated into the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition, v 1.4 and above!
    here is what i'm facing:
    the documentation says:
    >
    It is important to note that configuring Tomcat to take advantage of secure sockets is usually only necessary when running it as a stand-alone web server. When running Tomcat primarily as a Servlet/JSP container behind another web server, such as Apache or Microsoft IIS, it is usually necessary to configure the primary web server to handle the SSL connections from users. Typically, this server will negotiate all SSL-related functionality, then pass on any requests destined for the Tomcat container only after decrypting those requests. Likewise, Tomcat will return cleartext responses, that will be encrypted before being returned to the user's browser. In this environment, Tomcat knows that communications between the primary web server and the client are taking place over a secure connection (because your application needs to be able to ask about this), but it does not participate in the encryption or decryption itself.
    I'm running running Tomcat as a Servlet/JSP container behind Apache 1.3.33 web server.
    So all SSL requests are handled by apache web server, but the problem I'm facing is that if i request any jsp page using https (ssl) i get plain text and it's not handled by tomcat!
    i have a test page called test.jsp:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>JSP test page</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>2 x 2 = <%= 2 + 2 %>
    </p>
    </body>
    </html> If I request this page using normal http request I get my results fine:
    2 x 2 = 4
    but if i request the page using https (ssl) I get a clear plain text of my jsp file content like this:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>JSP test page</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>2 x 2 = <%= 2 + 2 %>
    </p>
    </body>
    </html> Now how do I fix this problem and make apache passes the jsp file to tomcat if the request was https (ssl) and not send me cleartext of my file content!
    Many thanks
    Anatolia
