Trying to make a chart of "Causes of Death" from a database of people to see how many people died of each cause. I have a standard database with names listed vertically, and categories (last name, first name, age, cause of death, etc.) horizontally. Please help!

You can automate the generation of the list in Table 2, column A.
Add two columns to the right end of Table 1 (or use existing columns if there are two there already).
For the example, I'll assume they're columns P and Q.
In Q2, enter
=IF(LEN(D)>0,D,"")
and Fill down the rest of the column. (This copies the contents of column D to a column placed to the right of P, necessary for the VLOOKUP function in the formula used in Table 2.)
In P2, enter
=IF(COUNTIF($D$2:D2,D2)=1,MAX($P$1:P1)+1,"")
and Fill down the rest of the column. (This produces a running count of the distinct causes listed in column D, and marks the first occurrence of each with a serial number.)
Note that P1 may contain only text or the number zero.
Note that the function is quite literal—Whiskey and Whisky will be identified as distinct causes and counted separately.
On Table 2, in cell A2, enter:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(ROW()-1,Table 2 :: P:Q,2,FALSE),"")
and Fill down the rest of the column. (This looks up the serial numbers in column P of Table 1, and returns the cntents of the cell to the right of each one. The IFERROR part acts as an error trap to avoid error triangles where the formula looks for numbers larger than the highest serial number. "FALSE" in VLOOKUP will appear as "exact-match" in the formula when placed in the table.

How do I change my chart to show 100% instead of 16 000 %.
There are 165 respondences taking part in survey. WhenI I choose "perctntage" on X scale in makes 16 000%.
Same with marks on each chart - for example 15 300 %

Please reply with a screen shot of parts of your document. One screen shot of the graph (chart) and another screen shot of part of your data table.
Use shift command 4 and drag (shift command 3 for the whole window is often hard to read).

How to make line chart start at y-axis?

How do you make the series on a line chart start at the y-axis? I tried adding a data point for y(x=0), but the Xcelsius graph drops it and starts with y(x=1). How do I fix that? This is especially important for series that need to start at zero.

How to make waaveform chart cmpatible to access cluster of data

I am new to LV.. and the concept of Clusters..
I have one sample program of two channel oscilloscope..
The waveform control is having pink border...but when I am trying to do same thing..my control is coming with orange border..
What property do I need to change to make my waveform control compatible to a access cluster of input signals.

The color of a wire/control/indicator is indicative of the data type.
The pink color you are seeing means that your data is in a cluster.
The orange color you see means your control is either double or single precision float.
A cluster of data can be sent to an XY graph, but not a waveform chart/graph.
To use a cluster for an XY graph, you should have a 1D array of X data clustered with a 1D array of Y data.
I'm assuming this is not what your cluster is right now.
You probably have a cluster with both channels of data from your oscilloscope.
Use the 'unbundle' function to extract both arrays of data.
Then build an array of each of the two 1D arrays. Pass this newly created 2D array to a waveform chart, and you should be all set.

How to make chart scrollable?

Hi everybody,
I want to ask how to make a chart become scrollable (just like a chart with a scroll bar that help us see all content in this chart when this content become to large).
Because my line chart adding series data based on real time, so the content change dynamically. And when the content change, I don't want the axis change its size to fit the chart size, because it make the line chart smaller and narrow.
I have seen in JavaFx Ensemble the example *"Advanced Stock Line Chart Sample"*, it seem like what I looking for. But this chart clear the old data after a period. I want chart to keep the old data and when I want to review, just scroll back

Have you looked at ScrollPane.... http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/control/ScrollPane.html
You can just throw your chart in there. Then if your chart gets bigger then the screens dimensions the ScrollPane will become scrollable.

In simple terms, I would say that if you have define a group chart of accounts, you can get a consolidated report by preparing a financial statement version based on Group chart of accounts. Define the group chart of accounts (in the same line as you define operative chart of accounts) and assign the group chart of accounts in the operative chart of accounts. You can create GL accounts in group of chart of accounts for making entries on a consolidation base. Once you do this while creating the GL accounts in FS00, you will have an additional field of account number in Group chart of accounts. There you can give the GL account number created in the group chart of accounts. So whenever you make a posting to your individual company code GL accounts, the same will also get updated in the group chart of account GL account number.
I hope you have got a flair of things now.. Nevertheless, by simply proceeding in this line is not enough to have a true picture of things from the group point of view. There may be other things to consider like elimination of inter-company profits, losses, transfers, etc. For this purpose, you will have to go for additional installations like SEM-BCS, BI, etc.

How can I make a chart ignore cells until their value is changed from 0?

In the corresponding table, I used conditional formatting to hide zeros in the highlighted row by conditionally changing the text color to that of the table background. However, the zero value's are still represented in the corresponding chart as you can see in the attached photo . How can I make the chart ignore certain cells only until their values are changed from zero? Thanks in advance!

Hi Ryan,
Leave the cells empty until they're needed, or, if the cells' contents are determined by a formula, revise the formula to insert a null string if the value is zero.
=IF(your formula = 0, "", your formula)

I have 10 UiWebView to load different charts and maps on an iPad,using UIScrollView to scroll through each page, problem is on loading of each UiWebView my UiScrollView does not scroll smoothly to other pages horizontally,so how to make the scroll smooth?

I have 8-10 UiWebView's to load different charts and maps on an iPad, i am using UIScrollView to scroll through each page, problem is while loading of each UiWebView my UiScrollView does not scroll smoothly to other pages horizontally, my query is can i load UiWebView on background and how to make sure the scoll of pages is smooth, even though the loading of UiWebViews may take time.
Note :i have tried disabled scrolling on webview, so when i scroll on the page the scroll event will be of UiScrollView, so believe no conflict with UiWebView.
also in ios 6 i read about suppressesIncrementalRendering = True but i want to support ios5, also as UiWebViews are said to be running on main thread by default, i suspect when loading of webViews and when user tries to scroll the page, the main thread is busy, but i want the scroll of the page to be smooth even though the loading of UiWebViews may take time.

It is existing because to support the chart items your created in old versions of forms. However, you cannot use it for "Creating New Charts". It has become useless because, you have other powerful / more featured charting mechanism is available (one of which is BI Graph). So, why do you want to go for Old Chart Items, which has less features than using a full fledged BI Graph?

How to make beautiful intensity graph/chart?

I have one question for plotting the intensity graph using labview. I have ten bins
particle data (as attached, the first row is particle size which is y and the x is time, and the z is the particle concentration). I try to plot a intensity graph, but I got a very ugly picture. I use the property node but still don't get a good one. I want to know if the data is sufficient to make a nice plot and how to make it? Thank you very much.

How to make the values of a combination graph (bar and line) visible always

Hi ,
I am using jdev 11.1.1.6
i have created a combination graph which has a bar and line.
The data with respect to bar and graph were only visible when i keep the mouse pointer on it.
i need to set the values visible always.
kindly let me know how to make it.
In pie graph its by default showing the data always.

i tried adding them manually in source but it didn't work. so I assume that this property is good with pie chart alone.

Hi,
As a work around create a warehouse SelectWH and map the mandatory acoounts as a On hold account(in chart of accounts).So there will not be any posting on this account.
And set this warehouse as default warehouse for all users.
So without selecting the appropriate warehouse the user can not add the document.
I think this might resolve you issue.
