How to make Panasonic AJ-D230H deck work with Premiere CS3?

I've got a Panasonic AJ-D230 DVCPro deck with a Firewire board, and I'm trying to export to tape from Premiere Pro CS3 via Firewire, but it will not export audio whatever I do. It will export video, and I can capture both audio and video using the deck, but Premiere won't send audio to the deck.
I heard that the deck needed a firmware update to be compatible, so I sent it off and had it updated, but it still doesn't work. All the other DV decks I have around work fine with the Premiere system, just not the DVCPro deck.
Any help in configuration would be appreciated!!!

The only think I can think of is the Playback settings are set for computer sound, not External Device. But that would affect all attached decks, not just one.

In YAMAHA01v96i:
Go to DIO/SETUP select Generic DAW. Go to MIDI settings page and set the desired port (personally I use Number 1), Select the same audio frequency you use in your DAW (I use 44.1KhZ)...at this point You should save a scene in you 01V96i to avoid to repeat all the procedure again.
Open studio manager, go to patch and set the input port from 17 to 32 respectively to USB1-USB16 (this will give you the return from you DAW to the 01v96i
Save again the scene overwriting the old one.
in LOGIC
Click on preferences, select Audio then select 01v96i, then click on control surface and select Mackie design Baby HUI and in the midi session set the same port that you've been setting on the Yamaha 01V96i (Port 1 if you follow this example).
That's more or less it.

HOW TO MAKE A HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO DVD WITH PREMIERE CS2

I have been working with my CS2 Premiere to create some auto play high definition, audio-only DVDs that are autoplay. To clear the air, yes I know that CS4 will permit 24bit-96 kHz. For the time being 16 bit-48 kHz, is still better (marginally) than CD, but it permits greater playing times. Yes, I know that the autoplay without menues "feature" is bogus, and was never corrected by Adobe. So much for their interest in their customers.
I found a simple workaround for the autoplay/no menues feature. Just make a DVD-RW with menues. Then use DVD-DeCryper/Shrink/Nero - whatever to make an autoplay DVD onto a permanent disc. It works well.
Here is my latest crazy problem: How to get really long playing time. I know I can make high qualitye DVD-A's up to 3 hours using Minatonka Bronze. Unfortunately, DVD-A discs are worthless as they cannot play in 90% of DVD players, but they prove the time point.
I have three 48 kHz files that I created in Adobe Audion. The were 1.599, 0.911, and 0.974 GBs in size. That added up to 3.480. The playing time is about 2:30 Hours; quite a bit less than 3 hours.   I tried burning a DVD with these, audio-files-only. I checked lowest quality video, used no video, and got an Export To DVD error that I had "insufficient" space on the 4.7 GB disc! So, I used the two latter files, which added to only 1.884 GB. Premiere did not baulk, and it successfully burned a DVD that played. Then I added the 1.599 GB file, and, once again, it produced an error. This was clearly not going to work.
At this point, I realized that Audition had done what it liked to do: It had saved the 16 bit-48 kHz files as 32 bit-48 kHz! So, I went back to Audition and used EDIT to change the files to genuine 16 bit-48 kHz files. When I opened them in Premiere, Premiere reported 16 bit-48 kHz files. Their sizes were now, 0.799, 0.456, and 0.487 GB. Please note that this totals 1.742 GB. This is less than the 1.884 GB I had successfully used before.   Once again, I was getting the "inssufficient" space error. This is nuts. The disc can hold 4.3+ GB, but won't fit 1.742.GB.
So, anybody got some ideas?

I said nothing about any great sonic difference betweein 16/48 and 16/44 digital audio; I said "marginally."   In English that means very little difference. I'm not going to prove to you with distortion and frequency response plots that there is some minor difference, it is a fact of life. You, in fact, just stated a difference. The difference between a 24 kHz cutoff and a 22 kHz custoff is a difference which you give, to back up your absurd statement that there is no difference. This can actually translate to a minor, difference in THD at higher audio frequencies, but who cares?   Well, you apparently care, because your beligerant non-reply to my question was that "fewer...would notice ." In English that means that some would notice.
What my question had to do with MP3 junk, or multichannel sound, I don't know. Why should I do, as you suggest, and make DVD-A's when one needs only stereo? This is a Premier forum, not a DVD-A forum. Why not bother DVD-A junkies on Minatonka fourms? DVDs can handle stereo PCM very nicely. Classic Audio has marketed their 24/96 DADs for many years and so have a few other companies.   They have been well received by some "golden eared" types. I hope they don't upset you. There is a good possibility that DVD may only be around as a "legacy" feature on BLU RAY in future years. DVD-A was DOA years ago and SACD may go just away; DVD-A is almost that. So, PCM stereo sound DVD's are a good bet that the resultant disc will be playable on many people's players as well as future players. The longer playing time that may be available would make listening to concerts easier, rather than breaking them up into segments.
If you want to argue my motives, or tastes, I suggest you go to another forum and discuss you theories. If you actually have something productive to say about the problem I pointed out, that would be welcome.

I know that the accessHW is necessary for it, so I downlaoded the
this file from the homepage of NI, but there are always some problems
with it.
My program should get the the voltage impulse between
the pins DTR and RTS of a COM interface. After
I installed accessHW under winNT, the voltage between them changed
automatically from 0 mV to about 24 mV , and program
worked well . But this way does not work under Win98 and Win2000,
and this voltage is always 0 so that the device can not make any voltage
impulse.
Could someone give me a software solution for it? Thanks!
P.S:The version of the labview I use is 6.1.

You shouldn't depend on a voltage difference between the tow pins unless you need something like 24 volts and not 24 millvolts. All of the signal lines are referenced to ground and the signal lines usually swing between -3 to -12 and +3 to +12 volts. If you truly saw a 24 millivolt difference between two signal leads, then all that means is that they are both at the same logic state. A difference of 24 millivolts is not much and has to do with the UART in your computer and not accessHW I believe though maybe what happened is that the difference is 24mv when both are logic "1" and less when logic "0" or vice versa. If your device requires power from the serial port, then what you'll have to do is control the signal lines in your program and I
would recomend VISA to do that instead of inport/outport. And check the voltage requirements of your device. If this is a device you designed, it should be designed for the lower voltages on new pc's and laptops. In other words, I would depend on 3 volt signals instead of 12. There are numerous references to either RS-232 or EIA-232 on the web. I think a review of the electrical specifications is needed.

Couple of options. You seem have to taken the Access Gate based approach. I will throw this in any way and you can make a call which one you want to use.
If its a web application you can control authorization based on Resource by defining policy in the Access Manager.
You mentioned aout display of one area in one page. That should be driven off of User attribute or custom logic. If it is driven off of User attribute then you can return header variable and you can check in the code as opposed to writing custom access gate.
Now if you do want to write custom access gate when the resource is already protected by a Web gate,
you can get the ObSSOCookie from the users browser session.
You can pass the URL to the IsAuthorized method and call.
Now here you have to install the Access Server SDK on the server, create custom access gate and then write the code and deploy it on that server.

So I've acquired a new MBA. I didn't really want to considering all the issues out there (of which so far the volume fluctuation issues applies to me as well), but on Friday I need to bring some kind of laptop with me on a trip to record a song for a wedding next month. And for that, to make it worse, I need Winblows.
So I got the Windows 7 Enterprise evaluation ISO. I let Boot Camp modify it and write it to a USB stick.
But when I boot into the thing, I never get to actually install Windows, because I get "Install Windows": "Windows Setup encountered an internal error while loading or searching for an unattend answer file."
What to do??!?!!

Seems there are some differences between DVDs for Windows 7 that the Apple tool doesn't know how to handle?
The image I used to install with was the "7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_OEM_Ultimate-GRMCULXFREO_EN_DVD.iso " one — I believe I downloaded this from Microsoft at some point when they had it up for developer trials or something?
The MD5 sum of that image is dad9f7a0b4d5d928a6a67ba6cd896350. You can check yours in Terminal by writing "md5 <path to your image file>".
Perhaps if yours is different, you can find that other image online somewhere.

I have a X-Fi extreme music & an upgrade kit.{ remote & receiver} The remote will allow me to select music tracks under the the entertainment center, but will not control the volume. I can push +-or - volume all day long, but it always says 00% and dosn't change in intensity. Any Ideas?

I take it you have used the youp-pax software? If not, then do so. Install revision 2. I did this and my remote is fully working once more.
Must admit I am a little annoyed creative did not provide a link to youp-pax for people wanting to update their drivers. They could have said it was use at your own risk etc, but instead I had to waste two weeks fiddling with vista until I discovered it.

How to make the rating/flagging feature work with impromptu slideshow?

I have LR 5.2 and when I review newly imported images with an impromptu slideshow to rate and flag the image in the slideshow, the relevant "flag as pick" or "set as rejected" notification shows on the screen but at the end of the slideshow only the first image is picked or rejected and the rest remain unchanged.
I have tried the fix that adobe published for 5.0 - changing the ui.dll but that fix prevents LR5.2 from loading alltogether.
Any suggestions please?

the ui.dll is for 5.0 only, not compatible with 5.2, and since the fix was incorporated in 5.2, ui.dll is no longer needed.
Unfortunately, I can't help with the pick flags - they sorta work on my copy, but slideshow has been so problematic for me for so long that I just don't use it. In the tests I just did for you to check the pick flags - first test: the pick flags did not work correctly (behavior as you stated), the rest of the tests the pick flags worked properly, but something else didn't. e.g. which monitor was used changed between tests, and the manual slideshow became automatic at full speed. In all tests the color/tone are off.
Lr's impromptu slideshow is useless for me - made worse over time, not better.
Sorry I've not been more help, but that's all I got...
PS - I use ShowBiz for in-Lr slideshows - has not all the bells/whistles, but at least it works, and it's full-screen (in Lr5) too, which I like.

it took me some days, but now I've found the solution:
1. Although the OAS 4.0.7 seems to work fine on a 2.2-Kernel,
the PL/SQL-Cartridge will definitely never work!!!!!!
I don't know exactly why, but I've installed all
relevant libs, but it won't work, whatever I do.
2. I've installed the OAS on an old 2.0.36-Kernel (SuSE 6.0),
and everything works fine!
The only thing you have to take care of is to set the
domainname BEFORE installing the OAS. The installation
procedure queries 'domainname', not 'dnsdomainname' to
get the domain. And if you don't have YP configured by
chance, your hostname will look something like
'myhost.(none)' in every OAS configuration file
(and there are a lot), which prevents the ORB from starting.
I hope that will help someone out there

How to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both?

See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
/images/image.jpg to document-relative?
That is, to
../images/image.jpg or
../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link? I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.

Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url, which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!

My Epson is able to do scans using Image Capture without any problems at all.

I used to have Oracle8i on my machine and it worked fine with both PHP and ASP on IIS5. Then I decided to change to Oracle9i. So I install Oracle9i in seperate home. And they worked fine. But one day I couldn't access some of my websites via "localhost/mywebsite". And I thought there is something wrong with IIS coz I ran very huge queries. So I reinstall IIS5. Then everything crash. PHP and ASP can't work with OCI. So I uninstalled every Oracle component (database and services) and PHP out of my machine. Then I installed Oracle9i database, redownload "php-4.3.1-installer.exe" , and install PHP.
Since I can't seem to find "php_oci8.dll" in "c:\php\" after I installed, I assume that oracle9i must provide OCI and I found the file "oci.dll" in "c:\OraHome9\Bin" directory. So I changed the extension directory in php.ini to
extension_dir = "c:\OraHome9\Bin"
And it still doesn't work. I'm kinna new to ASP so I don't know how to fix this problem.
