How to make SoundDiver respond to USB Midi?

(Sorry, vague title) I've finally borrowed a friend's XSKey for the simple task of moving/editing patches on my JV1010. SoundDiver opens and functions (mostly) on MacBook 2GB 10.5.2, but how do I get the 1010 (or Sounddiver) to listen to the notes coming off my Oxygen 8 keyboard so I can actually "play" the patches? I haven't used SoundDiver since OS 9 and can't find the preference. The Oxygen is working fine in other apps and is set to Channel 1.

But as I type, the dot can be shifted since it is pushed by the entry value --> 192.168.111.111
Do you have any idea for this ?

Dear all,
Currently I have to create a text field for IP Address entry.
I have used MaskFormatter and JFormattedTextField.
I have a problem, on how to make my JFormattedTextField responding with dot entry, to move the cursor to the next segment of the IP Address.
e.g.
IP Address want to be inputted = 192.168.1.2
Keyboard to be pressed = [1][9][2][1][6][8][1][.][2]
Currently, after [1], I have to press my arrow key, or click by using mouse to go for the last segment.
Can you please help me ?

How to make subview respond to touches?

If I make a UIToolbar a direct subview of my ViewController.view, it responds to touches and buttons will call selector methods.
Now let's say I have a subclass of UIView called myToolbarSubclass.
I have instantiated a UIToolbar and made it a subview of myToolbarSubclass.
If I make myToolbarSubclass a subview of my ViewController.view, the UIToolbar no longer responds to touches.
How do I regain touch capability in my UIToolbar?

Make sure the frames of all the views and the toolbar are correct. I've seen cases where a button stopped working because its origin was actually outside it's parent view. Even though the button appeared on the screen it appeared to not work. Once the button was moved properly inside the confines of its parent view it worked again.
So maybe your toolbar isn't positioned properly or the toolbar's parent view isn't positioned properly within the view controller's view.

How to make Microphone Echo with USB SB Digital Music

I just purchased USB Soundblaster Digital Music SX for my notebook.
I personally purchased this one for my recording music and karaoke.
I check on the "Creative Audio Center" that it doesnt have a profile / EQ for Microphone Echo-ing.....
Is there anyone out there has or try to make the microphone does echo?
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium?

Bridge Issue: CS6 Unresponsive, how to make it respond?

2 second lag after clicking on any menu item.
4-8 second lag after right clicking on any image.
3 second lag while selecting images with arrow keys.
2 second lag selecting multiple images
My system is high performance:
. 12 Core 3.3Ghz Xeon Processors
. 24GB RAM
. Primary drive is 8 SSDs in a RAID0 configuration
. Dual nVidia Quadro FX5400
. OS: Win7 x64
CS5 and CS5.5 were very “snappy” in responsiveness on this system. CS6 Bridge works fine on my laptop, perfectly responsive.
Once Camera RAW or Photoshop are open, no issue working in these tools, so, the issue is bridge.
Here’s my debugging steps which have not worked to fix the issue:
Installed the latest camera RAW plug in from Nikon. Nikon D800 RAW .NEF files work in windows explorer and in CS5.5.
Installed all windows updates
Installed the lastest nvidia FX5800 card drivers
Uninstalled all Adobe products (reader, media player, etc.)
Uninstalled all plugs ins (HDR, noise, etc.)
Checked there are no fonts on the system (no TTF files)
Uninstalled Office 2013 to make sure there were no system font issues.
Uninstalled all Nikon software except the RAW plug in.
Deleted C:\Program Files\Adobe and C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
Searched for any Adobe reference in c:\Users\<my_username>\ (example AppData), and deleted it.
Cleaned the registry of any reference to Adobe or any dll related to Adobe or an Adobe plug in.
Rebooted multiple times.
Re-installed CS6 Master Collection. At this point it did not recognize my raw photos (.NEF from a Nikon D800).
Installed all Adobe Updates.
The updates fixed the camera raw issue
Ran FontTest.jsx – all fonts passed, none failed.
Tried Preferences:
Advanced -> Use Software Rendering : CPU utilization went up, but, no impact on the lag
Startup Scripts : Disabled all but Photoshop CS6
Increased Cache Size, Compacted Cache, Purged Cache, Different Cache organizations, etc.
Does anyone know how to fix this

I talked to support on Thursday and was told that someone would call within 3 days.
Of course no-one did. Adobe have gotten too big and when that happens support becomes bad, very bad.
The last problem I had with bridge was all the 'file type associations' were lost. I thought being a paying customer I will call on their help. Again Crap support, kept telling me the same thing set each one up individually. In the end I found a registry hack that sorted the problem out.
I’m all up for being legal and pay a lot of money on software making sure I am but I do understand that when a large company offers such bad support why people start thinking why pay.
Surely part of the Cloud subscription I pay should enable me to get support others who use the software illegally don’t get. Of course in reality I don’t. I don’t get any useful support.
I have to repeat myself for every department, wait around for calls that never come and hunt the forums for people who seem to do better jobs in informing others of how to solve problems.
I will keep updated on the problem as I know more. I will also like anyone else who is having to problem to message here.

How to I make Photoshop Album Starter Edition STOP automatically scanning & displaying the images/contents of flash/external drives that get connected? I've looked in Preference and don't seem to find anything that applies.
Being able to open PA-SE and TELL it to scan a drive for images (and display thumbnails) is one thing...I DON'T want it doing so all on it's own.

i have already done this - agree with tia - best to be able to tell it to do something (i had three different programs trying to upload images at the same time - nightmare!)
however, is there a way to remove icon from bottom r.h corner completely? it seems unnecessary to have something 'ready' all the time when i rarely upload photos!
(i know how to remove it temporarily by "rht click, exit", but it will reappear everytime i start up

I need to make this work in Labview, so i can read the position for the rotary encoder by angle. I can't find anny tools in Labview that does this.

There are some examples in LabVIEW's Example Finder (Help menu -> Find Examples...) that might help. Try Hardware Input and Output -> DAQmx -> Counter Measurements -> Position. These examples are usually a great place to start. I looked at "Meas Angular Position-Buffered-Finite-Ext Clk.vi" which looks like it may be of help to you. You can also limit the example finder to only find examples that pertain to your hardware (USB-6211) by configuring the "Hardware" dropdown in the lower left-hand corner of the example finder. If you are browsing, check the "Requirements" list in the lower right-hand to see if a particular example works with your DAQ.

How to make disk utility erase usb disk fast

I put in my cheap 3.7GB Universal Serial Bus (USB) into my eMac and i open up disk utility. But when i get to the erase tab and name my drive, i click erase, i press okay to confirm that i want to erase it and then it is on the partitioning part of the erase and it is stuck in the same place and will stay there all day and not make any progress. Is there anyway to skip this so that i can skip this or an app that will erase my usb because i need it for school.

Should you face a situation where you need to erase a USB quickly, instead
of using Disk Utility, just drag all the content you do not want to the Trash,
and Empty it before you eject the USB flash drive or other device.
By dragging only the content to Trash, and Empty, you do not need to reformat.
This saves some time/trouble. Sometimes you may have to reformat one of
these, from my experiences with cheaper ones, by then they may have failed
already and don't know it yet.
Even though the older eMac has USB1.1, later has 2.0, even a Drag to Trash/
Empty may take a little time; but no where near the time it may take to attempt
to erase using Disk Utility.
A USB flash drive nor a SSD should ever be secure erased and some makers
say not to do it (where zeros overwrite content) as that isn't good.
If you are the only user of a flash USB drive or thumbdrive, then the fast way is
the best. In the case of a cheap and non-durable one, you could physically
destroy it when done; if it doesn't do that all by itself.
Hopefully the adventure has been worthwhile...

I'm using m-audio keystation 49e and I can get all the different instruments but I can't get Garagebend to recognize the instrument I'm playing, the musical typing function and the playback play it as #0 acoustic piano. I was messing around with it and may have accidentally pressed a button to make it work because I've got one track with timpanis that is working fine.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking - but GarageBand doesn't know about program changes. It's one track, one instrument. And it doesn't know what instrument you want it to play unless you select one.

Looking for instructions on how to make a bootable OSX USB thumb drive?
My mid 2009 MacBook Pro has a bad Hard Drive and I am going to start over with a new one. I keep getting an error message attempting to install on the current hard drive. In order to make it easier I would like to make a bootable USB Thumb drive get a new hard drive and start from scratch.
ALSO - any hard drive recomendations would be greatly apprecieated. (vendor and MFG)

thanks, I never use WD. I used to work in computers and the WD drive was the most failed drive we would see. I only ask because I guess at some point I did not build the current drive correctly causing damage. I am starting to think about a new computer due to the optical drive now being dead as well.
My only concern about a SSD is the transfer rate. From what I have looked at the current config for a mid 2009 MBP will not get the max speed out of a SSD due to the wire rating in the machine. Any thoughts on a normal disk HD?

How do you connect a USB MIDI keyboard to iPad Air?

I can't get my USB keyboards to connect to my iPad Air. I used to use the camera connection kit with my 1st gen iPad and it worked perfectly. Now when trying to connect using my camera connector plugged into a lightning to 30 pin adapter with the iPad Air I get no response when trying to use my keyboards with Garageband, etc. This seems like a step backwards!!!
Can anyone advise on how to use a USB MIDI keyboard with the iPad Air?

I just read on another forum that someone managed to connect a midi device using a simple converter.
I have a digital piano with the square type USB connector, bought an adapter to convert the iPad Air's ligtning USB cable's USB end to that square connector, plugged it in, GarageBand did not respond to the Midi input.
on a macbook pro it works ok, but would be nice to use the iPad now that I bought it...

hi i've bought the Lion USB Thumb Drive because my internet connection is super super slow.
now, the Lion USB Thumb Drirve arrived is super small and fragile because it's a Mini-B type USB connector, with all the metal exposed.
So I try to make a backup copy of it onto another USB drive.
wondering anyone know how to do it?
all the internet resourse I can find only teach how to make a USB from the downloaded version, but I don't have the downloaded version, so the method taught doesn't work because there is no "InstallESD.dmg" inside it.

After you install Lion, use: Lion Recovery Disk Assistant
It's not the Install Disk, but it has the ability to Install Lion OS X
You can also try:
Open up Disk Utility and Click on the "Restore" tab, choose the Apple Lion Install USB as the source and your flash drive as the destination. Hit the Apply button and it may create a bootable USB drive. (the flash drive must be formatted as GUID)

If your BC Assistant shows the option to create a USB Installer, it automatically is marked as bootable. There is no need to have manual intervention to make a bootable USB. Once the process is manually modified, it is supported by the person modifying it.
You have two or three options (depending on your Mac Model).
1. Create USB... - Use a USB2 flash drive, which is erased and formatted. If your Mac supports ISOs then BCA will prompt for the Media. Any Mac which does not have a built-in Optical drive will support an ISO. There are specific Mac models which support both, DVD and USB based installation.
2. Download Software from Apple servers...
3. Install Windows...
Are any additional instructions really necessary?
