How to make the buggy DR8-A HD Burn work?

My HD Burn simply don't work. I have change to another new drive from
the shop that I bought the DR8-A, but still the same!!!
It is always the error - power calibration error when I am burning a 700MB
with HD burn (tried SmartBuy, Sony and Imation, all cannot work)
I done testing with the Nero provided and latest Nero 6.3.0.3.
Actually I fancy this drive over TDK AID 880NA because of HD-Burn!
Can someone please share how to burn with HD-Burn? Any special medium?
MSI, can you please do something? Reply us with a FAQ or something helpful?
I think this is the worse MSI product that I have bought.
I used to be a fan of MSI, my whole PC consists of MSI parts.
Now my impression of MSI products changed big time.
How to make this HD Burn work?! Anyone got any comment or information?

I have the MSI DVD DR-8A and i've already burnt over a dozen HD-burn CDs without any problem
My only road block was to find how to use it with nero (it is presented as a different type of disk), but after i read nero doc and chose the right option, it has been flying. I'll report on my media later (i dont have them here).
Edit: I've used
- FujiFilm CDR 80minutes 24x
- Memorex CDR 80 mins 48x
No problem with either, burnt at the maximum 24x HD burn speed.
My only gripe with HD burn is that it does not allow any overburning. Not a bit over the 1400Meg limit. not a big problem, though.
Also, be cautious on WHAT you burn. CD are not a very good archival method. They can degrade quite fast and i would bet that HD-burn, being more precise, is more sensitive to those degradations too.

I have an EJB that gets a database connection. At the moment, if it can't get a connection, it waits there for 3 minutes, which is unacceptable. I would like to throw an exception or somehow limit the timeout period. When I found this setLoginTimeout method I thought my troubles were over. But no matter what I set it to, it still blocks and waits about 3 minutes.
I have tried this with MSSQL7 databases, and Sybase databases, using all the inet drivers available and also jConn52 driver (for Sybase). But with no luck (despite inet saying Opta supports this method)
Is it that no drivers yet support this method? If so, could you point me in the direction of some drivers (MSSQL7 and Sybase Server ) that support this method? Otherwise, could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

[SOLVED] How to make the volume knob on my headset work

I have a Turtle Beach PX3. It's a USB wireless headset. I got the sound working and everything and I can control the volume through the XFCE mixer or the ALSA mixer but I would like to be able to use the physical knob. On Windows 7, it just sends a signal to bump up the volume in the software mixer much like the volume controls on a keyboard would. For the short time I used Xubuntu 12.04 it recognized that I was moving the knob (it popped up a volume bar) but it seemed to be adjusting the wrong thing because the volume didn't actually change. On Arch, it doesn't do anything. I'm just did a fresh install and I'm running XFCE with just straight ALSA but I wouldn't be objecting to trying out PulseAudio or something if it would help (though I've never set this up in Arch so I may need a little help).

Nevermind, got my Google-fu on and the package was xorg-xev. It recognized when I moved the knob.

How to make the Send To function from InfoView work for Email etc?

Dear Colleagues,
Which plugin is missing for sending by email? When I choose Send To > Email I get the following message:
The destination plugin required for this action is disabled. If you require this functionality, please contact your system administrator. The same goes for FTP Location and File Location as well.
Hope someone can help!

Hi,
BO Administrator has to give access for you for sending a report to mail / other users. If you have admin access then goto CMC -> Servers -> Click on Properties of Adaptive Job Server -> Click on Destination -> Add all your destination (Email,FTP etc.)
-> enter Configuration details for email etc else send a mail to your admin if possible with screen shot for the access.

In firefox 4 RC, some addons installed suddenly disappear, but checking the profile, some of the missing addons related files are still here, how to make the addons back?

I use firefox 4 form beta 9 to RC (zh) now and there are also firefox 3.6 installed in computer. One day when I open Fx 4 RC, some (actually a lot but not all) of the adoons just disappear. When I check on about:addons page, some addons installed do not appear in the list.
The addons '''REMAINED''' including:
* addons I already used in Fx 3.6 (like webmail notifie , xmarks)
* ''addons only can use in Fx 4'' (like Open Web Apps for Firefox).
The addons '''DISAPPEARED''' including:
* addons I already used in Fx 3.6 (like yoono)
* '' addons installed when using Fx 4'' (like updatescanner, Thumbnail Zoom).
But when I check the profile(by Help > Troubleshooting Information>Open Containing Folder) , some (not sure is it all) of the missing addons related files are still here [lucky], so any one know how to make the missing addons back?

* This happened when i use RC for already a few days and keep on even i restart Fx and windows.
* The bookmarks, history, search engine and even themes and icon setting are still here. [ I only sync bookmarks but not history for both xmarks and firefox sync.]
* This addons are really '''disappeared''' but not disable only!
* This number of addons missed, as i remember, at least 30, should be more than that number bacause some of them are installed but in disable mode.
* I try to install back one of the addons - Stylish, the installed code are still here.
* It is nearly an impossible mission to install every missing addons again, as it really kill my time.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

Hello everybody. I am a web designer (NOT a developer)
I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.
I have used phpform.org/ to custom build a submission form. Then I opened that html in dreamweaver (so that I could edit colors, fonts, and delete the phpform.org advetisement)
Now I need to link the 'submit button' so that it will e-mail me the completed form.
(formphp.org wants me to subscribe to a servie that I pay for in order to have the form e-mailed to myself.)
(after I get the submit button linked to an e-mail I will pull the html of my completed form into Muse- but I don't think that is really relevent)
I'm sure one of you can help point me in the right direction! I can't write my own code so detailed help is appreciated!

I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder. Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
     <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
I'm assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code. Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names. It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

How to make the text in sub-division

Hi,
I am usign text module in my adobe forms.
Text in text module contains sub-divisions as a), b) and c). Each sub-division are in a separate line.
While in pdf, all the sub-division combines and comes a single paragraph.
What would be the problem for this issue? Any Idea?
May I know how to make the text in sub-division as in text module?

Hello, experiment with Object - Field tab. Do you have your text field with "allow multiple lines" checked? I guess so. And what about the field format? Plain text or Rich text? Please try:)) Regards, Otto

Do you understand how to make the Slider work using code to read its value? You will need to look into that in order to do this.
What you can do is have the yello rectangle be a movieclip that sits over the red rectangle and use the Slider to control the yellow rectangle's alpha property from 0 to 1. That way the yellow will gradually fade as you slide.
What you will then need to do is figure out how to make the number of dots that appear reduce from 15 to 8 over the same range of the slider. You need to use the fractional value from the slider to decide how many dots either appear or do not appear.

How to make the Page UP and down work on a table control screen?

Dear all,
Can some one suggest how to make the table control screen work with Page Up and Page down controls.
when I press on Page down it works for the first time and after that i need to select the table to make it work the second time. it there a way I can make the index on the screen stay on the table control at all times.

I would like to know how to make the main() thread wait for another thread?If I use wait() method in main() method it says "non-static method wait() cannot be referenced from a static context",since main()
is static.

If your BC Assistant shows the option to create a USB Installer, it automatically is marked as bootable. There is no need to have manual intervention to make a bootable USB. Once the process is manually modified, it is supported by the person modifying it.
You have two or three options (depending on your Mac Model).
1. Create USB... - Use a USB2 flash drive, which is erased and formatted. If your Mac supports ISOs then BCA will prompt for the Media. Any Mac which does not have a built-in Optical drive will support an ISO. There are specific Mac models which support both, DVD and USB based installation.
2. Download Software from Apple servers...
3. Install Windows...
