How to make things smaller on Tiger?

I just got a Titanium from ebay, and things look a bit big to be honest, I was wondering if it is possible to make the fonts on the menu bar applications...look smaller! Or even a hack to make the resolution get higher than the native resolution.

Hi, Nomad.c. If your Tibook is set for its native (highest) resolution, that's all you can do. Early Tibooks had 1152 x 768 displays; later ones 1280 x 854. No LCD display can be hacked to simulate a higher resolution than the actual number of pixels in the LCD: it is what it is.
I don't know of any way to reduce the size of menubar or menu text, or of the labels for icons on the desktop or in Finder windows or the Dock.

How to make a small finance application in oracle?

Hi all
I am an oracle dba but one of my friend's asked me to make a small finance application for his company which can use small calculation/accounts. I know plsql and some understanding for Forms etc . where should i start? please note that logical design of database is done. Making database and tables etc is not issue for me. The issue is how to design front end and what tools to use?
An other query is. if he can use this application free on oracle or he has to buy some licence from oracle. please note that he is running a very samll charity organization?

I scanned color document - how can make them smaller by Distiller

Dear friends,
I scanned documents and saved them as pdf format ....and everything was ok....but now i have many documents and my hard disk is full now because i was scanning documents as color not black & white ( that's my fault I must scan document as black & white ).
now i am thinking to use Acrobat Distiller to make documents smaller .
I opened the document and printed it using distiller but the output still big.
how can I make files smaller ....please help me

Don't fret; it's easy to compress files in Acrobat! Just go to Advanced > PDF Optimizer. Tick Images and reduce the compression quality, making sure JPEG has been selected.

How to make things more compact?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and made fresh install and when I was at it, I decided to download new Skype as well. But it is unusable for me, the contact list expanded and even when I disable profile pictures (I cannot make them smaller) the contacrts are far away from each other... And the chat bubbles are huge... I like Skype Window small with compact texts but even if I run it in full screen on 1920×1200 monitor I see 90% of empty space and 10% of text... Is there a way to remove all the gaps in chat and contacts without installing old version?

Excel output file size is large - How to make it small in size?

Hi,
An Excel file out put is too large when I get it from application. If I copy and paste the same content in an excel sheet , the size is too small.
How can I fix this?
Excel output size from application - 12.4 MB - 4500 records
copy paste file size - 827 KB
Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2
BI Publisher Desktop Version - 10.1.3.4.2

BIP generates an XHTML output with mime-type xls and thus Excel is invoked when it is downloaded. XHTML is text and therefore it is lenghty. When you copy and paste it in Excel you save it in binary format and compress.
My suggestion is create an excel template instead of rtf. Not sure if this is possible for EBS (open a ticket with Oracle Support to confirm you can use excel templates in EBS the version you have).

In this way your output will be a truly binary file with size much more smaller.

How to make things other than text hyperlinks

I was looking to make a group of pictures link to some bookmarks but have so far failed. While making a simple box then filling the background with an image, then filling the box with space characters and then selecting the spaces to link to a bookmark, works in iBook Author,
it does not do so when I preview, or export to iTunes.
I'm using an iPad 3/new ipad. Any help in creating images that act as hyperlinks would be grand!
Also while some links work in landscape somehow the link gets messed up and no longer works in portrait orientation.
I miss the days where you could run over to your apple store and have your questions answered, I thought maybe a genius would help, but alas this a new age and they don't know s**t
In short, is the only way to link to bookmarks through simple text?

As for portrait....layout in landscape, edit in portrait. Duplicate where needed to make portrait work as required.

You can reduce the file size by exporting
File -> Export. The Jpeg Quality setting is the one to use.

How to make things visible offstage

Hi all,
I did it once before long ago, but can't remember how it worked;
I'm trying to allow all things oitside of the stage peramiters to be visible in the browser screen so certain elements can be longer than the stage and still be shown. Any ideas? Can't remember if it's a flash thing or an html thing.

How to make it smaller

My internet browser is HUGE. The font's huge,the pics are all out of whack and a lot wider than they should be. How do I fix this? I've tried zooming out/in,etc,nothing works. What setting to I use to fix this? I've checked monitor display,etc as well,nothing's working.

Check that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode or with a reduced screen resolution.
You can check that in the "Compatibility" tab in the Properties via the right-click context menu of the Firefox desktop shortcut.
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

hi. i have a standard html form with quite a few elements
(selects, radio buttons, input fields, text areas etc)
some users will need the ability to supply additional data
but i only want the fields for this additional data to appear upon
request (to keep the form clean looking for the majority of users)
i want to make it when users click on an "add more detail"
button then the screen goes 'greyed out' and a new form appears
roughly 350px x 350px centred on their screens. ive seen this done
quite a lot recently and was just about to google javascript
tutorials to get started, then it occured to me i may be able to
utilise cf8's ajax tags to achieve this (which would be handy as i
really struggle with anything other than v basic javascript)
my requirements are:
1 button (or link) in my standard form that launches the
'more detail' form in a ?layer? over the top of the existing
content
2 when this happens the existing content is 'greyed out'
preventing uses from interracting with it until they either
complete this new form (or click the close button in that new form)
3 this form is to contain 2 text inputs and a submit button
4 i want to pass the data from this form back to the original
form when it is submitted (temporarily storing the data in hidden
fields within the original form) and will then ultimately pass this
back to the server when the original form is submitted
does anyone know if cfajax can help me with this (i dont need
the asynchronous server interaction stuff ajax offers only the
javascript to make my form pop up etc)
if not does anyone know what this behaviour is commonly
termed so i can google for it
