  • How to make a WORKING J2ME Web Services client?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to make my first J2ME client for web services (well, I need it for my degree thesis, so I'm a little bit DESPERATE) but I've got a lot of problem that I don't understand, even with samples downloaded from web tutorials and from xmethods.net.
    The problem is with the generation of Stub classes:
    if I try to make the Java Wireless TollKit 2.2 to generate them and then I run the midlet in the JWTK emulator there's no problem, but when I try to do the same thing with the Nokia Developer's Suite 3.0 I've got a lot of problems, first of all the java code generated for the stub is very different from the first one, it seem like a C# or J# code (and obviously Eclipse says that it's full of errors), so when I try to make the jar and jad files it doesn't work (because is not a right java code), so I made the stub classes using the JWTK2.2 Stub Generator and then I used the Nokia Dev's Suite 3.0 to build and package the midlet, but it says that it's not able to find the "class or resource javax/xml/rpc/Stub" even if the resource is present and used exactly as all the other packages, and it creates a jar file with just some of the classes but not all. At the end I tryed to run in the nokia emulators the midlet created by the JWTK 2.2, but it doesn't start, so I put the midlet on two diffent Nokia phones (6600 and 6630, because I need to make my client work on the 6630) but it seems to make the virtual machine to crash. I erased all the code lines invoking the stub classes and added them again one by one, until the midlet stoped again to work, and I understand that the problem seems to be with the invocation of the costructor of the stub class, but it doesen't make no sense, because the same code works properly on not-Nokia phones and emulators. I used many different wsdl files to create the stub classes for different web services, but there's always the same problems.
    Help me please.

    You will find some working code at :

  • How to make WS-I compliant Web Services

    What is Oracle's recommended way to develop Web Services that fully conform to the WS-I standards using PRODUCTION RELEASES of Oracle's software (JDeveloper 10G and OracleAS 10G)?
    This is for a production site and it needs to be supported from Oracle. I assume that using "Developers Preview" versions of Oracle's software is not a solution.
    I was asked by Oracle Norway to put this question on this forum. I hope to have an answer before the end of the week.

    This is only my recommendation - not necessary Oracle's one.
    If you are using 10.1.2, your only option is to use the document-literal message format. The support for this is very limited in JDeveloper for building the server side: there is no wizard, and you will have to write it yourself as a POJA (Plain Old J2EE Application). Check my public blog after the weekend and you should find more info there.
    Your other option are: a) to look at BPEL Process Connect, which should be production very soon - They have good support for literal encoding, in general. b) to look at our current DP3 and double check your GoLive requirement - There is really a lot more available to build complex applications in the JAX-RPC stack.
    Hope this helps.
    Eric
    ps. Even so Rpc-Literal is part of WS-I, it'snot an option if you want to interop with .NET framework 1.1. Microsoft has such support in 2.0 beta with their GoLive license or in Indigo.

  • How to make use of a different data model for a line chart?

    I have a datamodel which is a sql query. I have a line chart on my template which is using some "Start Time" field as X-Axis. There is a chance that "Start Time" is null. In such cases the plotted point doesn't appear with x-coordinate. But I can't change the X_Axis field to some other not-null attribute due to business requirement.
    I am thinking to create another datamodel which filters all "Start Time"s which are nulls and use that datamodel for the line chart that has "Start Time" as X-axis. But I don't know how to do this as whenever I try to insert a line chart from BIPublisher menu in MS_Word, I am not prompted to select the datamodel.
    Can anybody tell me what I am trying is possible? If so how? If not, how do I have "Start Time" as X-axis without hassles?
    Thanks,
    -Vijay-

    Are you able to extract the data based on the new data model in an XML file? If so, in BI publisher desktop, are you able to load the XML data via Add-Ins ->Data -> Load XML Data?
    If you have been able to load the data successfully, then you need to Select Chart from the Insert Menu. When you do that, you should be able to see the Data layout on the left side of the chart dialog box. Then you should be able to drag and drop fields as necessary to create the chart. Are you having issues doing this part?
    You will not be prompted to select the data model. Hope I haven't misunderstood your question.
    Thanks!

  • How to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other soft

    Hai,
    can any one tell me how to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other software.
    i have used tomcat web server and jdk1.4.0 to develop web service.
    we have used web service to interact with MS outlook .
    bye
    sudhakar.m

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

  • How to use web service with ABAP Web Dynpro

    Hi.
         do you know, how to web service with ABAP Web Dynpro?

    Hi,
    If you have a webservice ready with you then you can generate a proxy from SE80 and you can use that. You just have to create a port and assign to that generated proxy(CLASS) and you are good to go.
    Let me know if you need more information.
    Thank You,

    By using MII, I would like to develop some logic to check some values which query from SAPME database, if the value is out of spec, it needs to send a emal to inform user ans also hold the SFC.
    Thanks!

    With Web service action block you can view all ME available services
    in I.E
    https://sapme:5000/manufacturing-services/ProductionServiceService?wsdl  you could see your FutureHold service
    To do that in MII, you need Web Service action block. Have you work with MII transaction before?

    Yes, SAPHTTPA (runs on application server) and/or SAPHTTP (runs on front-end pc), one of which, is required for HTTP communication.  So far, nothing too elaborate as far as SOAP goes, but the logic is simplistic.  Here's some sample code:
      DEST = 'SAPHTTPA'.
      TRANSLATE HOST TO LOWER CASE.
      MYURL = 'wssrvTest/Service.asmx/GetByOrderItem'.
      CONCATENATE HOST MYURL INTO MYURL.

  • How to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP)

    Hello! I'm Razvan, programmer from Romnia, and I am new to GroupWise development.
    I am asking if anyone could help me with a C# Visual Studio 2010 example of how to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP).
    The documentation from novell site didn't help me, i didn't understant much of it.
    All I need is either a link to a documented GroupWise C# developer step-by-step tutorial, or some code examples.
    Can you please show me some code examples in C# with:
    1)loging in using a username and a password,
    2)retrieving contact list,
    3)retrieving appointment list,
    4)sending a mail,
    5)setting an appointment
    I don't know how to use "groupwise.wsdl" and customise it so that it points to our GroupWise server.
    Please, I really need this because I am working at a project right now which involves GroupWise integration.
    I hope I haven't disturbed anyone with my simple question.
    I know this might be a very simple question given the complexity of the other posts here, but that's why I really hope I will get an answer soon.
    Thank you very much!

    Just a comment.
    The value for the version element should be "1.02"
    not "1.2".

  • Call a web service in ABAP - how to do LPCONFIG?

    I have searched through OSS, SAP help and SDN - and I see the answer if I call a web service from Java - but I cannot find the answer if I call a web service through normal ABAP in R/3.
    I apologize if I am asking the same question again or if it is already there and I am just overlooking it.
    I am creating a client proxy in R/3 to call an outside web service through ABAP.
    I create the client proxy in our test system using SE80.
    I create a logical port using LPCONFIG to point at the test web service on the other system.
    I code the ABAP program - and everything works great.
    I transport the client proxy - and I transport the LPCONFIG information.
    Now I get into production - when I do transaction LPCONFIG to change the URL of the web service to be their production web service URL instead of their test web service URL - it asks for the system to be opened.
    Like it wants to create a transport. The basis people would have to open the system to be modified.  Which at least in our shop is not something we do.
    Here is the error:
      Message no. TK430
      The system administrator has set your logon client to the 'not modifiable' status.
      Client-specific objects can not be changed in this client.
      Contact the system administrator.
      For more information, see the SAP Library under Change and Transport System.
    For an ABAP program in R/3 using a client proxy - how do I call a test service in our test r/3 system and a production web service in production R/3 system without changing my ABAP code?
    Should this be done through LPCONFIG?
    Or what am I missing?
    Thanks for your help.
    Scott Overmeyer

    Hi Scott,
    Please refer to following URL
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/16/285d32996b25428dc2eedf2b0eadd8/content.htm
    I think you are using the second of the following 3 approaches mentioned in above documentation and so credential configuration is not available at run-time.
    Please check if this is helpful to you. If you have already looked at this then please ignore this message.
    There are three ways of configuring the call address of the Web service:
    ●     As HTTP destination: Select an RFC destination of type G (HTTP connection to an external server) or type H (HTTP connection to the SAP System) from transaction SM59. The HTTP destination approves the configuration of the logon procedure, encryption, and state management. This is the preferred access procedure.
    ●     As URL: The URL of the Web service is written to the corresponding input field when you create the logical port. The disadvantage of this procedure is that, with the exception of the URL, no other parameters for logging on, encryption, or state management can be configured. This is possible only for Web services that do not require a logon procedure, encryption, or state management.
    ●     As local path prefix: This access procedure is only intended for accessing your own system. Here you call the default RFC destination NONE to address your own server. The specified local path prefix is used to identify the called Web service.

    Vandana.

  • How to consume WEB SERVICES from ABAP ??

    Q: How to consume WEB SERVICES from ABAP program??
         the point here is i am using SAP release 620 and the creation of proxy is out of scenario
         and also no XI.    Its only through ABAP program i need to consume one web service (its a HTTPS one ),
        Using cl_http_client... i tried it but i am totally confused of whats happening ???
    Req some senior ppl advice on the same/approach.
    any hints will suffice my way of approach...!!!
    Please do put in your valuable advices..!!
    Thanks in advance..!!!!

    Hello Srinivas,
    Following is the code for calling web service:
    data: client type ref to if_http_client,
          host   type string value 'server url',
          service type string value '8080',
          path type string value '/sap/public/ping',
          errortext type string,
          proxy_service type string,
          scheme type i value 1.
    call method cl_http_client=>create
    exporting host  = host
            service  = service
         proxy_host  = host
       proxy_service = service
       scheme        = scheme
    importing client  = client
    exceptions
        argument_not_found = 1
        internal_error     = 2
        plugin_not_active  = 3
        others             = 4.
    case sy-subrc.
      when 0.
         write 'Server reached successfully'.
      when others.
         write: 'sy-subrc =', sy-subrc.
    endcase.
    Once you got the client object you can call following methods:
    "Set the requrie URL for the web service you want to call. This is not WSDL anyway!!
    cl_http_utility=>set_request_uri( request = client->request
    uri =' url 2 be called ').
    *Then you can call send method with proper inputs for sending request to WS
    CALL METHOD client->send
    Then you can use receive method for getting the response
    CALL METHOD client->receive
    *You can get last error in case of exceptions
    CALL METHOD cl_http_client=>get_last_error
    *Close the client object
    CALL METHOD client->close
    For more information on full code refer my link in previous replay.
    Thanks,
    Augustin.

  • How to connect to database in web service??

    Hi all,
    How to connect to database in web service ? Can anyone give some advice what kind of database should i use? thanks

    No difference. Just connect as usual!
    Let me give you an example:
    Code to connect to postgresql db ...
    public Connection connectPostgresql(String servername, String dbname, String username, String password)
              Connection conn = null;
              try
                        // Load the JDBC driver
                        String driverName = "org.postgresql.Driver";
                        Class.forName(driverName);
                        // Create a connection to the database
                        String url = "jdbc:postgresql://" + servername +  "/" + dbname;
                        conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password);
                        return conn;
              catch (ClassNotFoundException e)
                        // Could not find the database driver
                        return conn;
              catch (SQLException e)
                        // Could not connect to the database
                        return conn;
    }Code for an axis web service ...
    public Element[] updateProfile(Element[] params)
              String message = "";
              // get str 1
              Node node1 = params[0].getFirstChild();
              String str1= node1.getNodeValue();
              // get str 2
              Node node2 = params[1].getFirstChild();
              String str2= node2.getNodeValue();
              Connection conn = connectPostgresql ("localhost","myDatabase","myUsername","myPassword");
              // there is a method to insert these params to db
              boolean isInserted = insertParams(conn, str1, str2);
              if(isInserted )
                        message = "OK";
              else
                        message = "Not OK";
              // constructs an array of DOM Elements for message to send back to client
              SOAPBodyElement[] response = new SOAPBodyElement[1];
              response[0] = new SOAPBodyElement(XMLUtils.StringToElement("urn:foo", "e1", message));
              return response;
    }Gokce.

  • Pros & Cons for consuming web services in ABAP using ABAP PROXY

    Hi,
    Other then performence  is there any other disadvantages like security,etc for consuming web services in ABAP using ABAP proxy?
    I really appreciate if some one provide the more details(Pros & Cons ) regarding cosuming web services and I also want to know is there any other way to consume web services in ABAP.
    Thanks.

    <i> is there any other way to consume web services in ABAP</i>
    you can use cl_http_client class to make your program to act as http client and post the soap message too webservice. This way you dont need to generate proxy, but you should know the soap message format.
