I want to know how to make visible Time Sheet link on portal for a particular Personnel Area so that employees of this PA can fill their Time Sheet from the portal.

    Are you planning to have this table do any of the calculation, or is is to be used as the electronic equivalent of a sheet of paper with a grid printed on it—a place to record the data.
    For your seven column table:
    Are you using one or more rows at the top of the table to label the data below? If so, you might want this row (or these rows) to be set as Header Rows.
    Are you using the leftmost column to label the rows? If so, you may want this column to be a Header column.
    The default table supplied on the "Blank" templates contains one header row and one header column. If you need more (or fewer) Header rows or columns, select the table, then go Table (menu) > Header Rows > (choose the number you need). Repeat to set the number of Header Columns.
    To make a seven column table from the table supplied by default, click on any cell in column H (The eighth column), and drag right to add more cells to the selection, until you get to the last column of the table. With these cells selected, Go Table > Delete Columns.
    To make the remaining seven columns fit across a single page:
    Go View > Show Print View to show the table as it would appear when printed to paper.
    Select the table by clicking its icon in the Sheets List to the left (easy method), OR by carefully clicking on the outside boundary of the table itself (fiddley method).
    With the table selected, you will see square white handles at each corner and at the middle of each side (including the top and bottom).
    With the mouse, grab the handle in the middle of the right side of the table and drag right (or left) until the table just fits onto the width of the defined page.
    With the table still selected, set the thickness and colour of the cell boundaries using the Gaphics Inspector (as described by Jerry), or using the Stroke, Thickness and Color Well controls in the Format bar above the working portion of the Window.

    See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
    1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
    2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
    /images/image.jpg  to document-relative?
    That is, to
    ../images/image.jpg or
    ../../images/image.jpg or
    ../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
    The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
    I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
    /public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
    I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
    The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link?  I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
    It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.

    Thanks for jumping on this.
    All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
    No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
    "/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
    Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
    The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url,  which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
    it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
    Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!

    PS--don't  have a local testing server...don't think this will solve the GUI broken link/ link shows as external problems.

    Hello. I am developing the accounting application of journal entry. In journal line, I use the image "magnifying glass" next to each chart field. When we click on the magnifying glass, it's supposed to come up a look up table( a chart and name mapping table), and we select the proper chart to input into the chart field.
    I understand to create another record and page for the look up table. But I don't understand how to make a magnifying glass link to a look up table. Can anybody tell me how to do that ? Thanks.

    This is how it works,
    Table A (which stores chart fields). You have used fields from table A on a page so that users can input data.
    You don't need to put a magnifying glass image or create a new page to achieve look up page.
    all you need to do is create another table say Table B which should have the chart field and corresponding description you want to show on lookup page. Then open record-field property of the chart field on Table A and mention Table B as prompt table.

    In iRecruitment module,i have created a new responsibility with the name "irecruitment - interview" the menu attached with the responsibility is "Irc Employee Menu" and the functions and menu excluded are "Irc Employee Applicant Home Page","Irc Employee Home Page","IRC Employee Candidate Application Menu","Irc Employee Referral Application","Irc Interviewer Application".

    In order to achieve this i have gone to personalisation and under the "Applicant Name" i set the "Popup Enabled" to "false" at the responsibility level.But it is not working out.

    hi!... I've a Text3D using Oriented3D object and I would like to know how to make it visible and invisible by clicking a button.
    I know there is a function, setVisible() in RenderingAttributes, which can be set by the object's Appearance.
    Since I want to use a button to change the object's appearance, I need to change it in the button's actionPerformed function, but it has thrown an exception:
    "Shape3D: no capability to set appearance".
    I'd tried using those setCapability flags... but still nothing...

    When you create Shape3D, setAppearance to it and
    setCapability(ALLOW_APPEARANCE_READ).
    For the Appearance, you should setCapability(
    ALLOW_RENDERING_ATTRIBUTES_READ).
    For the RenderingAttributes, you should setCapability(
    ALLOW_VISIBLE_WRITE).
    So in the button event handler,
    shape.getAppearance().getRenderingAttributes().setVisible(true/false).
    Now you can control the visiblity of Text3D

    ---In Time sheet page create one stacklayoutRN via personalization.
    ---Then come to jdev right clik on jpr create new region in that region create lovitem.
    ---In lov.server create lov region,lovvo,lovam all the componenets in custom package.
    ---set properties for Lov rn and lov item.
    ---Move these components to server and run import command for lovregion.
    ---Extend stacklayoutRN with custom region.
    set propery Extend: custom region eg:xxx.oracle.apps.po.msg.webui.customRN
    ---Apply
    u can achive this by co extension also.

       You assign these  enhanced  attributes to design layer. so you can see these fields in Config tab.
    How to do:
    IMG->Customer Relationship Management -> UI Framework -> UI Framework definition -> Maintain
    design layer
    Here include the enhanced attributes and then go to component work bench and in context attributes right click assign the desing layer, selct your attribute and  in the bottom click on SAVE button.
    Then check it in configuration tab your attributes will available in show available fields.

    Excuse me, but I couldn't ascertain, from your post, what Oracle database version you are using nor what JDBC driver you are using, so I am assuming it is 10g for both.
    Here is an excerpt from JDBC Developer's Guide and Reference 10g Release 1, chapter 17 -- "ResultSet Enhancements", the section entitled "Seeing Internal Changes":
    Internal INSERT operations are never visible, regardless of the result set type
    (neither forward-only, scroll-sensitive, nor scroll-insensitive).

    2. unplug the cable and plug it again,
    it takes about 30 seconds to start pinging again.
    i disabled the STP protocol and observed that; with the same procedure, recovering ping replies decreased to 3 seconds.
    is there any other tuning that i can configure and make response time even faster?

    Hi,
    STP convergence is typically the biggest part of host connection delays. Rather than disabling STP, you can configure "spanning-tree portfast" on the port which will achieve the same end.
    Beyond that, some of the response time delays are going to be part of MAC address learning, ARP, and the fact that the switch places a low priority on processing ICMP packets. A better test is to ping from another device _through_ the switch rather than to or from the switch.
