How to manage a SOA Dehydration Store (SOAINFRA)?

Good Day!
How its possible to know - how big is an oracle SOAINFRA, a dehydration store schema now?
And is there any tools for it managing?

Yes - there are purge scripts that you can use to delete instances

(Failed connecting to SOA repository. The possible reason can be the dehydration store database target is not monitored using Enterprise Manager or the credentials required for monitoring are not set. Check the required details and try again)
Let me know is there configurations i need to do manually if required ? where i can do please tell me.

You should open an SR and support can assist you with it. The only current case where that feature is known to not work is in the case where the Dehydration Store is running on RAC. Otherwise, it should be possible to get it to work. The main thing is that you need to have DB configuration properties (host, port, sid) that have a 3-way string match between the JDBC data source configuration in the WLS server, the JDBC properties you add to the Monitoring Properties of the SOA Infrastructure target, and the connect settings of the Database target in EM that matches to the dehydration DB.
If there isn't a match in all 3, the Dehydration Diagnostics page will not work. But again, to look into your specific setup, you should file an SR and work with support.

  • How to logging off the assign activity to dehydration store

As per my understanding , every bpel process, logs data from assign activity in dehydration store. I changed the setting auditLevel to production to for logging off the assign activity.
But it didnt work I guess. Even I tried to query audit_details & audit_trail tables by instance id.
But didnt get the record that I got. Can we get variables stored ?
Please help me in logging off assign activity to dehydration store which is default behaviour. And also how to cross check it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Look here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28942/tuning_bpel.htm#CIHEFIFH
    Use the
    "completionPersistPolicy BPEL Property"
    "inMemoryOptimization BPEL Property"
    In your BPEL process.

  • Oracle BPEL SOA - CUBE_SCOPE/DOCUMENT dehydration store contents

I have some queries concerning what bpel variables and values will be stored to Dehydration store in case oracle bpel. Consider I have an process "P1" with two scopes: an outer scope "s1" with variables "s1a,s1b,s1c" and within this s1 scope there is a nested inner scope "s2" with variables "s2a,s2b,s2c". When the process instance ends or if there is a wait activity at the end of outer scope s1, then the process state will be moved to dehydration store.
My question here is would oracle soa server store all the variables of both scopes s1 and s2 to dehydration store or since s2 scope is like a local loop within s1, would oracle only persist variables and values of processes of the outer scope s1 alone?
The reason why i ask is that the inner scope S2 in my process case handles a very huge xml of size more than 20 MB and i do not want this to be dehydrated to datastore at the end of process execution as this will fill up the soa table space quickly.

Create a full user export of the ORABPEL/ORAESB/ORAWSM users and load them into your new database.
Change the datasource in the SOA Application Server to your new database.

  • SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 GA dehydration store

Since I haven't received a response on the oc4j-ra.xml configuration question, I decided to reinstall and specify an existing database to use as the dehydration store, effectively forcing myself off of my 10.1.2.0.2 installation. There is a catch 22 here though (surprise!). Installation insists on versions 10.2.0.2 or better, or 10.1.0.5 or better. Well, where are these databases available on a Windows platform? I don't see them in the db download area. I have confirmed that 10.2.0.2 doesn't work as well as 10.2.0.1.
Overall, I'm not having much success with 10.1.3.1 with dehydration, workflow/worklist and notification problems.

I don't know when this started or if it has always been this way. My worklist based notifications are being transmitted with the appropriate sender and title but the content remains encapsulated in html and comes in two separate pieces, Message and Content. The message looks like:
    <br><br>
<html> <body> Task john junk requires your attention. Please access the task from the worklist application.<p><TABLE border="0"><TR><TD>Action Links: </TD><TD>Worklist Application</TD></TR></TABLE></body></html>
    <br><br>
The email is not set to actionable as the content of this html structure would lead you to believe. Also the html tags are actually confusing the browser display as well. In the actual email text it is completely cancatenated together.
Normal notifications work as expected with only the text being sent through the SMTP server and displayed by the mail client.

  • High CPU on BPEL Manager until Dehydration store purged

We are seeing that if we get run-time exceptions while running BPEL processes we will have high CPU on the system until we shut down the BPEL instance, purge the dehydration store, and restart the instance. If we shut the instance down and restart the instance without the purge we are getting seriously high CPU usage, the only cure being the purge. Any help or thoughts appreciated.
    Art

When the SYSTEM process uses high cpu, it typically means there is an IO issue. Open up process explorer from sysinternals to see what thread on the SYSTEM process is using the CPU.  Typically this is caused by slow disk or antivirus getting in the
way. You could temporarily disable the antivirus real scan to see if the issue clears up. If the issue clears up you should verify if the recommended antivirus exclusions are in place.

  • Multiple use of Dehydration Store Instance?

This may seem like a stupid question, but we just brought up our second App Server instance pointing to the same Dehydration store instance. It appears to be working, but we have only installed one process for the second BPEL instance. Can two instances of the BPEL manager on separate App server instances use the same dehydration store instance?

you may be able to do this with BPEL but you cannot do this with ESB as it will have conflicting issue with the JMS queues, you can't even use different schemas within the same dehydration database with the ESB dehydration store. This is because it uses global queues.
Obviously in a cluster the dehydration store must be shared between app servers. This post is only refering to 2 separate installs of SOA Suite using the same dehydration store.
    cheers

I have raised an SR. I have provided them with error code, screen shots and log files.
They are suggesting me to do a fresh install of SOA. But I feel that is not the correct solution.
Now I can do that as i have only two processes running on the server.
Imagine If I have lof of processes running on the server. moreover I can't do it every time when i face this kind of errors on the PROD server.
    Anyway thanks for your suggestion.
How long you have been working with oracle SOA suite?

If it just for a particular message then another simple solution is to open the message and go to details in pimon.

  • Dehydration Store Specification for 10.1.3 Server

Where can I look in the installed server for the database URL assignment for the Dehydration store?

Are you asking for the data store configuration for the data store?
If so you can view this in enterprise manager
    EM -> oc4j container (home or oc4j_soa) -> administration -> JDBC References
Look at the links for BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL
Please note if you change the connection details and test it will fail until you bounce SOA Suite, the testing window does not recognise the change until this is done.
SOA Suite does not use tnsnames.
If I'm barking up the wrong tree please clarify your issue.

  • How to manage my daughter's new phone account

We just got my 11 year old daughter her first phone (a Samsung S3 Mini). The salesman told us we would be able to use the "Family Base" to control/ turn-on-off her phone, text, web access and email and we would have full control there. Our main goal (as we explained) was to let her have the phone, texting, and gmail, but to turn off her web access (unless she was being supervised - at home). He told us we would definitely be able to keep GMail on, and separately control her web access.  Now that I am looking through the Family Base control center, I'm not really seeing all that.  I see you can manage phone and texting (which we've decided to let her have on), but I don't see management of web access, and I don't see exactly how to manage that separately from her ability to email.
My second issue is... I would like to activate a "Find my Mobile" or "Find My Phone" type service (because I'm worried about her leaving her phone somewhere) but I'm wondering if this service requires that her phone have web access (and maybe location services on?) so that it can function.
Surely there are other adults out there trying to manage their kids the same way I am. Can someone please give me some tips/ best practices or suggestions on how to manage all this?
In addition to my concerns about managing her web usage (while maintaining email), what's the best "find my phone" that I should implement?
    Thank you in advance.

A few things you can do here.
    1) The Verizon Rep Lied to you
    2) You can download Parental Control Apps from the Play Store that are password protected and work much better then Family Base. Look at those and dump Family Base
    3) Download Where's my Droid. It will do all of the find my phone options and much more. check it out
    4) You might also want to download something like Phone Tracker which will allow you to track the phone and its whereabouts near real-time so you can see where she is at all times. (Check local laws in your area first though to make sure you are legal doing this)

  • How can I get my App Store sign in to match my newly updated Apple ID?

How can I get my App Store sign in to match my newly updated Apple ID?
The old ID is already grayed in the box for my ID and it does not allow me to type in my new ID.

I appreciate your effort and realize I did not provide a lot of background.
My issue began when I unintentionally managed to add an additional .com onto my new apple ID and the system then incorrectly verified this "none existent" address. Following days of effort and emails to Apple support I finally ended up  getting set up with my new ID on iTunes.
The next problem was my App store login continued to have the "old" ID grayed into the signin and since I had changed it to a new ID, I could not login at the App Store.
I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a total of 3 Apple reps without a resolution to me problem.
The last Apple rep, Chad wanted to be able to take a screen shot of what I was telling him, which made no sense to me but I was willing to do what ever was required to solve the problem. Unfortunately, Chad hung up or somehow disconnected before I received the email required for allowing a screenshot. After calling back and adding another 5+ minutes invested, I decided to attempt to change back to my old ID.
Once I had changed my ID back to the old one, I could download updates and purchases.
I realize my question was asking a lot but my hope was someone would have some idea as to how to correct the problem Apple Support could not. It seems to me Apple needs to make a correction on their end but it is now into week two of attempting to solve the problem and I am pretty much disenchanted with Apple Support due to the amount of time and effort already invested and lack of progress.
Thanks for your suggestion. I think it was a good one considering the lack of other information.
