how to manage buy extra 5gb icloud storage in my iphone

Before buying more icloud storage, be sure that, if you are having some problem like trying to back up to icloud, the lack of storage is not on your device.  If your device is short of storage, buying more icloud storage will not help.
Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device.  Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.

  • How can I REALLY downgrade my iCloud storage?  HELP!

How can I REALLY downgrade my iCloud storage?  Apple is trying to scam ppl out of $$. They will NOT allow you to downgrade per their instructions.  It ALWAYS says the iCloud manager is not available, try later.  Here is what my email says:
This is a reminder that on 03/03/2015 you will be charged $10.99 for your 20 GB storage plan using your Visa •••• (deleted). If you do not wish to be charged, you can cancel by downgrading to the free storage plan from your iOS device, Mac or PC.

I'm so disappointed that all my products are currently Apple and now I down't trust them as far as I can throw them.  There is already a class action suit in Florida for the icon taking up 23% of users' available space, now they are trying to charge me $$ yearly when I do NOT need the space?  Shame, Apple.. Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave about your unethical business practices... This does NOT work:
You can also cancel or downgrade your storage plan at any time. For a full refund, contact iCloud Supportwithin 15 days of an upgrade or within 45 days after a yearly payment. Partial refunds are available where required by law. Learn more about iCloud storage plans or get help using Cloud storage.
No... the "done" button will not light up, and it says the iCloud manager is "not available at this time.  Try again later."  This is a known problem... fix it.

Thank you Roger!  Going into my iTunes at least allowed me to delete my credit card info so they can't charge it.  In the meantime, after 2 calls I finally got connected to a Senior Advisor from Apple who was able to manually go into my account and remove the automatic charge to my credit card.  After sharing my screen, she was able to see the issue many others are having being unable to downgrade.  There is a bug in the system that tells you the manage storage is "unavailable at this time".  She followed me through several of these threads and realized it is actually an issue.  She took all the relevant information and will submit a bug fix request.  She even admitted that goal and apple were having an issue syncing to the correct time zone at that there was no know fix at this time.  While frustrating, the honesty was refreshing.
Thank you SO much for you quick response on this!  My apologies for my tone; this was my first time using this forum.  I went through Apple support and didn't realize that there are no Apple employees on here.  I was on the line with someone from customer service that wasn't as helpful at the time and was very frustrated..
Thanks again for your help!  To all others having this problem, keep calling Apple tech support until you get a Senior Advisor - they will help!!  The advisor even told me to tell people to call in and that they need to manually downgrade on their end until they get this issue resolved.

  • How can I "clean out" my iCloud storage on my iPad?

Lately I have been getting messages saying that I con't have enough space in my iCloud storage to backup my iPad and lately my iPad has been acting up and going really slow, freezing, and closing out apps. How do I "clean out" my iCloud storage so that I will have enough room? I saw an option to delete the backup, but I don't want to do that because that deletes everything...right? And I need a lot of those apps backed up. What should I do?

how can I add my previous icloud storage from my old iTunes ID to my new icloud  account,

"So, is it possible to sync/merge/move/share those purchased apps from the old apple-ID to a new apple-ID?"
    No.
    Sorry.
Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased, and will always have to be updated using that account.

How I can delete my entire icloud storage? I can't delete the mail storage. I have tried but it didn't work. There isn't any mail on my icloud mail account but it seems that I use 11 mb as mail storage. I can't delete the mail part.

I want to update iCloud account with new apple id but don't know password for old apple id.  Plus can no longer receive email at old apple id.  How can I delete the current iCloud account on my iPhone if the previously stated conditions exist?

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How do I change the main iCloud account on my iPhone?

How do I change the main iCloud account on my iPhone?

I activated an iPad for a work associate; somehow, MY Apple ID account is assigned to his iPad's iCloud backup.  His iPad is using up all MY iCloud space... he IS set up in App Store with his own Apple ID.
On my own iPad (just to check out what settings/options were), i went to "Settings/iCloud: and tapped "Delete Acct".  BUT, then I got a message that all Photo Stream and documents stored in iCloud would be deleted from this iPad...   so, two questions...
is there ANY way for him to retrieve the documents he saved in MY iCloud account (there's 9.1g worth of HIS backup in my account!! ... i purchased extra space before i realized it was being eaten up by him and not mine).
Because he'd be logging  back in under his OWN ID which had never backed up his device before......so, he'll  lose everything, right?
Really need someone who KNOWS apple iOS/Cloud workings to answer this one please ... much (at least some, lol) of his data is work-related.... at 9gig, can't be all work!! must be a lot of movies, photo's and music i'd guess.  as this is a WORK-issued device, so be it if he has to re-load all that................

  • Re: How do I go from using 0.2gb to the full 5gb iCloud space on an iPhone 4?

My 16gb iPhone 4 (running iOS 5.01) is full to the brim with music, apps etc. and yet my iCloud account is only using 0.2mb out of the 5GB free space Apple give - something ain't right!
How do I balance this out so I can install another App or album on my phone without shelling out? And yet I hear of some users running out of space. They seem to be iPad users rather than iPhone. To clarify has that 5gb free gotta be shared across however many iOS devices you buy?
By the way, I've already been into Settings--iCloud--Storage&Backup--Manage Storage--(My Name)'s iPhone and everything is ON.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't use the iCloud storage space to extend the space available on your phone. iCloud storage is for synced items and back ups not for adding more content onto your phone.

  • How do I use my 5GB of storage?

    Hi All...
I'd like to use my free 5GB of storage for docs and photos, etc...  But I have no idea of how to get them there.
These files consist of many types ranging from jpgs, to non-apple files/Docs (NOT iWork Stuff), etc...
How do I transfer them from my Mac to iCloud?
Also, I heard the photostream only lasts for 30 days then it deletes them and you need to re-add them?  Is this true?  Is there a way around this?

Your iCloud account provides you storage for syncing data and documents and not for general storage, if general storage is what you are looking for you should try some third party solutions such as Dropbox or sugarsync amongst others.
Again Photostream is for syncing recent photos between your devices, not for general storage or sharing with others. the new iPhoto app offers a solution for sharing photos, but for general storage try the services I previously mentioned.

  • How do i add apps to icloud storage

i just have some apps that only use wifi anyway so i cant even use them on the road so i can only use them at home so how do i put them in icloud storage

    crackadoo00 wrote:
when i go to settings then general then usage on my ipod touch it says in the top left it says 3.8gb available and the top right it says 2.6gb used
That is the storage on your iPod. It appears you have an 8 GB iPod which has about 6.4 GB available to the user.
then on the bottom it syas icloud storage and it says total storage 5.0 gb then available 4.7 gb below it and when i go to manage storage all it says is my name then below it it syas this ipod and it takes up 289.2 mb beside it and i have apps that are more then that so i know my apps arent stored in this.
As I said in my second reply, iTunes purchases like app do not count against your free 5 GB since Apple does not have to store a copy of the app just for you.

  • HT4847 How to get a refund on icloud storage purchase?

Hi there - last night I purchased an upgrade on my icloud storage. I have since decided I don't this and would like to cancel. I believe I have 15 days to do this but don't know how. Does anyone know? thanks : )

You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple seem to have made this as difficult as possible. You may be able to do this using http://expresslane.apple.com - Click on 'More products and services', then 'iCloud', 'Account and setup' then 'This topic is not listed'. Explain the situation in the box provided and wait for a response - include a phone number. However you may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare.
In that event you will need to phone them directly, using the Apple Online Store number given at the bottom of this page. The first person you speak to may tell you to do it from the iCloud website but this is not possible. Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.
Just for information, if it is more than 15 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date. Please see
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmd602084a
and expand 'Downgrade your storage for the next plan year'.
