How to manage/copy/track db in Oracle

Hi,
I'm working on dev ORacle db so we have couple of changes every day and then we go to change control location to log most recent source for each object: sp, package, ddl, etc..
Is there any good auto tool to make snapshot for the whole db and have all definition for ALL dbo in one handy place, we basically new to ORacle and our mangmt approach is very carefull but probably not that effective. I smell that Oracle should have some fancy tools for that.
Will appreciate for any opinions or pointers to the right place.

I believe a solution that would be appropriate in your case is the OEM Change Management Pack

You will need to license OEM and the CM Pack separately

How can I copy tracks from one computer to another using network sharing?

NOT using Migration Assistant. All of the tracks are in one of two formats: MP3 and AAC.

Here's my standard instructions for doing this via Home Sharing.
First, make sure you've got the home share set up on both computers, as per the following document. If material on the original PC was bought from the iTunes Store, I'd use the AppleID you used for the purchases to set up the Home Share on both PCs.

Have both computers running and have iTunes open on both computers.
Now, in the iTunes on the computer you want to transfer music to, select the library that you want to transfer music from, as per the following screenshot:
Once the other library loads, go down to the bottom of the screen and in "Show:" select "Items not in my library":
If you want to import all of the songs you can now see, head up to the iTunes menu bar and go "Edit > Select all". Then head down to the bottom of the screen again and click the "Import" button in the bottom-right-hand corner.
If there's a lot of stuff in your original PC's library, the transfer may take some time.

I tried your suggestions and it seems that i have to save
- mask shape and
- Stroke effect settings incl. key frames
as separate things, if i want them in the effects panel.
When i set the Stroke effect to my preferred look (with custom colours, width, key frames for Start and Opacity) and save this as an effect, i cannot re-apply this to another mask with any of my custom settings still there. When i re-apply the saved custom Stroke effect, all settings like keyframes, custom colours and width are lost and it arrives with default settings and without any keyframes.
Maybe i do something very wrong here?
I wondered if i should save the mask with Stroke effect as an AE file and re-import it. But this mask can only be saved together with some footage and i don't see how to bring mask including Stroke effect into an existing composition and which of the File/Import ways to use.

How to Manage Oraarch folder in Oracle

my client has
my sap erp 2004 running on HP-UX and oracle 9i
SAP is already live.
they take regular backups on Hp 8 tape autoloaders.
now while taking backups in the saparch the files get deleted regulary as the frequency has been set in initsp1.sap file.
but in oraarch the files gets accumulated.
i need to know what excatly get saved in oraarch folder and how to manage it's size....

I tried Notpod but can't get it to work. Part of the problem, I suspect, is that I can't create a folder on my player (a SanDisk Clip+). I also can't do this in Windows Explorer. Whilst I can see the Clip+ in Explorer, the option to create a new folder isn't there.
The error mesag I get in Notpod is:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately.
InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelctedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex"
Then, when I plug the Clip+ into a USB port, iTunes thinks it is my iPad - which is because, I guess, Notpod hasn't worked.
I can drag and drop files from the Music folder where my iTunes tracks are stored onto the Clip+ and they get converted but I'd rather synchronise a Playlist from iTunes if I can.

How do you copy automation from one track to another? Occassionally I mistakenly blow away a track's automation. I open up an earlier version of the song to try to get the automation. It doesn't seem that you can copy and paste the data. After some struggle, I find a way. Is there an easy way?

1. Copy the track containing the desired automation to another track. (create a track below it to keep things organized)
2. Double click on the region and delete the notes.
3. Now copy the region to the desired track.
P.S. Of course when Logic asks if you want to copy the automation data you say yes)

Copy/paste - how to assign a track? how to chose insert vs. overwrite?

i don't know how to choose the tracks on which i to paste a clip on the timeline. i seem to have no control on which track gets the clip... it is usually the first track but not always, and i don't know how to make it paste the clip on a different track.
on FCP 1 and 2 it was easy to mark the track you want to work on but i can't figure it out on the later versions. what i usually do to avoid this is drag and drop the clip/s, but... occasionally when i do that it chooses to insert rather than overwrite - again, i don't know how to control that either... i'm sure this is simple stuff, but i don't know the right wording to find an answer in the help menu... can someone please help me out?...

look carefully at your video tracks in the timeline
you see there is a thin horizontal line that divides each track
when you are drag and drop editing:
if you drop the clip above the divide then you get an insert edit
if you drop the clip below the divide then you get an overwrite edit
(notice that the cursor changes depending on where in the track you are holding the track ... above the divide its an arrow that points to the right, denoting an insert edit ie pusing all other clips down the timeline; below the divide and it points downward, denoting an overwrite edit)
by the way, if you are copy and pasting then a normal paste operation (Cmd-V) will do an overwrite edit, but you can press Shift-V to do a "Paste Insert"

The technique used to be to send messages from your procedure to a waiting shellscript listener using DBMS_PIPE. You would write a script (could be ksh, Perl, Ruby etc) on the server with a loop in which it connects to the database and waits for DBMS_PIPE messages. When it gets one, it executes the command that was contained in the message and loops around to continue waiting again.
7.3 is really ancient though. If you're running it at all this far out of support it should really just be ticking over and not subject to new development.

To get the script for all directories created in database
SELECT DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('DIRECTORY',DIRECTORY_NAME) FROM DBA_DIRECTORIES;
and to get the script for the Privileges on the above listed directories
select 'GRANT ' || PRIVILEGE || ' ON ' || TABLE_NAME || ' TO ' || GRANTEE || ';'
FROM DBA_TAB_PRIVS
WHERE TABLE_NAME IN (SELECT DIRECTORY_NAME FROM DBA_DIRECTORIES);
Then these scripts can be run wherever required
