Move/Copy those off the phone before syncing.  Pics taken with the phone should be routinely moved/copied to your computer to avoid loss.

How to delete multiple songs from iPhone 5S without losing form iTunes? The unchek function has not worked. Why?

Sorry I had to reply through your profile Gail from Maine, my PC has java issues. In any event, when I delete them directly from my device everything is perfect and cool. However, in the rare instance I want to add new music that I actually buy in stores (I know, quite the unique and old-fashioned idea...but hey Im an audiophile) once I upload the tunes, everytime I sync my library it re-adds everything that I spent hours deleting. In a perfect world, I thought I could maintain a massive iTunes Library, and add or delete (remove) songs from my iPhone to save both memory or keep my iPhone selections more current/apt to my musical "tastes" at that time. I know about the whole playlist thing, but thought there might be an easier way. ie - checking/un-checking the little box next to the song name, and then doing a sync. Again, everytime I do this however, whether everything is checked or un-checked it adds the entire library! So frustrating. Any suggestions. Thank you graiously in advance for your help.

No worries. Apple will continue to support your phone. By "discontinued", they just mean that they are not selling new ones anymore. You will still be able to get IOS7, you will still be able to get support and service, you will still be able to buy apps and music, use FaceTime, Mail, Messages.....
Nothing has changed except that you can't buy a new one....
Cheer up - all is well!

I did this with about 100 songs, and the problem is everytime I connect my iphone with itunes, It will automatically sync back every single song I did delete on the phone by swiping.

  • How to manage multiple ipads and iphones on the same computer

Any advice on how to manage multiple iphones (iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 & iPhone 3G) along with an iPad & iPad 2 on the same computer?
    Thank you

The article that AnaMusic references assumes that you sync automatically I believe. Turn off auto sync and select whatever you want to put on each device. As Philly said, it really is a snap. I have never synced automatically and I never selected iTunes to start up when my iDevices are connected. I want the control over all of that.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically. Check that box and then quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, click on your iPads name on left sidebar under the devices heading and then click on the summary tab in the iTunes window on the right. Select - Sync only checked songs and videos. If you really want to "live dangerously" - uncheck Open iTunes when this iPad is connected. Now you can control what you sync and when iTunes starts up. iTunes will not start up when you connect the iPad and it will not sync anything on its own.
Go into each tab in iTunes, Info, Music, Apps, .... All of them - check what you want to sync in each section. After you have made all of your selections (and you have checked all of the headings - Sync Music, Sync Apps and so on) click on Apply in the lower right corner on iTunes and the sync will take place.
Do this with each iDevice and iTunes will remember what you selected for each device the last time that you synced. You can make changes to this configuration any time that you want for each device and if you do just remember to click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes in order to apply the changes.

  • How to delete streamed songs in iPhone?

I listen to songs via streaming from iCloud.
When flying I want to listen to records I choose to have with me.
When i turn of "show all music" in Music preferences to find my manually loaded records, following happens:
There are so many songs left from streaming, that I can't find my records without searching.
    - To delete a record I loaded manually is easy.
    - But how to delete the songs loaded by streaming?
I have tried to "delete all music" in preferences for iCloud storage - it deletes manually loaded records but not the steaming loaded songs.
Anybody know how to solve this issue?
    Thanks from Denmark.

  • How to set a song for iphone as a ringtone

how can i set an mp3 song for iphone 4s or iphone 5 as a ringtone?

Ringtone can be max. 35 seconds long.
    DIY using computer iTunes:
    1. Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library
    2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)
    3. In the dialog choose Options tab
    4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work)
    5. Close dialog.
    6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version
Note: If you don't have Create AAC version, switch in menu File > Preferences...(Windows do Edit > Preferences...) > General > Import Settings... > Import Using: AAC Encoder.
    7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.
    8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes. <-- This step is important
    9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r
    10. Drag and drop it into iTunes
    Now you have a ringtone.
Make sure it is selected in iTunes > Tones for syncing with your new iPhone.

  • How to delete a song from iphone using "itunes 12"

iTunes 12 & iPhone 5s v8.1, iTunes installed on PC with Windows 7
I need to delete some songs from my iPhone. They are not on any playlist. I see no way to delete them using either iTunes or the iPhone.
How do I delete songs from my iPhone using the iPhone OR iTunes?

I also have this question as well. I've done everything from turning off the "show all music" to turning off icloud. After hours of frustration, I decided to delete all music and just re-download the songs i actually want on my phone. Apple makes everything so much more difficult than it has to be. Next time, I'll try the "throw phone at wall" method.

  • How to manage answer tones with iPhone.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else, so if I am duplicating someone else's post I apologize ahead of time. But, if anyone was wondering how to manage answer tones with their new phone since it doesn't have access to Media Mall, the best way I have found is by going to cingularanswertones.com.

Sync it as described in the User's Guide.

  • How to delete a song in iphone

How do I delete a song from my iphone and itunes, I just delete one, in itunes but it keep appearing , in my iphone and itunes,,,,

I thought if you delete in itunes, and you have them set to sync, it should remove the iphone version as well. Not sure if it's the same if you manually manage music.  I think then you have to plug your phone into itunes, then click the phone tab and delete the song as well.

  • How to add one song to iphone from an album burn onto itunes from a cd

I have been trying for some time now to add an album from my Itunes onto my iphone. the album is not bought from itunes store but burn from a disk I own.
I have tried to add it by making a new playlist and syncing it, and I have tried to add it 'manually' after clicking on 'manually manage music etc'.
both times instead of just adding the music I have selected, it begins to 'back up' my iphone and sync on songs I have deleted ages ago!!! and APPS I have deleted ages ago! its very frustrating. Its as if it completely ignores my request and does whatever it wants.... I have followed the instructions on the apple help website but it does not work. can anyone help?? am I missing something?

The music sync is ONE WAY - computer to iphone.  The ONLY exception is itunes purchases.
You would have to use a third party program, not supported by Apple, if you wanted to do this.
