How to manage SAP Masters Data in Multi Lauguages

Dear All;
We are using ECC5 unicode version.
So far we only use in Japan, but we are trying to use this system in Thailand too.
And some of the customer and vendor master record will be used in JPN and THI.
I would like to know how to save the 2 languages' texts in same customer/vendor record like company name or address.
Could you please teach me ?

Please read the below statements pertaining to Unicode.
What is Unicode?
Unicode is an international standard that assigns characters from virtually every language and script a unique Unicode Scalar Value, which is a number written in hexadecimal notation.
What are the advantages of Unicode?
Unicode provides the solution to the problem of multiple, possibly incompatible code pages:
1.Unicode currently defines over 98,000 characters, with room for over 1 million characters.
2.Unicode defines each character only once
3.In a Unicode SAP system you can display and maintain character data from any language with any logon language. For example, you can logon to your system in Japanese and maintain Russian data.
Unicode attempts to support all of the scripts used in the world. Where more than one language shares a set of symbols that have a historically related derivation, the union of the set of symbols of each such language is unified into a single collection identified as a single script.
All Unicode characters are not 2 bytes long.
The Unicode Encoding determines the length of a character. A character in one of the Unicode Encoding can be bigger than 1 byte, and therefore Unicode characters can be longer than characters defined in other standard code pages.
The Unicode encoding standards that can be used are UTF-8, UTF-16 or UTF-32.

When you need to transfer data from SAP BI system to other Target systems,lets say Oracle BI.
SAP BI would become the source system and Oracle Bi sould be the target system. In this case I would suggest you to use Open hub provided by SAP BI.You have the option of specifying the Open Hub destination as
1. Database table.
2. Falt file
3. Third party tool.
The onus of extarcting the data from SAP BI ssytem into ORACLE BI system sould vest with the Target system. Open Hub can provide a suitable destination , once this is done it is upto to the target system to extract data by connecting to this destination....

Does anybody tell me how to pull SAP-CRM data into BW.
Is there any configuaration setings takes place in CRM system or BW system?
Provide few of CRM datasources names (Transaction data Datasources)
Please explain indetail and give some examples.

SAP CRM uses BW Adapter to extract data from SAP CRM and send it to SAP Business Information Warehouse and SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence. For mBDocs, BW Adapter extracts objects for CRM business transactions and CRM billing use the BAdI CRM_BWA_MFLOW. However, in releases prior to SAP CRM 2005, after using transaction code RSA5 to activate business content in SAP CRM, you must use transaction code BWA5 to activate the business content for the BW Adapter.

SAP-HR data to multi-file mapping.

Hi,
I have to generate SAP-HR data into 5 text files. There are some separate fields that would be required in these files.
So, what could be the mapping scenario that i can choose. I think it's feasible with IDoc & proxy both. What scenario i can choose considering that data is in bulk. Is there any other good possibility?

Selecting the Adapter.........this is depending on data which ur sending.
option IDOC u can select if u have standard IDOC and the datsa is more then 25 feilds i suggest its an best one.
if u have less feilds like 20 or 25 then go for PROXY dont go for IDOC becasue performance issue will be there.
Configure a RFC Adapter and call the BAPI / RFC. However the potential problem that I could see is that the RFC adapter existing on the Java stack communciating with the BAPI existing on the SAP application system

How to manage the "no data" loading in process chain

Hi,
I want to load some master data in delta mode with a process chain. The treatment works good except in one case.
If I have no data selected during the extraction ( cause the system doesn't find any data matching with the delta field ), the process chain appears in red as if some problems was encountered instead of giving a traffic light green.
How is it possible to manage this case of treatment as a normal treatment ?

if no data is available in the system, the request
select Green (is Judged to be successful). this will cause the load to be successful if Zero records are fetched and the Process chain will not fail.

SAP MDM is master data management server. as in our SAP R/3 Customer Master, Vendor Master, Material Master, Etc. These Master Data we are maintained in conventional way means individual SAP R/3 and non-SAP itself.
However, these Master Data can store in single point source of truth and then distribute to all after consolidating the master record data. First, we will get the all Master Data (ex. Customer, Material, Etc) from Different sources (ex. SAP or non-SAP or DB) using the scenario
SAPR/3---> XI--> MDM (Outbound to SAP R/3 or Inbound to MDM)
Second,
Then we will do the all the necessary things in MDM.
Third, we will syndicate/ distribute the consolidated Master Data to all the Systems using this scenario
MDM-> XI-> SAPR/3 (Outbound to MDM or Inbound to SAP R/3)
what is acheived out here is data uniqueness acorss the system. this is one real world scenario

How to manage XFDF form data stored in sharepoint

I have developed a rating form tool in acrobat to get the readers feedback. I am saving the feedback data in a sharepoint when the user click the SUBMIT button. It is working very well and the feedback data is getting stored in the Sharepoint.
Now, its time to generate a report based on the feedback I am receiving in the Sharepoint. I need to collect the data from the sharepoint and generate a report for the management.
Is there anyway to pull the data from the Sharepoint directly from Acrobat? and when the pdf file is getting distributed there are lot of additional characters being added after the pdf file name (4AA0-1068EEW_7c9ab3f540b39941be0626d074eec68a.xfdf). It results, when I try to copy the .xfdf files from sharepoint to my local folder, Windows says "The file name is too long and cannot be copied" and hence I miss some of the data stored in the sharepoint.
Someone, please help me to collect and manage the data and generate a report.

Create a servlet which gets an InputStream of the file and writes it to the OutputStream of the response and call this servlet in `src` attribute. That's basically all.

How to manage the regulatory data import into specification database?

Hi experts,
We have a EH&S implementation project for a distribution company which has no other sap module and very limited scope.
They want to get the 3E data, compare and update and send/updates with vendors and customers and also inteface the data with AS 400.
They are not willing to use the Ariel ADM tool and any other additional licensing, due to limited scope.The 3E is sending the file in xml format. So the EH&S OCC connector could be used. but this again needs the use of ehs expert, which needs additional licensing and scope increase.
Does anybody worked on intergrating 3E data into specifications without usig ADM and OCC?

Our requirement is just to import the regulatory data for the compliance check from 3E. Once the data gets captured in specification property tree, we can utilize it further. We don't have the scope and resources to make a complex design.
If the specification system could be able to receive the regulatory content in any other file format, we can ask 3E to provide the files in that format ( if possible). As I understand,the standard systems used are IMDS or OCC or Ariel ADM. IMDS also seems to have a separate license.
Does anybody worked on integrating 3E/regulatory data into specifications without using ADM and IMDS? ( very much using the standard SAP out of the box functionality). We are using ECC 6 with EhP 5.

I have one long column and need to check the existence of perticular key word in all records. So I used below
function. Sometimes the length is more than 4000 bytes so i want to check string from 4000 bytes to 8000 bytes etc . till end of the string . result of string Passing to the Sbstr function. Anbody can help me to read the long data column value above 4000 bytes to 8000 etc.

How to secure firewire drive data for multi user mac ?

I have a couple of external firewire hard drives attached to my mac which contain all my work files.
My 6 yr son has started using my mac so I have set him up his own account and set up the parental controls etc.
BUT - is there any way I can set things up so the firewire drives dont appear to him or so he cant delete anything ?
It seems fairly straightforward to protect files files on the main hard drive but these firewire drives mount every time a user logs on and he seems to have full access to them.

Log in under your account, and highlight the drive on the Desktop. Click cmd-i to Get Info. Make sure that, under Ownership and Permissions, you do not have "Ignore Ownership on this Drive" ticked. Now, again using Get Info, make sure that all top-level folders are owned by you, and that other users do not have access. (You might want to reduce the number of top-level folders to make this easier.)
Now log in as your son and make sure you don't have access to those folders.

Hi,
For the Multi-Currency Business Partner, all the transactions will be converted to Local Currency in whatever Foreign Currency these are entered in database.
The lead currency will be Local Currency.
You can check the same in the Demo database with already available BP which is in Multi Currency. The Aging Report will display the total outstanding in asterisk (****) for multi currency BP if BP Currency is selected.

Physical sample is to keep the sample of a product till its shelf life expiry date. E.g. In case of any shelf life applicable product, the inspected sample will be retained till its expiry date. If any customer complaints are received, on inspecting the complaint, result may be compared with the existing physical sample.
In SAP, Material master should have inspection type 15.
To create physical sample, sample drawing procedure has to be created and attached to the header of inspection plan. With this set up when the lot is created, physical sample will also be created. Result recording should be done for physical sample. Physical sample storage information has to be updated through transaction code QPR2
