How to manually delete aThinkPad tablet app that was installed through Lenovo App Shop?

I hae been having trouble activating my McAfee security app. While working through the issue with their tech support, one of the first questions was of course to know if there is a previous version of the app installed. Only one version shows up in my app list, HOWEVER, using a file explorer app, I think I have found an older app that was installed via the Lenovo App Shop. WHen I try to delete the file through the file explorer, the tablet tells me that the file has been protected so that it can only be deleted through the Lenovo App Shop, which of course no longer exists. Is there a way to override this ?
I would really like to have functional security protection on my tablet!

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • My new I5 uploaded doubleded all the songs from my library! Please, can somebody help me showing how can I delete just the songs that was doubled?

    Hi there everybody,
My new Iphone 5 uploaded doubleded all the songs from my library! Please, can somebody help me showing how can I delete just the songs that was doubled?
Some help will be greatly appreciate.
    Thanks much!

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer?  Your iTunes library does not have an email address.  An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases.  Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID.  In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password).  That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS.  This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE:  If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).
If that's not what you mean by "changed the email address on my account," please post back with more details.

  • I accidentally deleted an app that was removed from the App Store on my iPod touch 3G and I really need it back, can I?

I deleted the app ifunny and I use it almost every day...SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Restoring an app that was installed by configurator

I have a group of supervised apps, and one of my users accidentally deleted the 3rd party Mail app we use for our email on iPads.  This was an app that we got through VPP, and pre-loaded on the devices before we issued them.
What's the easiest way to get the app back on the device for him?

Have you installed the OSX?  If not you will have to erase the Macbook and install the OSX so in order to register the Macbook with your Apple ID.  Then you will be able to download applications with your ID.
    Ciao.

  • How do I delete a photo album that was synced to my iPad?

Hello, normally I have the "Sync Photos from [drop down list]" option UNCHECKED. I checked it and selected a folder of 30 pictures that I wanted to add to my iPad.
Now, I've decided I don't want them. They cannot be simply deleted from the iPad. When I go to iTunes on my Macbook, I unchecked the Sync Photos from option, applied it, then synced my iPad. The option is unchecked but the pictures are still on my iPad and I'm still unable to delete them.

  • How do you get a refund for an app that was purchased through the new App Catalog for a WebOS app!

    Hi,
I just purchased a Dictionary app from Palm's App Catalog, the product is listed as: English Dictionary and Thesarus by Ultralingua, Inc. and it was not something that was advertised correctly and hence is not something that I want.
It costs a whopping $9.99 and if it was as advertised, it would have been worth the money but it is not.
I've had Dictionaries on my Palm Devices so when I saw the first directory for the WebOs for use on Pre, I immediately got it.
However, unlike my old Palm dictionaries, this dictionary requires you to have a network connection.  Something that is not useful for me.  I sometimes like to look up word while on the subway to work (I live in NYC) where this is no network connection.
There was nothing in the description that said it 'required' a network connection, and considering that all of the dictionaries I have gotten in the past did not require a network connection, I assumed (since it didn't state anything) that I could use it off-line.
Heck, since you are required to use this dictionary online, I might as well use google to lookup a word and that is free!
So I believe I was tricked into getting this app, and I want a refund!
And there doesn't seem to be a way to get a refund for an app that did not disclose it's requirements before I made my purchase.
Thanks for you help in finding out how to get a refund when its needed!

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Palm does have the ability to remove apps remotely, that was added in the last update.
I knew that would be Palm's response, but I earn you now, Palm better make sure they put a better description on these apps.  And in this case its Palm's fault for not disclosing that this app required network support in order to work.
They should at least make that part of a feature description.
This is the second app that I purchased that was not advertised correctly.  So I far I have spent good money on crap only because the descriptions did not contain the right info.
I see the only solution is to make all apps have at least a one hour free trail, or whatever free trial you want.
I and I'm sure I'm not alone can't keep purchasing stuff that either doesn't work as advertised or is misleading in the description.
I mean really Palm, you approved a dictionary app that just does a google in the background and displays the definition.
I can do that same thing by typing it on my Pre and hitting Google?
I still feel cheated and ripped off.
I signed up for Palm and WebOS because I wanted to give you a second chance but that love only goes so far.  I think Andriod will be in my life soon.  I can't stand by and let myself be taken advantage of.
I just can't believe how angry and upset I AM over this.

  • How can i update an app that was installed on a disabled account?

I had an account but disabled it because I made another one.
On the app store it says update an app but I cant because it was installed on the first account which is disabled.
Is it possible for me to update it without uninstalling and installing it again on my new account as I dont want to buy the app again?

The only way to be able download the update to the app on your new account would be to delete the app from your iPad (which will also delete all of its content/settings) and buy/download it on your new account - you can't merge accounts nor transfer content from one account to another account.
You might be able to re-enable the first account via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.

  • How do I delete a Dependant Activity that was accidentally added to a Service Request?

It does not let me "delete" the activity, any other I add I can delete. Also I tried to "Cancel" the Service Request, and it gave me an error, shown below.
Any Suggestions? This is the second time I have had this issue, but before I was able to cancel the Service Request for the User. This specific Request has already been worked, and they are just trying to close it, and that is where they saw that the dependant
activity was used instead of Manual Activity, and they can not close it.
FYI, we do NOT have change management turned on yet, we are fairly new to SCSM.

Was the activity already in-progress or pending? Once an activity has a status, it can no longer be deleted. This is based partly on ITIL principles as well as Service Manager's design. Once an activity "exists", it should only be pending, on hold,
in progress, completed, or skipped (or canceled/failed when things go wrong).
In my opinion, if you accidentally add an activity, you should simply set it to "Skip" and it won't interfere with your work item any longer.
You're free to delete activities that have no status (indicated by the yellow "star" icon on the activity). Typically activity templates will not have a status so you can easily add/remove them from a work item template. However, once you submit
a new activity to an existing work item, SCSM's workflow engine will set that activity's status which will prevent you from deleting it.
So, basically, if you see the star icon, you can delete the activity..otherwise, just set it to skipped.
If you want to get technical, you can use powershell or the SDK to really delete any activity, but there are pitfalls to watch out for. For example, if you delete an activity, make sure you adjust all the other activity's SequenceId values or the activities
probably won't run through their lifecycle properly.
As for the error you got when you tried to cancel it the first time, I'm not sure what caused that.

  • How do I delete an IOS update that was downloaded in iTunes but not yet installed on iPad

I am currently running IOS 5.1.1 on my iPad.  When IOS 6 came out, I connected my iPad to my computer and checked for the update through iTunes 10.7.0.21.  When it found it, I had it only download it and not install it.  I have yet to install IOS 6 and I now see that the iPad shows IOS 6.01 as an update.  But, if I connect the iPad to my computer and fire up iTunes, it says IOS 6 is ready to be installed.
How do I remove IOS 6 from iTunes and have it recheck and find IOS 6.01 without installing the IOS 6 first?  Is it possible.  I tried removing the iPad2,3_6.0_10A403_Restore file from the c://users/USER/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPad Software Updates folder and restart iTunes but it still tells me that IOS 6 is ready to be installed.
I would like to remove IOS 6 from iTunes so that I can download the IOS 6.01 version and go straight to that instead of installing IOS 6 first and then having to download and install IOS 6.01 after.
    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    - Dan

    James Ward4,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
Although I could install directly to the iPad, I prefer to go through iTunes so I have a copy of the install file just in case of install issues.
As for downloading the newer update to iTunes, could you elaborate on that.  The only way I know how to download the update is to connect the iPad to the computer and fire up iTunes and then have it check for updates.  Problem now is that since IOS 6 is sitting there waiting to be installed, I don't have the option to check for updates, just to install IOS 6.
As for installing IOS 6 first and then installing IOS 6.01, I was hoping to avoid the double install if I could while still going through iTunes.
    Thanks again for your thoughts.

  • How do I delete a recurring event that was sent from an outside source?

I have a number of recurring events that were added to the calendar from an outside calendar. A calendar that I do not have access to anymore. I wish to delete the entire series. Currently when I open the event I can not edit nor delete it. If I choose cut I am forced to cut each individual occurance of the event. Is there some way to delete the series?

you can try full re-sync of the calendar:
First you need to find out which account the offending calendar belongs to (you can find it in the event details)
    then go to settings/main,contacts,etc...
    Tap on the proper account
Then disable the calendar linked with this account (confirm deleting it from the iPhone)
Finaly re-enable the calendar and let it sync.

How can i cancel an account from my ipad store??
Accordingly, how could i update my apps using my new account??
    For more clarification;
I purchased my friend ipad with some applications that already downloaded before. I could use those apps & games easily but when i need to update any, i couldn't because i have to have an App account.
I created a new app account, now i can purchase & download any app but i can't update an old App that was purchased through my friend account.
Please take into your concederation that i don't want to delete the App & redownload it as i don't want to miss my data registed before.
    Please advice

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't transfer purchases from one account to the other. Your friend had no right selling you the iPod with purchases on it made from his account.

  • How do i delete all the photos that are in that Photo app?   it is eating up all my memory

how do i delete all the photos that are in that Photo app?   it is eating up all my memory

Photos transferred from your computer are removed from the iPhone the same way they were transferred from your computer, via the iTunes sync process. To remove all such photos, deselect Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.
Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera followed by deleting the photos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete.
