How to manually name tracks on itunes

How can I manually name tracks that I save on itunes? My iTunes insists on finding my CD's tracks online. But this is a custom CD, with home recorded original music tracks. Gracenotes is never going to find them. In the meantime, "Track01" is not at all helpful.

That is so freaking simple.  I right clicked and dismissed the get info selection.  Apple!  You are freakin' non-standard. ****.

  • How to manually remove artwork in iTunes 12.0.1?

    Hi,
I want to remove the artwork from an album. In the previous versions of iTunes, one could simply go to the info page and click the artwork check box and the artwork would be removed. In iTunes 12.0.1 there is not this option. Even if you try to right click on the songs and select "Clear Artwork" it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know how to manually remove artwork in this version of iTunes?
    Thanks so much,

The iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
    Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
    Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the center of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
    Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
    Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)

  • How do i rename tracks in itunes in a imac?

am new imac owner, previously had a PC and used right-click to rename tracks where itunes wasn't able to get track details when uploading CD's - how do i do this on the imac?  also how do i get album art work?  please don't judge me for ignorance Apple lovers......i have seen the light, i have converted, i just need a little help.....

You can use Get Info for a selected song - with a song selected at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Get Info - the keyboard shortcut for this will be available next to the Get Info selection.
iTunes includes an option to check for album artwork for songs that don't have it, or search the web and download your own which can be added via the Get Info function for a selected song. The last tab for the various selections is the artwork - it can be added there.

  • HT2953 how to join audiobook tracks in iTunes 11

Since there's no Advanced tab in iTunes 11, I can't figure out how to join audiobook tracks into one.  I am trying to add an audiobook to iTunes so I can transfer it to my iPod. For instance, each Disc has 10 different tracks.  I used to be able to click on the Advanced tab and then click Join and the tracks would be combined into one.  I don't see any option for doing that now.  Thanks for any help.

Just found the answer on another thread.  Answer was from j5Garcia:
You have to select the tracks to join then go to options I have been joining tracks with no issues. It took me a bit to figure out but I find it easier to join tracks than before since its right on the screen and you no longer have to go to the the toolbar.
If i could figure out how to take a screen shot I would post it.

  • How can I find tracks in itunes Music Library that I have NOT copied to my

    HI,
I have more tracks in my iTunes music library than will fit on my iPod. for each track in my iTunes music libary I'd like to see whether or not that track is also on my iPod. I know I can do this track by track by looking up each track in the iPod directory but that could take months. What I want is to be able to filter or sort my iTunes music library by this attribute so I can visually scan down the list and see what I'd like to move over to the iPod (after making space on the iPod by deleting songs I'm tired of)
How can I do this and what version of iTunes is needed.
    thanks -- Dan

The .xml file is basically just a playlist of your entire Library. You can create one by going to your main Library List view and click File > Export.. - then just save a new .xml file to the desktop (or wherever).

  • How to find original tracks in iTunes to delete

I use a MicroMemo with iTunes and 80GB G5 iPod. Once recorded, I convert recordings to AAC then delete the originals which are about 700MB in size each. Lately I accidentally clicked the "Keep files in iTunes Folder" option when deleting them from the iTunes Library instead of sending them "to Trash" to totally get rid of them. Now I want to find those tracks and put them into Trash once and for all. How can I find them?

Open your iTunes Music Folder in the Finder and type the file extension you are looking for into the search box (like .mp3). It will list all of the files that fit that criteria. If you need more refined search capability, click on the little "+" next to the "Save" button and choose from the list of criteria. The Other... option will allow you to choose just about any metadata criteria, but it may take a while to load.
Once done, you can save the search so you can use it again, if needed.

  • How to manually backup iPad to iTunes now that iCloud is working?i

Now that iCloud is backing up my iPad finally, I would still like to do a manual backup to iTunes. Can someone provied the details of how to do this correctly? I assume I still have to tether it to my iMac. I'm confused because It looks like it is still backing up to iTunes as it did before but I seems some people using right click on iTunes Icon and so on, so need to get the correct procedure. Thanks

You cannot backup to iCloud and to the computer at the same time if that is what you are asking - in other words if you are looking for a way to always have "backup to iCloud" enabled and "Backup to this computer" enabled - both at the same time - you can't do it.
There is no way to set it up so the whenever you backup - you backup to iCloud and the computer at the same time - simultaneously that is. Does that answer your question?
I thought the OP was asking how to switch between the cloud and the computer for backups but maybe I am wrong.

  • How do I delete tracks in iTunes 11.0?

I used to be able to delete tracks in previous versions of iTunes.
iTunes 11.0 does not permit me to delete tracks either via keyboard interaction or via right-click menu.
I can navigate to the tracks that I want to remove and delete the source files, but then the track details remain in the playlists.

How are you trying to delete? Highlight the song in the library and press the delete key, that works for me. Alternatively right click on the song (ctrl - click if using a single button mouse) and choose Delete from the menu. To delete a song from a playlist hold down the option (⌥ ) key and press delete.

  • How do I delet tracks in iTunes 9

I have just downloaded iTunes 9 and now I cannot seem to be able to delet tracks. The "delete" option has disappeared from the right click menu and is greyed out in the edit menu at the top. Would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

I have re-installed iTunes and (after a couple of attempts) it seems to have sorted the problem out.

    Hello ppleanswers,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. If you want to see the exclamation marks to let you know that what files are missing,  The following article will guide you if you are on and Mac, if you are on Windows, then to link below the Mac article will take care of you

Consolidate your files in the iTunes folder
Depending on how you imported items into iTunes, some items in your library might be stored in different locations (in another folder or on another hard disk, for example).
You can consolidate all the files in your library in the iTunes folder—for example, to make it easier to move your library to a new computer.
Choose File > Library > Organize Library.
    Select “Consolidate files.”
Files remain in their original locations, and copies are placed in the iTunes folder.

  • How to manually sort playlists in iTunes?

Okay so I know you can manually sort songs within a playlist on iTunes but I wanted to know if you could manually sort the order of the playlists. It just defaults to alphabetic order which is annoying because I don't want them in that order...Is it possible to do this? Thanks!

    No you cannot.
To sort them, you need to rename them.

  • No internet connection - how do I name things in itunes library?

    Hi
I'm new to all this mac stuff so forgive my stupidity. I understand that when I load a CD on my Imac G5, if it is connected to the internet, the songs, album titles and details etc will automatically be identified.
At the moment I'm not connected to the net and I want to input the details my self so the details appear in the library.
    Can anybody help?

    memyselfandimac,
    It's easy. Have a look:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesMac/5.0/en/510.html
You can also use the Get CD Track Names from the Advanced menu at a later time when you are connected to the internet.

  • How do I change track names manually?

How do I change track names manually?

    There are a few ways:
Highlight song, press function key f2, edit name, press enter.
You can edit other fields by clicking twice in them slowly, click too fast and iTunes will play the track
Or you can highlight one or more songs and either right-click and choose Get Info, or press ctrl-i to bring up a dialog box for editing properties.
iTunes won't let you edit properties of tracks that are read-only or for which your account does not have write permissions. See this post if that applies.
