How to manually select automated text snippets (e.g. auto numbering)

Hi,
I tried looking in the help, cant find anyt
I have a few occassions where I need to change the text-color to white, because of the dark background. I created a Character Style called "Negative" where I simply set the Text Color to White.
So far so good. However I am not able to select and apply the style to the automated elements of the paragraph styles like paragraph numbering for example.
I can only select "Lorem ipsum" from a "1.) Lorem Ipsum" you know. Is there a way to do that without having to define a whole set of new paragraph styles for the other color?

Just to illustrate why creating a whole set of new paragraph style is not an option for me:
I have millions of cross-references, which are related to paragraph styles. So if i have to change my Headline 2 to Headline 2 Negative just to edit the color for example, I lose the cross-references and get myself in a huge mess. Semantically my desired editing of color does not require a whole set of new paragraph styles (I have about 7 for the body text only, for example Body Indented, Not Indented (for the first line in column), Quote etc.), doing it manually on the 10-15 pages where it happens, is perfectly sufficient.
I think this goes into the feature request form.

Depending on the type's characteristics, you could try defining the text's character color with a very thin paper stroke, a fraction of a point, that would be invisible on light backgrounds, but visible against dark backgrounds. For numbered and bulleted paragraph styles, you'd need to include a character style with the same outline properties in the number or bullet definition.

Say you have 100 pages in a document and you have a threaded text box placed on pages 1 through 100. How do you selected all the text boxes at the same time? You might do this to change the size of the boxes, or lock all of the boxes, or apply an object style to all of the boxes.

Depending upon how well your document is set up though, layout adjustment might work.
If changing text box size is on your agenda, and every text box is lying exactly on guides, then layout adjustment might work.
The only way I can think of to lock all frames in a story, or to change the size of all text frames in a story, would be to write a Javascript. And, even after years of practice, I know that it'd still be faster for me to just step through the document and make the changes by hand than it would be to bang my head against Javascript for n hours before I found a good solution.

is actually pretty accurate. Terse, maybe, but accurate.

How do I select multiple text in Pages

I'm using the newest version of pages.
In MS office WORD, I can hold the Ctrl key and with multiple klick in the text I can select multiple text.
Does pages has the similar function?

Not possible in Pages 5.2.2, this has been removed by Apple along with 110 features.
In Pages '09 you hold down the command key, the exact same equivalent as in Word for Windows.

But I am not able to give text to the selection parameters.
I checked with Modification overview, its not allowing me to put text to custom Selection screen parameters.

I had created a dynamic selection text for a select-option created using Implicit Enhancements.
The select-option field is for MARA-MTART and the dynamic text i had given in the code is "Material Type".
But my client wants it to refer to the data dictionary reference so that it will print the labels given there and especially in the logon language.
Generally it can be done by selecting the checkbox next to the select-option, available in the Text Elements/Selection Texts Screen of the ABAP Editor.
So how to check that box(i.e., how to refer the data dictionary reference) dynamically?

Cannot manually select Automator workflows in iCal

I know That the Way, Apple intends that we create an Automator workflow as an iCal alarm is to create a new iCal alarm in Automator, and once you save it it automatically creates a new event in iCal. Unfortunately, that's not the way I want to work… I already have dozens of iCal alarms configured, and I'm trying to prep them for Mountain Lion: the currently open AppleScript's but all of my Apple scripts need to be converted to Automator workflows for Mountain Lion. So I was hoping to quickly duplicate previous iCal workflows, then reselect them from within existing events in iCal. Sadly, all of my iCal Automator workflows appear as greyed out in my File Open dialog when attempting to select a new file to run within my iCal alert.
I don't want to have to delete all of my iCal alarms and start over creating them anew. Perhaps I am missing something simple?

according to the first link I can save the applecript as an application. It doesn't answer why my automator workflows are greyed out when I try to select them, but maybe I'll just try saving as applications... sounds simpler.

How to Export Selected PageItems as Snippets (CS5/ActionScript)

I want to select certain PageItems on a page and export them as snippets. The problem is that as far as I can tell, the exportFile() method works only on PageItem for snippets. I can not make a Group out of them and export that Group, because making a Group out of the selected PageItems would make them lose their original Layer, and I must preserve their Layers.
What do I do?

Only what can I do in your case is to give you some information about DirectX.
If you have an older version of DirectX and a program needs a newer version, you will often see some errors. To fix most of these problems, all you need to do is make sure that you have downloaded the latest version on your system.
DirectX is supposed to be backward compatible. If you have some problem with specific game and if a game was written for DirectX 8, it should run if you have DirectX 9 installed on your PC. However, a game written specifically for DirectX 9 will generally not run on DirectX 8 or earlier.
I suppose that you have DirectX V9.0a installed on your machine. Install the latest version and let us know is there some error again.

It's more of a network problem in my case. I had a microcell in a previous location that I lived where I was on the edge of coverage. It was given to me for free as with your mother but did not come close to yielding the same results.
My current situation is not one with coverage (3 to 4 bars) but due to sub-par network perfromance. I'll get about 10-20% of my calls to go through, missed emails and texts that show up hours after they were sent. This was never a problem with my 3GS iphone as I simply left it on 2G when at home.
I believe the issue is with 1 of 2 things:
1) uplink - downlink imbalance
2) pilot beacon interference
To get ATT to fix these issues at my serving cell would be next to impossible.
This is a product of a poor ATT 3G network but also a bad reflection on Apple and their iPhone as my wife has a Blackberry and does not experience the same problems.

Rather than repeat the reply I recently provided to a similar question, take a look at the ASC thread "...select and Copy Text from A WEB SITE...". My reply explains how to access a Google cached text-only version of a webpage. In brief: type "cache:" at the beginning of a web address and press the Enter key. Click on the "Text-only version" link. This is only one method, but is generally effective when needing to copy text. One caveat being that it won't work on pages that aren't cached, as may be the case as you traverse deeper into a website or visit more obscure ones. Depending upon the technologies involved, there are other instances where it will fail; certainly when the text presented is in an image format.
