How to manually uninstall extension?

Hi there,
I have recently installed the beta version of this extension: http://randomuser.me/index
But they now released a final version and I tried to remove the old one, but it doesn't show up in the Extension Manager list in Photoshop.
I tried installing the new version, so it would overwright, but now I have both extensions installed.
How can I manually uninstall the beta version? Any help?
Thanks

which I am only guessing happened during moving of files from my old Windows XP computer (by a third-party utility).
PC Mover is one of the classic suspects with this.
Let's try the following procedure.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How do I uninstall extensions from my mac?

How do I uninstall extensions from my mac? I'm trying to uninstall the Greatdy System Audio and Sunflower extensions. It would really be nice if macs had a comprehensive program to uninstall programs and plugins.

Open Extensions preferences in System Preferences. That is if you mean Yosemite extensions. Otherwise, use any uninstaller provided by the developer or read the following:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia

  • How to manually uninstall Adobe Acrobat 9 or force installation?

Acrobat was not cleanly uninstalled with a installation manager Total Uninstall, and now the standard uninstaller is no longer available.  Reinstallation is currently not possible because the installer believes Acrobat is still installed.  It seems my only option is to manually uninstall Acrobat, or possibily simplier option of forcing installation.  I have removed all directories and subdirectories associated with Acrobat but this is not enough.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well I guess you know now not to use crappy 3rd party utilties. What's wrong with using your OSes application removal anyways ?! That's what it's there for. <end of rant>
Go to Microsoft download and get the "Installer Cleanup Utility" (not sure if that's the correct name, but it's close enough . Run it and see if you can proceed with the installation of Acrobat.
FWIW it's not as simple as that.  We use an administrative install point, (following adobe's "instructions" I might add), and several systems, including mine, got pretty jacked up from the 9.3.2 quarterly update.
Had to rip it out by the roots, and the msi cleanup is only part of the solution.  Don't ask for a howto - I'm still too traumatized.
Registry surgery, boot to safe mode, remove application directory, some start->run entries, yada yada yada.  Had to boot into linux to fix the recycle bin after all was said and done.
    What a bloated mess.
I will add that most systems were fine, but this application is waaaaaaay too complex for what it does.  Installation is fragile in a managed desktop environment, repair tedious.  Updates are unforgiveably large and The MSP approach to patches/updates is a freaking nightmare to deal with.  It sprays crap all over the system, the registry, and what the installer does is poorly documented if at all.
Funny how adobe nevers seems to chime in on any of these threads, BTW.

i have problems with j2re 1.4.0 installation and i would really appreciate any help.
here's my problem : i first installed j2re 1.4.0_02 and then j2re 1.4.1, without uninstalling the first version. so, i had two plug-ins running on my pc.
i decided to uninstall both and reinstall 1.4.0.
after uninstalling both jre, i tried to launch the installation program but it doesn't seem to work (actually it doesn't stop, when trying to install the plug-in).
i suppose that the unistall process didn't work properly, so now i would like to uninstall jre manually before trying to install it again (i deleted manually the j2re directory, but it's not enough of course).
so, please help me because now i don't have any jre (and no plug-ins also)

You may need to manually uninstall the J2SE 1.4.0_01 JRE. To do so, follow these steps:
Go to Control Panel; select Java Plug-in. Click on the Browsers tab. Uncheck both IE and Netscape6.
Remove the directory in which you placed the J2SE JRE. For example, remove C:/Program Files/Java/j2re1.4.0_01.
Remove the following files from the Microsoft Windows System Directory:
    plugincpl140_01.cpl
    java.exe
    javaw.exe
On Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP:
    C:/winnt/system32
On Microsoft Windows 98 and ME:
    C:/windows
    Remove the following Registry Keys:
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/Javasoft/Java Runtime Environment/1.4.0_01
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall/7C F31609-270B-11D6-9445-000102308676

  • How to manually uninstall Java EE 5 Update 8 including Glassfish service

    Hi,
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I've done some searching and can't find it.
I have Windows 7 professional, and I installed the Java EE SDK 5 update 8 which includes Glassfish 2.1.1 onto my system. Due to multitasking during installation (aka not paying enough attention) it installed in a really weird place ({MyUser}\AppData\Local\Temp\java_ee_sdk-5_08-jdk-6u17-windows.exe2) and I want to uninstall it and reinstall. However I cannot find an uninstall anywhere. Has anyone any ideas on how I can do this or know where the install extracts to before running so I can see if I can find it there?
    Any suggestions gratefully received!
    Thanks,
    Caroline

After a lot more work, the "repeated-every-10-seconds" messages seem to be gone now.
To review, I already deleted these folders and files:
         /Library/Application Support/DriveGenius
         /Applications/Drive Genius 3.app
         /Users/Library/Application Support/DriveGenius
         /Users/Library/Preferences/com.prosofteng.DriveGenius2.plist
         /Users/Library/Preferences/com.prosofteng.DGAgent.plist
I found this file and tried to remove it:
         /Users/jimp/Library/LaunchAgents/com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist
Dragging the file to the trash did not work. Trying to remove the file via the Terminal "rm" command did not work. Even doing
"sudo rm com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist" would not work, resulting in the message:
"rm: com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist: Operation not permitted" and the file was still there.
I used COMMAND-I to change the file permission to READ AND WRITE and then used the VI editor in Terminal to "comment out" every line of the file by adding a "#" at the start of each line. Then I wrote out the file.
I still could not remove the file---I don't know why--- but I suppose it is now inert and can't do anything.
Upon restarting, the Console log no longer shows those "every-10-seconds" errors.
I assume my problem is solved?
I have yet to determine whether the Mac Pro will go to sleep as it used to do.
Now I need to remember to NEVER TRY INSTALLING DRIVE GENIUS or other dangerous applications again.
I hope these notes are of some value to other Mac 10.6.8 users out there.

  • How to manually uninstall or fool the dynadock U3.0 drivers

I had to restore my computer from a backup image.  After the restore, my dynadock U3.0 was no longer recognized, and even the icons in 'Programs and Features' did not look normal.
I thought to myself, "No problem...I will simply uninstall and re-install the drivers..."
I tried to gracefully uninstall the drivers via 'Programs and Features', but the two line items that were related to the dynadock would not uninstall.  They both claimed they could not find the appropriate MSI package for their respective installs.
As a result, I used the third-party utility 'Revo Uninstaller Pro' to force the uninstall.  Revo seemed to indicate success, and the two line items related to the dynadock are no longer seen in Programs and Features.
HOWEVER, when I now attempt to re-install the dynadock drivers, I get the message:
"DisplayLink Software for TOSHIBA USB Display Drivers is already up to date."
So I'm looking for guidance on what to hack to fool the dynadock installation program into thinking it needs to perform a fresh installation.
I was really happy with the functionality and performance of the dynadock U3.0, but right now it is a brick.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I figured out why my dynadock installation was corrupted in the first place.  The disk imaging software that I use did some incorrect things with the Windows registry *after* restoring a backup image to my hard drive.  The registry manipulation adversely affected several things, including the dynadock drivers and programs (and the ability to uninstall them).  I addressed the fundamental problem that led to this misbehavior and executed another image restore to my hard drive.  My dynadock and everything else worked perfectly after this restore.
Even though my issue was rare, I thought I would pass on knowledge of the following cleaner/uninstallation utility that I found at the DisplayLink website.  It worked perfectly during my diagnostics...
    http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
The TOSHIBA dynadock U3.0 utilizes a chipset/technology from DisplayLink (i.e., it is OEM'ed to TOSHIBA from DisplayLink).  This software and hardware technology is what allows the dynadock to receive the video stream via USB from the host computer.  Vendors--in this case TOSHIBA--build the rest of their functionality on top of the 'DisplayLink Core Software'.  As a result, the cleaner utility from DisplayLink wipes out all trace of the entire dynadock installation.

  • How to manually uninstall Encore?

There's oddly enough no entry for Encore in my control panel/add remove programs, and I am wanting to uninstall to troubleshoot some issues and reinstall. Is there any uninstaller hidden in the Adobe folders anywhere?

  • How to manually uninstall the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack?

Hey there, I have a problem with the uninstallation of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack v4.00.20 on my Windows XP SP2 notebook. Whenever I choose to remove the "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" (and "Bluetooth HID Switch Service") the installer starts preparing but hangs after a short while - the only way to continue is to power the notebook off. :(
The same happens when I try to update the stack to the latest version - the installer says that the old stack has to be removed first and hangs after trying to remove it. So is there a way to remove it by hand? I really don't want to reinstall Windows because of that.
The reason why I want to uninstall/update the stack is because my Jabra BT620s headset doesn't work with it. I can connect it and use it as earphones (the music quality is pretty good) but I cannot use the built-in microphone. This works with the Widcomm stack but with this one I have quality issues.
    Thanks in advance.

If only your headphone works and not your headset then you have most likely not configured the headset profile. Use the "Custom Mode" of Bluetooth settings and setup also HFP (or HSP if HSP does not exist) then it should work.

  • Manual Uninstall of Java 1.4.2

A user installed Java 1.4.2 from disk, now we can't uninstall it (tries looking for files on the D drive)
Anyway, does anyone have a step-by-step on how to manually uninstall 1.4.2 and delete reg keys??
    Thanks!

not as simple as deleting the folder, I'm afraid. The forums are awash with problems from people who do such things and then can't install any JDK subsequently... Also, 1.5 was never going to overwrite 1.4.x as you might want to have multiple versions of the JDK on your machine for deployment compatibility...
Have a search in these forums to see how people have solved this problem before.

  • How do I uninstall Norton AntiVirus so I don't get msg after startup?

Last year I received an iPod Nano, and then found out I needed to upgrade my OS because my version of iTunes wasn't compatible with the Nano. Ever since I've been getting a msg saying to reinstall Norton AntiVirus after I startup. I have a 2003 iBook G3 (and I don't know where I put the disk to reinstall). I've tried to drag to the trash the applications, including the startup items from the library, but nothing has worked. And apparently you can't trash some Norton AntiVirus items because "they are in use". How can they be in use if they need to be reinstalled? How do I get this app off my computer so it doesn't pause on the reinstall msg each time??
This is part one of a two part dilemma...

  • How do I manually uninstall FIM Portal and Service 2010

I installed Forefront Identity Manager 2010 as follows:
    Server 1: FIM Sync Service
Servers 2, 3: SharePoint Farm, FIM Portal and Service
I've had issues from the installation. When installing FIM Portal and Service on Server 2 it failed to recognize fim sync service on server 1. We had FIM service unavailable errors in most usage scenarios (even though asmx returned service description).
I was able to use RunAs different user to start browser as the service account used to install and run the FIM service, browse to the identity management site using
http://localhost and saw the fim portal. I was never able to see the portal using DNS address or server name from the server 2 or any other computer on the network, or using any other account (although I checked the option to
enable portal access for authenticated users).
I tried to uninstall - this went through all the steps but failed during apply and did a rollback. However, subsequent attempts to change, repair or uninstall all fail with message that the site was not found, please create it...
I would like to manually remove FIM Service and Portal and begin again. How do I manually remove FIM Service and Portal when uninstall fails?
    Thanks,
    David Saylor

Are you getting this error message while uninstalling FIM?
FIM Portal and Service is trying to find a site which is not there anymore.  Just add  the url which FIM was looking into the Central Administration >> Alternate Access Mappings
Save and exit out from Central Administration and try to uninstall now and it should work.  It worked for me.

  • Novatel Mobile Broadband Drivers - how do I manually uninstall them?

I am using Windows 7 and the Mifi 2200. I have tried to uninstall the Novatel Mobile Broadband drives through the control panel, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to manually remove those drivers from my computer? Thank you.

Actually, sometimes Win 7 will leave the driver/software in the Programs & Features list if there are multiple drivers, etc. with one install.  Such as VZAccess Manager and Mobile Broadband Generic Drivers.
More than likely if you had restarted the system and went back to the list you more than likely would've seen them removed. What error is the VZAccess Manager/MIFI giving upon the install?
Most times it will uninstall the software but not remove it from the list of Programs so you likely don't have anything to worry about.
To be on the safe side and begin with a clean install of the MIFI.
    Try these steps:
Go to Control Panel, User Accounts, Change User Account Control Settings, then pull the slider all the way down to "Never Notify"
    1. Make sure both devices are unplugged from the Computer.
    2. Click Start, Control Panel.  Look at the top right of the Control Panel window just under the search box and if it says Category, click on it and choose Large Icons.  This will alphabetically list all items.
    3. Choose Programs and Features
    4. Scroll down and look for VZAccess Manager, Verizon Wireless Firmware update and the like.
    5. If either of these exists, remove them.
    6. Restart the computer, (Not shutdown)
    7. Upon restart go to Start Control Panel, Internet Options.  Click on the "Connections" tab, verify there is nothing listed in the Dialup or VPN connections, if so, click on all the and then click Remove. Close when finished but stay in Control Panel.
    8. From Control Panel, go to Phone and Modems, Click "Modems".  Remove all modems from this list if any with the exception of the internal modem.
    9. Close the Control Panel and disable your Anti-Virus program.  Plug the MIFI in the USB port and begin the install.
Note:  The MIFI is also a Novatel Wireless device that has Generic Drivers, so you will see them in the Programs and Features list along with the VZAccess.
Let me know how it goes and if this was of any help.

  • How do I manually uninstall Photoshop 7 Wiindows 7?

I have an old install of Photoshop 7 on my laptop (Windows 7 32-bit) that I am unable to uninstall. I have admin rights, but using the Windows program uninstaller tells me that I don't have sufficient rights to uninstall. The original program CD does not have an uninstall option, nor does attempting to re-install from the CD change my ability to uninstall it. A search of the web and search of Adobe's site have support documents for removing PS Elements and the CS versions of PS, but not version 7, at least that I have been able to find.
I understand the process of manually removing software and removing its entries with RegEdit, I am just looking for a document that lists all the registry entries specific to Photoshop 7. Note: just searching for any "Adobe" or "Photoshop" entries within RegEdit won't work as I have other Adobe software, including a newer versions of Photoshop that I do not want to remove, so I'm looking for a list of all registry keys that are specific to PS7, as well as, the various other folders a PS install creates. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
