How to map with GW8 Server external POP3 mail accounts ?

I have "small" simple problem. I have GW Server 8.0.2. I have GW Internet Access (GWIA) installed. I can send e-mailes from clients to internet via built-tin SMTP protocol. It works actually.
But... I try to find place in C1 or wherever else which is responsible for setting list of external POP3 accounts, accounts placed on my current Internet Provider's server. So my simple need is to map, to be able to connect and download as server GW and to server GW many POP3 accounts from my current e-mail Server. And than which e-mail adress (external POP3 account) should be saved to which mailbox / user in my GW Server. I'm not talking about mapping that accounts indirectly, via setting in Clients !!! Everything must go via GW Server and automatically.
I dont want to change that state of course (= reach e-mailes from Internet directly to my local GW Server changing MX in DNS of my domain). Nope. I just want to map, to download posts from external mailboxes via POP3 or IMAP protocole. Nothing else.
I'm fluent in Microsoft systems. There is just simply POP3 Connector for Exchange. SMall utility whish is simple list of login, pass, POP3 server adress and name of mailbox where to save such downloaded e-mailes. I just need the same functionally utility or page in C1 or any other place ;-)))
ANY HELP ?
Cause Google are blind for that simple "problem" :-((( I know - Novell describes POP3 solution in GW8 Admin book, but... only as I want to be POP3 Server for external clients. This is slightly different, reversed sittuation :-]]] I want to connect to POP3 accounts, not to server POP3 accounts :-]]]]

You need to use an "old" tool called pfa (pop forwarding agent) that came with SBS.
You set the external email server credentials in the user's object via C1 and the java applet runs on the same box as your gwia.

  • How to communicate with a server ?

    Hello.
I'm an intern trying to find a RIA client to use with a Java application server. The server provides two ways to access data :
    - a HTTP servlet that deals with XML
    - a web service
I can't find information about how to communicate with a server using JavaFX 2, so can you try to explain it to me ?
I'm sorry if what I ask is stupid, but I'm not very familiar with these things, I'm just a student.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
communicate with a server is not JavaFX speciffic. You can use any "Java way" to access web-services or http requests. Try Axis2, it creates you the client API from the WSDL (the webservices on your server should provide the WSDL), than you can use this created client API to access the web-service in your JavaFX application. (see: http://people.apache.org/~ruchithf/hw-axis2/). You should be aware that by default you are working on one Application Thread (JavaFX as well as Swing and SWT), so when your first poc. is running you should use the javafx concurrent api, to create non blocking requests (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/threads/jfxpub-threads.htm).

  • How outlook communicate with exchnage server 2013/2010/2007

when  i am creating a outlook profile for any user to access the mail box from exchange server. on that time how outlook communicate with exchange server.
    Abp

    Hi paul440,
    Thank you for your question.
If we have configured autodiscovery correctly, outlook will connect Exchange CAS server by autodiscovery, autodiscovery will direct outlook to connect correct CAS server by user’s mailbox location. For Example, if the user mailbox located on Exchange 2010,
outlook will connect Exchange 2010 CAS. if the user mailbox located on Exchange 2013, outlook will connect Exchange 2013 CAS.
We could refer to the following link:

  • How can I edit external e-mails accounts configurations I had on Mobile Me mail and now on iCloud?

how can I edit external e-mails accounts configurations I had on Mobile Me mail and now are
    on iCloud?

Thanks for the answer, but the external POP accounts I had in my MobileMe are working in my iCloud! I receive all the e-mails that are directed to those POP accounts, in my iCloud e-mail, since I migrated from Mobileme to iCloud. So, iCloud accepts external accounts, but i doesn't allow us to edit new configurations or to send e-mails using Pop Accounts through it. Very weird. Does anybody have a solution?

  • How do I set up a hotmail e-mail account on my iphone?

How do I set up a hotmail e-mail account on my iphone?

Microsoft just changed this POP mail item this month - they now allow this with a HOTMAIL PLUS account -
I was finally able to set up my iphone to support my Hotmail Plus email account. I did make a mistake initially which caused it to fail at first so I delete the new account and tried again - here are my steps:
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to Mail
    3. Go to Add a new Account
    4. Click Other
    5. Click the POP button - do not leave it on the default IMAP button (this is where I mady my mistake.
Then fill in these values as the prior poster noted:
NAME: Enter your name here, or some other value.
ADDRESS: Enter your full hotmail email address
DESCRIPTION: Create a description such as "hotmail account"
    INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Host name: pop3.live.com
User name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter your password for this account)
    OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
    Host Name: smtp.live.com
User Name: (enter your full hotmail email address)
Password: (enter the password for this account)
    Under the ADVANCED SETTINGS
Make sure incoming and outgoing SSL is 'ON' - Authentication is set to Password
Pleaes note also that my hotmail account has a couple thousand emails in it going back several years so my iphone started inporting the first 200 - then it stopped, so I had to delete many of them, check for mail again and it imported some more, then I deleted more, imported more, and on and on - and it seems to do it by date, so the oldest messages come in first - justs something to keep in mind.
If you don't have a hotmail plus account - it might be worth the $20 a year to get this access if you use your hotmail alot. It beats forwarding messasges to another email to come into your phone or useing some third party like izy that than has your password info.

  • How can I change my iCloud my e-mail-account

How can I change my iCloud my e-mail-account?

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

  • How to deal with credentials for external applications using a Java Client/

    Hi Guys,
This is the case. I am integrating an external application with an ADF Application. I have implemented some programmatic ViewObjects that are being filled up by a REST Java Client Wrapper. Everything is working fine but the issue is that the credentials the wrapper is using are hard coded inside the java class. I am thinking to ask for the credentials at the beginning of my taskflow and then store them somewhere and use them then to create my client wrapper (passing them in the constructor).
However, I don't know if my approach is good and I would like you to share your experiences or how to deal with this.
    Regards

You can use Credential Store Framework to store the credentials securely in the weblogic server instead of hardcoding in the java class.
    The Credential Store Framework:
    - enables you to manage credentials securely
    - provides an API for storage, retrieval, and maintenance of credentials in different back-end repositories
Check the documentation on CSF API -
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29505_01/core.1111/e10043/devcsf.htm
    Major Steps -
    1. Create a credential map and key in em console to store the password (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/core.1111/e10043/csfadmin.htm)
    2. Use CSF API to retrieve the stored password
    3. In jazn-data.xml give permissions to access CSF key and map

  • FDMEE/LCM : LCM is merging target server maps with source server maps

    Hi,
We would like to copy thanks to LCM our FDMEE application from production to developpement server.
We have done several tests on developpement that we would like to remove.
We need to have production/development environnement AS-IS.
The problem is that LCM is merging taret server location / data load rule / import format / maps with the source one.
We have opened an SR on this subject.
Meanwhile we would like to create a SQL request to clean import format / data load rule / location / maps table within target server before the LCM import.
Is that ok if we delete all records on these following table or could we have an impact ?
    - AIF_BALANCE_RULES (Data load rule table)
    - TDATAMAP / TDATAMAP_STG /TDATAMAPSEG (maps tables)
    - TPOVPARTITION (location table)
    - TBHVIMPGROUP; TBHVIMPITEMFILE (import format table)
    What do you think ?
    Thanks.

  • How can I control SMTP server list in Mail?

I've seen a lot of discussion about e.g. deleting servers, but it often includes smug replies like "click the delete button" when there is often no such button. I have found a possible 'get around' to this particular problem by changing the server data to something that doesn't exist, save that, then select the server again from the list and hey presto, there is now a Delete button you can use. But again, that is not the full story because if that server is used as the primary server for any other account, you cannot modify the data.
Not only that, but you CANNOT simply swap servers so that e.g. an account uses one of the other servers as its primary server. Unless I'm missing something major here, it is NOT possible to move servers. You can change the data for the server to be exactly the same as another server, but that just means you now have an identical duplicate. Once a server entry has been created, it is an independent data entity.
So I seem to have several problems here.
    1. A server cannot be deleted if it's in use as a primary for any account.
    2. Servers cannot be moved, i.e. swapped between 'Primary' and 'Other'
    3. Simply editing the server data does not 'merge' it with any other entry that may have the exact same data.
    4. When creating an account, you cannot pick the outgoing SMTP server from the list of ones already created. Simply entering the same data as one that already exists may use that existing server, but may create a new duplicate. I have seen both of these occur and once there's a duplicate, you cannot get rid of it.
I want 3 accounts to all use the same 'Primary' server and also have the same 'Other' server. IOW, only 2 actual servers. After the first 2 accounts are created, that's what I have. Somehow they seem to be able to 'share' the same servers. But when I create the third account and enter the same data for its SMTP server as the others use as their primary (i.e. exactly the same process as when creating the second account), for some reason it does NOT use the existing matching server and I now get a third server created. I simply cannot get around this since whatever I do, each of the duplicates is used as a primary and so cannot be deleted. If I could swap them around so that the third account was using another account as its primary, then I could delete the duplicate and all would be well, but as pointed out above, that's not possible.
I'm hoping that I'm simply wrong about all this and it is actually possible to do what I currently believe it impossible. Can anyone explain how to actually control this server list?

i have exactly the same problem using 10.9.4 - did you ever get a reply?

  • How do I link my wife's Live Mail account through Outlook to sync with new Iphone?

I have a MacBook Pro running Lion. My wife has an Live Mail Account she mainly accesses via Outlook for Mac. She's about to buy an Iphone - how do I sync her mail and contacts?

    settings>mail, contacts, calendars>add account
that should take you through the steps of getting it set up to sync, as far as adding servers and such. When it's set up on the phone, she'll have the option to turn contacts on to merge them with the phone

  • How do I fix it when an e-mail account disappears from the left panel of the main interface (with inbox of another account on right)..

I recently added two accounts to Thunderbird and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Today I was using one of the new accounts and wanted to change to my old Edurostream account. But it was nowhere to be found. The new accounts and another old account are there. If I go to "accounts" Edurostream is still there, but there is no way I know of to get from there to the inbox for that account. There is no error message. I am using the latest version of Thunderbird (24.6)

If you have all your emails going to Local folders, this sounds like you have a Global Inbox for the pop mail account.
    You can check this here:
Tools > Account settings > Server Settings for the mail account.
    click on 'Advanced' button.
    Is this selected?
'Inbox for a different account' and 'Global Inbox (Local Folders)'
Global Inbox accounts do not show the mail account name in the Folder Pane as it does not use those folders.
See info on Global Inbox account:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Global_Inbox
If you remove the account, the emails will remain in Local Folders.
If you change the settings as described above to point to 'Inbox for this servers account (also see image below - words may be a bit different as not an image of latest version), then you will see the mail account in the Folder Pane with it's own set of folders. New mail will go to those folders, but old mail will remain in Local Folders.

  • How to deal with 4GB limit of the mail box

Thunderbird says there is not enough space, even after archiving too. please guide to increase the limit from 4 GB to higher

Is that message regarding Thunderbird folders or the server?
    Background info:
Pop mail account folders and synchronised subscribed imap folders download emails and store them in mbox files.
You will see Folders in your Folder Pane, but in reality the emails are stored one after the other, in the order they were downloaded in a file. So they are not stored as separate emails.
If you have them stored in eg: Inbox, these emails are actually stored in one file; a single document.
So it is a good idea to organise them into separate folder in the Folder Pane to make the files smaller, This means therre is less risk and it uses less memory to open the files. Archiving by year and month and keeping folder structure will organise the emails into small files.
    See Archiving options:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/archived-messages
Emails that are deleted are 'marked as deleted' and from your point of view they are moved to the 'Deleted' folder. In reality they are still in the Inbox (or what ever folder) just hidden, marked as deleted and still taking up space.
It is possible that you have old deleted mail taking up space.
So to remove all of those 'marked as deleted' emails you would need to right click on folder and select 'compact' or you can compact all folders using 'File > Compact folders.
Please note that if the folder has any corruption, you may lose emails.
As a precaution especially on the Inbox as this folder sees the most downloading, moving and deleting; I would move all good emails into suitable folders; delete what you do not want and then when the Inbox is empty compact the folder. As general useage, the Inbox should ideally be kept low in email numbers and not used as a general storage.
The Sent folder can also get a lot of emails, so make sure you Archive that folder as well.
Junk and Deleted folders need to be emptied and compacted too.
'''If you got that message from the server'''
Check how many emails are kept on the server.
'''If you have Pop mail accounts''' then the server would expect you to download and delete frequently off the server.
You can configure this in your Account Settings.
right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings', then choose 'Server Settings for the mail account
    or
Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
    or
Menu icon > options > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
You can select to 'Leave messages on server'
You can also select 'for at most eg: 32 days'
which will only keep the more recent email
You can also select 'Until I delete them'
This will delete anything you have deleted if less than eg: 32 days.
Click on Ok to save changes.
'''If you have an IMAP mail account''' and you have reached you quota limits, I would suggest you synchronise folders and then in offline mode move some emails into suitably named folders in Local Folders. These emails will be kept on your computer and not the server.
Remember any emails only stored on your computer will need to be backed up.

  • IMap / Pop3 mail account

    Hi everybody …
I normally use Pop3 as my mail account settings but now I am working on more then one machine (actually 3 machines) and therefore I would very much like to change my settings/system so that I would read/write all my e-mail without doing the job with moving mails from the inbox to my folders twice.
What will happen with my mail when I change my settings of my account from being a pop3 account to a Imap account?
What is the downside for an Imap account vs. a Pop 3 account?
    Best
    Lars Kudsk

What will happen with my mail when I change
my settings of my account from being a pop3 account
    to a Imap account?
Have you confirmed this email account supports POP or IMAP?
If so and assuming you are using the Mail.app on all 3 Macs, the only way to change the account type with the Mail.app is by deleting and re-creating the account selecting IMAP as the account type when re-creating the account.
This will delete all account mailboxes but will not affect any messages that remain on the server in the account's Inbox mailbox on the server.
Before deleting the account in Mail, you have two options deselecting include when automatically checking for new mail under the Advanced tab for the account preferences.
    1. Create "On My Mac" location mailboxes - one for the account's Inbox mailbox and one for the account's Sent mailbox. Transfer all messages from the account's Inbox mailbox and Sent mailbox to the appropriate user created "On My Mac" location mailbox and then delete and re-create the account.
Or 2. Quit the Mail.app first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account).
Copy the account named folder and place the copy on the Desktop.
Launch Mail and delete and re-create the account. Use the Import Mailbox feature importing selected mailboxes from within the copy of the account named folder placed on the Desktop.
With an IMAP type account, messages in the account's Inbox mailbox in Mail are stored on the server and kept synchronized on the server by default. You can also store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server which is available under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences. The settings under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences must be identical with the Mail.app on each Mac.
All server stored mailboxes will be kept synchronized with the server with the Mail.app on each Mac.
What is the downside for an Imap account
    vs. a Pop 3 account?
Really none but keep in mind when a message is transferred from a server stored mailbox to a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox (which is stored locally on the hard drive), this process stores the transferred message locally on the hard drive and removes the message from the server at the same time so any such transferred message with the Mail.app on any Mac will no longer be available with the Mail.app on other Macs.
Another benefit of an IMAP type account is creating a server stored mailbox to store selected messages as needed and when doing so, the created server stored mailbox will be available with the Mail.app on all Macs.

  • Could someone PLEASE tell me how to set up more than one POP mail account.

I am soooo frustrated. Before I upgraded to Tiger I had no problems setting up my mail accounts. Now, I can only set up one POP mail account. I have three mail accounts that I desperately need to set up from the same ISP server, all POP accounts. On Panther and earlier, all I had to do was add the accounts. Now I have ONE POP account and when I try to set up another I get an error message that I already have a POP account set up. Why is this happening and what happened to the old system that worked just fine. I am so annoyed with this. It simply defies logic!!!!

I don't know if this will work or not, but why don't you try using bogus pop and/or smtp server information when you initially establish the accounts with Mail's setup wizard? Just continue through the "warning: cannot validate server" messages that the wizard will give you. Then go into Mail > preferences > accounts and highlight each of the new accounts, one at a time, and try changing the incoming pop and outgoing smtp mail server information to what it is supposed to be?
For the "Outgoing" server just use the pull-down menu, to select it, and when all accounts are done, go into that same pull-down menu and choose "Edit Server List..." to remove the bogus smtp server information.
Incoming should be just renaming that pop server in the "Incoming server" field.
If that doesn't work, I've got something riskier you could try, again with no guarantees, and that is editing your ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file using either the Property List Editor that comes with XCode Tools (will launch automagically when you click on that .plist file if XCode is installed) or with the pico editor in Terminal, and possibly renaming some folders in your ~/Library/Mail folder, too. Again, start with the bogus server info, then find those entries in the .plist file and make changes there.
Note: if not familiar with the notation, "~" means your "home" directory.
