How to masking like this?

as you can see at the picture, whenever the arrow move at the object, we can see what is inside . how to do like that? please help. iam sorry if this is in a wrong section.

on mouseover, move a mask to the 'inside' object that you want to reveal.
eg, over bigbird is redshirted person image that is masked by a displayobject that is not over the redshirted person until there's a mouseover.  on mouseout, move the mask off the redshirted person.

    Frankly, I don't understand your problem description or your VI.
    In the description, the output array has a fixed size of 8 elements, is this correct? In this case you should initialize an array of 8 elements and do all operations "in place". I don't udnerstand the purpose of all the other code.
    There are a lof of things that don't make any sense at all.
    The second largest loop has no purpose, because it iterates only once per call
    Sometimes you are concatenating an empty array to an existing array. This makes no difference.
    Why is some of your data EXT representation???
    What's up with complicated constructs such as that small loop shown in the picture. I show a somewhat simpler alternative.
    Anyway, I have a hard time understanding your description. What should happen at the end? Do you have a link to a website that describes the algorithm? Does the algorithm have a name?

    im trying to liquify a Times New Roman font like this (vhs fx)
    the yellow, blue is just a layer copy i know.
    so i need to pull the upper part .
    anyone an idea how to do it like this :

    1 ) Take a greyscale images of a water ripple/ create a ripple effect
    3 ) Save it as displace.psd
    4 ) Open the text/image you want to apple the effect and hit filters->displace
    5 ) Load up the displace.psd and offset by so many px (have a play)
    6) That'll get that ripple effect, you then need to spit the image into RGB and offset the layers a little to get that red/blue effect in the middle
    Edit: Just noticed this was for illustrator- the above it for photoshop obviously, if you needed to do this in illustrator, then either do the adobe and trace it or use the warp symbol tool

    I am trying to figure out the best way to approach drawings like this? I have tried the scribble tool, but I cannot get the color changes within the scribble. Also, the text looks hand drawn and it has white around it. I would like to make drawings like this that appear to be hand drawn and filled in, all by hand. Does anyone have any sugesstions?

    Not exactly the same, a painting program or Photoshop with a mixer brush can make the same effect, but in Illustrator you can try the bristle brushes. I just grabbed one of the default bristle brushes painted with a few colors and transparency and at the end added a texturizing effect.

  • MASK PRO - Why can't Adobe add masking like this ! - wow !

    This week, I saw a guy working on a project using a product by OnOneSoftware.com called "Mask Pro"
    He was extracting a woman from a very busy background. He effortlessly removed the woman, including strands of her hair in under a minute.
    I wonder why Adobe cannot implement something so powerful in Photoshop ?
    I am actually amazed at how well this program worked, I'm not sure if it is a plugin or stand-alone program, but it worked side-by-side with Photoshop.
    This Mask Pro works by quickly picking colors that you want eliminate and ones you wish to keep. Each time you click on a color you wish to keep, it loads them onto a little column and you see the colors appear. Then you choose ones you wish to eliminate. These appear on another column. Amazing how this works !
    You then take the special paintbrush tool, and just run over any area, such as the hair, and magically, it removed ALL background but leaves even the smallest strands of hair intact ! - It is truly wonderful to see.
    I'm sure Adobe knows about this product, so I wonder why they cannot make something similar, or just buy the company out and implement their product in Photoshop. You have to see this tool in use to actually believe it.

    worth more

    for me the choice to farm out that un-creative task depends on the job,

    color balance, light, filters, adding creative techniques, fixing what I

    benefits to both and choice dictated by the assignment
    after all once we didn't have to sit and process all our own images they
    went to an E6 lab
    and we paid them to do it
    so many things we did manually can now be done by a computer program such as
    replacing part of the background with parts from another frame
    adding softer depth of field by a plug in
    skin smoothing etc
    even windows live has stitching (even a little kid can do it as the
    commercial shows)
    resisitance is futile

    You can try the retoucher's forum at Model Mayhem, they love to analyze post processing techniques.  But registering an account at MM takes more than an email, you have to have some of you own work, with models, to create an account.  But your work can be anything - modeling, photography, retouching, makeup.  Just make sure you either own the artwork or have permission to post it.
    That said, often what makes photographers stick out from the rest is their style.  People spend a lot of time developing their style, in post production as well as behind the lens.  It's unlikely you're going to mimic someone's style with a few presets or a quick tweak of a slider or two.  And probably more unlikely that the photographer will tell you their recipe.

    I may be missing something but it seems that your friend doesn't need an xorg.conf at all (if that xorg.conf works for him). In fact, until the recent Xorg upgrade, my desktop didn't need an xorg.conf either. What, exactly, is the cause of your bewilderment?

    To make the top menu item move left when the cursor overs above it tou could do something like:

    • create a fairly good mask of the skin areas and use that as a Layer Mask for a Layer Group
    • create Adjustment Layers, Solid Color Layers, plain Layers with appropriate Blend Modes, … and paint in artificial shadows

    I don't know how to describe it (sorry, english is not my first language), but I like the way the color on the skin affects only certain tones. I hope you understand what I'm talking about :) I tried to play with layer blending (BW + color balance of shadows)... but I never manage to do something like this. I suppose it has to be a common technique, sice I see it on so may posters and photos. Does anybody have some advice? Thanks!

    The links you posted seem to suggest the effect you are after may be the result of luminance masking, perhaps coupled with a knockout layer to protect the eyes. Try this procedure:
    (a) Duplicate the background layer CTRL + J (and perhaps rename it Blur as that helps to emphasise the purpose of the new layer).
    (b) With the new Blur layer active, from the Menu bar choose Filter/Blur/Gaussian blur about 20% for starters each image may require slight variations to this amount.
    (c) Turn off the visibility of the new Blur layer and select/make active the Background layer.
    (d) Go to Channels Palette and CTRL click on the Red channel. Return to the Layers Palette. Turn visibility of new Blur layer back on and select it.
    (e) With the new Blur layer active, click the Add layer mask button at the bottom of the Layers Palette this adds the Luminosity Mask to this layer and results in seeing the Gaussian blur now only inside the lightest (50%) details of the image. Now change the Blend Mode of this layer from Normal to Overlay. If the effect seems too strong, try the Soft Light blend mode which is less severe. If you want a greater effect than Overlay delivers, try Linear Light. You can back off the effect of any of these blend modes with the Opacity slider but that would, I think, also back off the amount of Blur, which may or may not (depending upon the image) lessen the overall effect you are aiming for.
    (f) Next comes the Knockout Layer (KL) to remove the effect of these Blur and Blend Mode edits from the eyes. The KL must be on top of the Blur layer, so make the Blur layer active and then add a new transparent layer above it - CTRL + Shift + N and name it Knockout.
    (g) On the new KL, select the eyes with the Elliptical Marquee Tool (select too much rather than too little reason follows later) and fill the selection with Black ALT + Backspace (provided Foreground Colour in Tools Palette is Black). Then deselect the eyes CTRL + D.
    (h) Bring up the Layer Style dialog box (LSDB) by double clicking on the icon for the KL. In the LSDB change Knockout from None to Shallow and reduce Fill Opacity from 100 to zero % and click OK which dismisses the LSDB. That is it you have now eliminated the effects of the Blur layer on the eyes using the Black holes on the KL.
    (i) To remove any excess eye selection, you use the Eraser tool (set to about 50% hardness) and paint around the edges of the eyes with the Eraser tool what this is doing is reducing the size of the holes in the KL and bringing back the effects of the edits from the Blur layer.

    I thought you said you knew how to make animated gif.  A frame is the composite of the layers that have their visibility on for the frame a frame may be made using many layers. You use tools and filters on layers.You make frame using layers.
    Photoshop also supports any size layer. Layers can be  larger the canvas size can have image data out side the canvas.  Layer image data position above can be move relative to the canvas.  The Cloud logo animation has two layer one is masked is masked the mask is not linked to the layers image data it stationary over the canvas and is more on less a masks more foe the background canvas then the layer its on. The layer it is on image data is more off canvas then over canvas. Photoshop also notes layer position in a frame information, A layer potion can be change from frame to frame. I only create two frame for that animation.  The first and last frame, The first frame I had the top late image JJMACK high and off canvas to the left.  The last frame had it low and off canvas to the right. I then had Photoshop generate 138 frames between the two frames I created.  So Photoshop moved the top layer position across the canvas  left to right and high to low direction and the stationary layer mask masked it as if it were going through the background layers clouds.  The two layers are visible in all frames.

    capability of the new programmer. Patience and a drive to learn is
    what all is needed. Accomplishing one step at a time is probably
    the best approach, whether you're new or well-versed.

    i had one for a long time, then when i got the ipad i didn't realize they would all still work under one so i set up the second one on that
    then when i got the new iphone i put in the info for the first and main one from my mac pro and it would not work at all, and i knew it was right, then it asked me to create a new one or i couldnt finish the setup

    hard to believe you cannot combine into one
