How to mass relink photos?

Hi there,
yesterday my muse disk become unusable disk X:\  (of course I had a backup)
I have restored the muse file (photo gallery with 400 photos) that was in the lost disk folder x:\musefolder.
The new disk has a permanent name D:\ so I restored the file in d:\musefolder
In the assets panel all the photos are now missing files because muse trying to locate them inthe old folder.
How can I massivly relink the photos in the new folder.(something like Indesign relink to folder)
I hope I want have to go one by one ...
Anthony

Dear Parikshit,  thank you so much for your reply
here is how photos are...
  folder photos
              subfolderA
                           photo01
                           photo02
                           photo03
              subfolderB
                           photo01
                           photo02
                           photo03
etc...
In Indesign I could select photos inside a folder because there is a path column. This is not available in Muse!!! Any suggestions?
Cheers

  • How do I get Photos - iPhotos to work with my iPhone

I have a 2 month old Mac Mini, and noticed a system upgrade available 10.10.3 - I always download all that are offered.  10.10.3 loaded, and I proceeded to open iTunes and iPhoto and plug in my iPhone, All went well until I noticed PHOTOS  I opened it to see what it was and was asked to selected a library as it seemed the only option on offer I did and found a mass of over 3500 photos  in folders that I did not totally recognise, including one of Face photos. It was only then that I noticed a NO ENTRY SIGN on iPhotos.  Thanks to some Mac Forum advice I have now been able to install a new iPhotos 9.6.1 to replace this but I now have a big problem that I cannot edit the photos on my iPad or iPhone.
    I have 10.10.3 installed with iPhoto-9.6.1 - PHOTOS-1 - iTunes-12.1.2.27 & iOS-8.3 on the iPhone & iPad.
I Plug the iPhone into the Mac, iTunes can see it, click the camera icon I see a list of 30+ folders - 2 are ticked which are MC, it has 19 photos in it and PP, it has 1 photo in it - which is correct for the iPhone.
In PHOTOS when I plug in the iPhone, a new command appears in the top bar  ‘IMPORT’  click on that and the iPhone icon shows on the left side with a box to tick - ‘open this device’ - click it and the message is ‘NO PHOTOS’. Under Albums I find the same 30+ listed with MC containing 50 photos & PP with 33.
In iPhoto I plug in the iPhone & it is recognised with a  message on the right , LOADING… and there it stays STUCK but not crashed. Down the left side is listed the same 30+ albums, MC with 50 photos & PP with 33.
Question - how do I get Photos/iPhoto/iTunes/to communicate with my iPhone/iPad, to update the photo albums as they did before 10.10.3 & Photos were introduced to my system????    Your help please

    Thanks for your help III
BUT: I really don't get it! About ten days ago or so my iPhone 4s was suddenly able to hold on to the AirPort Express network.
But then yesterday all of a sudden the problem was back again!!! I didn't do ANYTHING! It was just back out of nowhere!
Wi-Fi connection on my iPhone came on... and off... and on... and so on, while my MacBook was working perfectly fine with the network!
So I reset the whole thing again on my MacBook with the AirPort utility, I reset the AirPort Express and I reset my iPhone... still not working... Honestly this freaks me out. Especially because it worked for more than a week and as I said I did not change a thing!!!
Does anyone have any ideas how to solve the problem other then reset everything? Or is there an explanation around for this occurence???
    Thanks for your Help!

  • I have an old project with AVCHD clips and I want to import the clips again with surround sound. How can I relink the project clips to the re-imported ones without doing the project from the begining?

I have an old project with AVCHD clips and I want to import the clips again with surround sound. How can I relink the project clips to the re-imported ones without doing the project from the begining?
I have a sony handicam and I imported the clips to iMovie and they lost quality and converted the audio to stereo. I want to import the project to final cut X and import the AVCHD in 1080p and surround sound and export the movie in bluray. Can I relink the clips without editing everything again?
    thanks!

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

  • I need to free up space on my hard drive. How do you move photo's to my external?

I need to free up space on my hard drive in order to complete a new update.  How do I move photo's from my macbook air to my external hard drive?

You need to backup your Iphoto library to Time Machine first (if you havent already done so)
THEN you need to copy your Iphoto library to another HD before deleting from your Macbook ,....because 1 copy only is = NO COPY in case of HD failure!
To move an iPhoto liobrary -
quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto   from LarryHN
As to your AIr and its SSD =
You need to change the premise of your SSD use.
    see here:
Your Solid State Drive and having enough space inside your Macbook Air & Pro
Solid State Drive usage premise, or the “more space / upgrade SSD” question
There have been questions posed and positions taken by many people who are trying to use their Macbook Air or Pro’s solid state drive (SSD) as a mass media storage device, for either pictures, videos, massive music collections or all three combined; but this should not be the working premise of a ‘limited’ SSD and its use.
In which, it’s the case of those users with either 128GB, 256GB, or even 512GB of internal SSD space, that have or are running “out of space”, that questions are raised. The immediate premise of some users can sometimes be “(how to / if) upgrading my SSD” when in fact in nearly all instances another approach is the logical and sensible one that needs to be looked into and exercised.
Any Macbook containing a SSD should be idealized as a ‘working platform’ notebook containing all your applications, documents, and weekly or bi-weekly necessary files. All collections of media files such as pictures, music, and videos, unless directly needed should be kept off the notebook and on an external hard drive or likewise. While the ‘working platform’ premise is also the case with larger internal conventional hard drives of 1TB+, its implementation isn't as critical except in terms of data protection.
Realistically, you should at most coordinate roughly 20 to 25% of your total SSD space to all audio-video personal use media (picture / music / video collections), leaving the remaining amount on an external HD.
Nobody should consider any notebook a data storage device at any time under any circumstance, rather a data creation, sending, and manipulation device; and in the case of a SSD, this is more important for purposes of having sufficient working space on the SSD and reducing SSD ‘bloat’ in which cases someone is wrongly attempting to use the SSD space as a large media storage nexus.
The rare exception to the collective usage and premise of SSD use in which a much larger SSD is truly needed are for those in video and photography professions that require both the extremely fast speeds of the SSD and the onboard storage for large and or many video and photography files. However this also falls under the premise of a ‘working platform’ for such peoples rather than the intent of many who are using the SSD as passive and static data storage for media files very infrequently needed or accessed.
All on-notebook data collections should be logically approached as to necessity, and evaluated as to whether it is active or passive data that likely doesn’t need to be on the notebook, allocations of space-percentages to as-needed work and use, apportioning space for your entertainment media, and questioning whether it should it be on the notebook for more than short-term consumption.
Considerations should be made in the mind of any user in differentiating the necessary system data (System hub) comprising the Mac OSX, applications, necessary documents that both must and should be on your internal SSD, and that of the users personal data (Data hub) comprising created files, pictures, music, videos, PDF files, data created or being created and otherwise, that likely unless being used soon or often should be parked on an external hard drive for consumption, or temporarily loading onto the internal SSD.
You both can and should purchase whichever SSD size you need or see fit, but even in the case of the largest of SSD, unless use-considerations are made, and SSD spaces are allocated as should be the case indicated above, one can easily and immediately run into this quandary of “needing more internal SSD space”, in which instance a different approach in usage must then be implemented.
However it is almost always the case, that such large media files are wanted to be stored internally rather than actually needed, in which case the external HD is both prudent as well as necessary. Additionally costs per MB are infinitely less on an external HD than an internal SSD in any consideration of data expansion needs.
    A Professional Example
In the case of a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro Retina with ‘limited’ storage on the SSD, this distinction becomes more important in that in an ever rapidly increasing file-size world, you keep vital large media files, pics, video, PDF collections, music off your SSD and archived on external storage, for sake of the necessary room for your system to have free space to operate, store future applications and general workspace.
You should also never be put in the position of considering “deleting things” on your Macbook SSD in order to ‘make space’. This is especially what your external HD is for.
Professionals who create and import very large amounts of data have almost no change in the available space on their notebooks internal SSD because they are constantly archiving data to arrays of external or networked HD.
Or in the case of the consumer this means you keep folders for large imported or created data and you ritually offload and archive this data for safekeeping, not only to safeguard the data in case your Macbook has a SSD crash, or gets stolen, but importantly in keeping the ‘breathing room’ open for your notebook to operate, expand, create files, add applications, for your APPS to create temp files, and for general operation.
Slim USB3 1TB external hard drive
    External Hard Drives
External hard drives are both extremely cheap and regardless of the size of your internal SSD (or even internal hard drive if the case), you need an external hard drive with your SSD equipped Macbook for several reasons:
    1. Data backup and protection.
    2. Redundancy for important data.
    3. Necessitated ideal space for large media files for collections of pictures, videos, and music etc.
While ever changing in price, typical portable 2.5” external hard drives in USB3 run roughly $65 for 1TB or $120 for 2TB small portable USB3 hard drives. Such drives range in thickness between 5mm and 15mm, with recent improvements in storage of 500GB drives in 5mm profiles.
There is almost no premise in which a small 12mm thick 1 Terabyte USB hard drive cannot be taken along with any Macbook as an external large storage extension inside any Macbook carry case or pouch. Typically such external HD profiles are not much bigger than a deck of cards.
External hard drives are a foregone necessity for purchase with any Macbook for at the very least Time Machine backups, data redundancies, and ideally for large media storage.

  • How to retrieve lost photos that were accidentally...

Title says it all. I accidenttally deleted all my photos from my lumia 900 wp7.8. No skydrive back up.
The world is full of software that can dig out lost or deleted data as long as nothing is written over them. Nokia must have this also.
So how to save my photos?
    bye / Tumppi

There must be a way to make this phone show up as mass storage drive so I could use photo recovery softwares for rescuying my photos. It would be ridiculous not to be able to do this. But they say at Nokia care that there is no way to do this. This is unacceptable.
    So any ideas are welcomed.

Are your photos in iPhoto or are they stored in folder on your iMac?
Firstly, the two Macs need to be connected, either via ethernet or wirelessly, on the same network.
The same can be achieved by copying the photos from your iMac to an external hard drive and then to your MBP.
You can copy the entire iPhoto library over to your MacBook Pro and replace the existing iPhoto library in the Pictures folder. (Do you have photos in the iPhoto Library on your MBP?)
It is also possible to have more than one iPhoto Library, by giving the library on the iMac a new name, and then copying it over.

  • TS4425 How can I remove Photo Stream pics from my Apple TV slideshow?

I am a decorator and take photos of furniture, fabrics, etc on my phone daily, but I do not want these photos cycled in the slideshow on my Apple TV.  I have iTunes pulling photos from designated folders on my home computer, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove my iPhone photo stream pictures.  Suggestions?

    Hi lpetershagen,
Here is an article of information on ways to delete photos from Photo Stream:

  • How can I transfer photos from ipad 1 to pc

    I have an ipad 1 - ios 5.1.1
I want to transfer the photos on the ipad to a windows 8 pc.
Should be a really simple operation - yes? wrong.
After visiting 30+ webpages, downloading various 3rd party software (and deleting them again) - I am still unable to transfer photos from my ipad to a windows pc.
I connect the ipad 1 to a pc using cable.
    PC shows ipad.
Then you get the option to import photos (Which 20+ websites just repeat).
Contained in the DCIM Folder is 2 thumbnail photos. Yes - just 2. Two.
Stored on the ipad is nearly 3,000 photo's. NOT 2!
So how do you move photos from an ipad to PC?
    Next problem.
Someone recommended using Syncios - wonderful.
    All photos found.
All photos copied - except they are copied as thumbnails.
It would seem that ipad stores your photos as a thumbnail - but when you email the photo the true size is sent. (Thumbnail is 11kb - when I attach the same photo to an email it shows it as 1.1mb)
So - apart from creating and sending 3000 emails - so that I can transfer photos at their original resolution - HOW DO YOU TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM IPAD 1 TO A PC.
Apple really couldn't have made a 30second operation more difficult - or deliberately impossible.
There is NO option to do this via iTunes.
I can transfer photos from a PC to iPad using iTunes - but not the other way around.
So - please - does anyone have a degree in astro-physics that can explain how a person is supposed to transfer full sized photos, that are stored as thumbnails - from an iPAD 1 to a Win 8 pc?
ps... and yes I am irritated. This has taken me 2 days so far, and still unable.
pps... and no, I really don't need people posting - oh yes I have the same problem... I need answers.

HHow did the photos get on your iPad? since the original iPad does not have a camera, the photos were either received in emails, copied from the web or synced from your computer. If they were copied from emails or the web they should be available to copy off the iPad using whatever Camera or image capture application you have on your computer. Connect your iPad, start the application and transfer the photos.
if the photos were synced from your computer, they should still be on the computer used to sync from.

  • I have a 3g iphone and I need to know how to delete old photos from my phone!! I need the space but there is no way to delete the pictures!! Help!!!

I have a 3g iPhone and I need to know how to delete old photos. Need to free up space and there is no clear way to delete these photos!! Can someone please let me know how to get rid of these pictures!!!! Help!!!

There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll.  One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom.  Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

  • How can I export photos from my iPad or iPod to my main computer or hard drive. My old computer died and I want to get my photos onto my new computer. Thanks in advance.

HOw can I export photos from my iPad or iPod to my main computer? My old computer died with my photos on it but I want to move my photo library from my iPad or iPod to the computer I just bought. Thanks for any help you can give.

Sorry but your iPhoto library is not on an iPad or iPod - you may have photos there (most likely low resolution copies) but not an iPhoto library - dying computers (along with software and human errors) are why you always must have a backup - now is the time to load it

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. I'm not sure which of the recovery tools can do photos offhand, but unless you chose the option to include full res. originals when you loaded the device then what they extract will be fairly low res. If you did opt for full res. then they should be visible on the iPod's drive when viewed in disk mode.
