How to merge albums in i photo

How do I combine/merge albums in iphoto?  I have numberous albums with the same title but can't combine them

I think that I have smart albums
Smart albums look like this: They have a "gears" symbol in the icon:
Regular albums will show a stack of pictures in the icon:
If you want to create a regular album, that you can drag your photos to, select some photos that you want in the album and use the command "File >  New Album".

  • How to merge albums in OS X Photos app

I imported my iPhoto library to the new Photos app. I see all my events (now called "albums") from iPhoto, but I'm no longer able to drag and drop one album into another. Is this no longer possible?
I understand I can create folders and drop multiple albums into there, but with how I organize my library, I'd prefer to just combine albums. It's how I did it in iPhoto and with how many photos I have stored in my library, It would take me weeks to reorganize them all.

Although you cannot "merge" albums like you used to be able to in iPhoto, you can Add Photos to another album. Just select the photos you would like moved to another folder and than choose the plus sign in the top right corner > album > change 'New Album' to 'The Events' and locate your previous album name that you would like the photos to be moved too > OK.
Now this will duplicate the album, so make sure to delete the original folder that is now out of place.

  • Merging Albums in Cloud Photo

    Hey all,
Thanks for your help in advance, Im gueesing this is really simple but I just cannot figure it out.
I have importing all of my photos / events from iPhoto to the new Photo app, it has all gone well and had no issues.
I want to merge albums like i used to do previously in iPhoto by dragging one into another but this does not work in this app, and I cannot figure out how to do it.
Also what is the new folders feature?
    Stelios

Almost like in iPhoto:  open Album A and select all of the photos.  Drag the photo onto the Album B icon. Once you've confirmed that the A photos are in the B album you can delete the A album if so desired.

  • How to create Album in iCloud Photos on Mac?

Anyone know how to create an album in iCloud photos on the Mac?  It has a section for "My Albums" but I have no clue how to create one.  I want to put all photos into named albums instead of just moments.  I see how to do it on iPhone but it doesn't sync to the iCloud on Mac to look the same.  Let me know what I am missing or not seeing here.  Thanks

You cannot yet create albums in the iCloud Photos.app, only in the Photos.app on your mobile iOS 8 devices, or in the Photos.app for Mac that has yet to be released.

  • How to choose album for ios6 photo sharing facebook

When I want to share a photo directly from my photostream to facebook I have a limited number of albums to choose from and cant seem to add another album.
Can you add an album to facebook and how do you then choose that album when uploading?

I've found this too.  Do your albums in Facebook have "custom" audience settings?  My albums that are shared to custom audiences (eg, 'Close Friends, Family') don't show up.  Albums that are set to simple audiences (eg, just 'Friends' or 'Myself') do show up.
Back to the Facebook Camera app until Apple fix this

  • How to merge several rocket launch photos to make one photo?

I took several pictures, seven to be exact of a rocket launch at night, thinking that one long exposure might make some sections of the photo too bright.  The beach is a little underexposed, but that is OK.  What I can't figure out is how to join them?  I thought I would use the first one as the base and basically merge the others after I take out all of the content except the rocket plume/flare, but when I try this, it puts the rocket plume in the middle of the layer and I would have to manually align the rocket trail, but can't seem to do it very easily.  I'm only trying to cut and paste, and obvious newbie to elements.  I have just upgraded to 12 but still have 9 on my machine if one is any better than the other for doing this type of thing.
Any step by step instruction or pointing me to a youtube video that does a similar thing would be much appreciated!

This link was posted a few days ago. I think you'll find it helpful as it gives some good instructions on using opacity, rotate and nudge to help you get the images aligned.

  • How to get albums off iPad photos

Since I upgraded my iPad, I have photo albums on it that I do not want there [for example, "Faces from My Mac"]. I didn't put them on it when I synched, and they weren't there until after I upgraded. I would just like to delete them from this one device, not my Mac.

I have been wanting to add captions below photos on my iPad. I discovered an App called Photo Name which does this. It is free, but to make the captions large enough for my needs, I opted for the paid version ($2.99).
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I merge albums in Photos 1.0?

My iMac has OS X Yosemite (10.10.3).  How do I merge albums in new Photos 1.0?  I've tried highlighting and dragging one on top of the other, but it doesn't work.

  • How to merge photos in Photos

I want to know how to merge photos into events.  I want to know how to create events.

I asked same on another thread but now can't find it.  Was advised to Move/Drag all photos from one Album into another, and then delete the source album.
Well, that is OK, not easy, if merging two. But I use to merge multiple events into new albums, with Merge/ Command + Clicks and that simple function may be gone. I too want to know if the Merge function is still hiding somewhere.  Putting Merge in Photo Help came up empty.

  • When creating a book how can I get all the photos from an album to show up in the order they were in the album?

When creating a book in iphoto, how can I get all the photos from the album I want to use to show up in the order that they are in the album?  When I tried to use the option to add my own photos instead of having the program "flow" them, they showed up all mixed up.

iPhoto puts them in the book in chronological order.  So to get your photos from an album into an iPhoto book in the same order you will need to use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option and set them all to the same date with a 1 minute time difference between each.

  • Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.

Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.
Is there any way to re-number them in the order I have chosen so that they can then be sorted by number? The scans are all from pre-digital images that I wish to move to a photobook and I don't want to have to organise them twice!
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I was a bit short, Chris, sorry. It is limited, what can be posted, when typing on an iPad.
Now I am back on my Mac. I meant the following:  Batch Change the date for a large range of photos, that should have a date stepped in increments.
Select all Photos at once and use the command "Photos > Batch Change".
Then set the date for the first photo and select an increment, e.g. one minute.
Now all photos will get a new date assigned, incremented by one minute, in the sequence you have selected. So you will be able to sort them by date.  This way it will be unnecessary to change the titles or filenames.

  • How do I get photos in a specific iPhoto Album into my Photo Stream?

How do I get photos in a specific iPhoto album into My Photo Stream so that I can use my Apple TV to show them in a slideshow on my TV?

That is not possible - PhotoStream has no organizational capability - no albums or other organization
With the correct software versions You can import from PS into an iPhoto event on your Mac either automatically (by setting the iPhoto preference to do that) or manually and then you can add the photos ot an iPhoto album and sync to Apple TV
what version of iPhoto do you have? Is OS X 10.7.5 correct for your OS?

  • How do I make a private album in new Photos for IMac?

How do I make a private album in the new Photos for IMac? I had one in iPhoto, and now that all the photos migrated to Photos my private album is not hidden anymore. Thanks for help!

Photos does not hide photos in albums at all.  Photos can only be hidden from Moments, Collections, Years.
If you want private albums, move the photos in questions to a different Photos Library, that you keep hidden.

  • How do I change the cover photo of an album in the Photos App?

    Hi,
in iPhoto you can change the cover art of an album or journal (but apparently not of a shared photo stream?!).
But how do I change the cover photo of a shared photo stream I created in the iOS 6 Photos app? It seems to be the first photo in that stream but I want to use another photo as the cover / key photo of that shared stream. Is it possible at all?
    Thanks,
    Stefan.

Which iPhoto are you referring to?  iPhoto on your mobile device or iPhoto on your Mac?  If on your Mac you'll need to change the date of the photos in the Event via the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option:
This will change the date of all selected photos in the Event and thus change the date range of the Event.
Or you can use the Photos ➙ Adjust Date & Time menu option and change just one or two photos which can also change the date range of the Event.
