How to merge multipal saplogon.ini files..

How can I merge the multiple saplogon.ini files if system is on Domain?

We are merging two SAP Logon.ini file. The common file I placed in c:windows and the users own entries are in saplogon.ini in the %appdata%commonSAP directory. And by using note 1426178 pkt. 5, we set ConfigFileOnServer to c:
Now the user can create own entries in own saplogon.ini, and not change entries in the common saplogon.in I c:windows.
If you update the common file, you just have to replace the file in c:windows.

  • Saplogon.ini file location question

    Hi, any advice would be appreciated thanks
    we have rolled the sap gui 6.40 to all our clients - all using a local copy of the saplogon.ini file in the local windows directory. however we wish to change this approach and have a central saplogon.ini file on a file server and point all the clients to this file.. any changes only then have to be made in one place.
    can anyone help me with this, firstly is it possible, and if so how to change the client setting to adjust the location.
    many thanks.

    Hi thanks for your link.
    The document you pointed me towards led me to SAP note number 756686
    which explains that you can edit the SAP icon on your desktop (by right-clicking and opening with notepad) and then adding a line cmd="/ini_file='path to ini file'\saplogon.ini'
    Thanks for your assistance.

    Dear all,
    I'm looking for a possibility to use different ini files, dependent from the access via network (lan) or VPN.
    The local saplogon.ini file should only be used if the saplogon.ini file from the network directory is not available. Maybe with SAPLOGON.SAL?

  • C:windows\saplogon.ini file error

    Hi Experts,
    I have SAPGUI 7.10 systems and whenever I add new SAP Server in SAP Logon Pad, a corresponding entry is created in C:\WINDOWS\SAPLOGON.INI file.
    But in some system, part of file content is as below:
    Server
    Item1=
    Item2=XXXXX
    Item3=YYYYY
    Item4=AAAAA
    Item5=BBBBB
    where in xxx, yyyy,aaa,bbb are the application server IP.
    But here Item1= <space> as shown.
    For other user systems, item1 corresponds for first entry of logon pad as expected.
    Server
    Item1=XXXXX
    Item2=YYYY
    Item3=AAAA
    Item4=BBBBB
    And I am getting an error if I try at system with item1=<space>.
    Can you tell why this space is inserted on some system and not on others?
    Thanks
    Depesh.

    Hi,
    I am using sapgui 7.10 with patch level 14.
    There is a space shown in all the systems and this creating a problem while executing an SAP shortcut by saying no system description found as it tries to search for a description from saplogon.ini. even if it exists but with a space for item1.
    nobody has manually changed the saplogon.ini file.
    if i manually remove the space then add server list again or i copy the file with no space from somebody system then it works without error.
    But i cannot copy and replace this file if i have 1000+ user working on a solution having their saplogon.ini file with item1=space.
    Kindly suggest some automated process to ensure the space removal.
    thanks

    Hi,
    did you search for SAPLOGON.INI?
    Do you have a local or a server-installation of SAPGUI?
    Regards, Dieter
    Another way i to look in LOGON-Pad in OPTIONS. There you can see what saplogon.ini is used.

  • How to edit the setup.ini file of the Adobe Reader X MUI?

    Hi everyone.
    I discovered today that is is possible to edit the setup.ini file of the Adobe Reader X MUI  10.1  installer (multilingual)  in order to customize the installation. I stil have some questions about this.
    1. I would like to make a custom installation of Reader X in german, english, french and spanish. Is this possible? I want to leave out all other languages from my installation..,.
    2.  I would like to edit the ini file to make an automatic update of my Reader, by installing all the patches (10.10, 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, 10.15 and 10.16). Is this possible?
    I patched my Reader manually, but when I install only the 10.15 and 10.16 updates, some functions are still missing (signature toolbar and add text function) so I suspect the patches are not-cumulative.
    Can anyone on the forums show me the right codes for doing this? How can I get a 4-language upgraded Reader X?
    Sincerely yours.
    K. Adam.

    See the docs: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html.
    The admin guide tells you what updates are cumulative (all 10.x quarterlies) and how to set the lang via the cmd line. However, check out the Wizard Guide and download the free Wizard to customize your install and .ini as needed. Much easier.

    Ben

  • How to create table from .ini file

    Hi,
    The file *.ini generates a Multicolumn Listbox where is indicated a number (variable) of tables with them characteristics (row and column) as in the picture below.
    I need to find the way to create automatically, on word file, the tables as indicated in the *.ini file. Do you think that it could be possible? That you know, exist a Macro to do this?
    Best regards

    As Taki said above, to do this you need to use the Report Generation Toolkit. This will allow you to generate tables in a word document. Look for the examples in the LabVIEW Help for a rough idea of how to use the toolkit and if you have any specific questions after that then feel free to post them here.

  • How do I hide Windows .ini files in a dock folder?

    Background: On my MacBook Pro, I divided my hard drive into 3 partitions - one for Mac OS X, one for Windows 7, and one for common storage that I use to transfer my files between OS's.
    With this setup, I set my Dropbox folder on the "common storage" partition, and created a Dropbox dock folder for easy access. This isn't really a major problem, but it simply annoys me. Since Windows also has access to the Dropbox folder, it creates a desktop.ini file that shows up whenever I use the Dropbox dock shortcut. I tried editing it through Finder, but it's already hidden. It only shows up in the dock folder.
    Is there a way to hide this .ini file?

    What do you mean deleted from the user's list?  Do you mean removed permissions?  If so, right click the folder and select get info.  Scroll down to sharing and permissions.  Click the lock and put in your password.  Then click the + and add the user back.
    Otherwise, more details...

  • How to merge two separate Muse files into one file?

    Have 220 pages built for a website, client wants to add another 180 pages. The Muse file is already slow to load and cumbersome to work with at 220 pages, it's going to be much worse at 400 pages. Is there a way to create two separate Muse files and then merge them prior to publish (or at publish, or post-publish). The only other solution I have is to build the second batch of pages in a separate file, then copy them into the main file one by one. Is there a batch copy/paste? Is there a merge?

    Hello,
    It's not possible to merge muse files as such. The pages have to either be created in the same file or they must be copied over individually later on from the other file to this file.
    Cheers

  • How to merge 2 TM backup files to a new TM drive?

    I have 2 MBPs with 2 external drives for TimeMachine backup. I bought a new 2T external drive recently and I want to merge the backup files on the 2 TM drives to the new big external drive. So I can use one external drive for 2 MBPs backup and free the old external drives. I have copied one TimeMachine backup files to the new external drvie. While I copied another TM backup files, It showed that the Backups.backupdb cannot be modified. What can I do?

    What is confusing to me, and perhaps others, is when you get the backups on the new drive, do you want to have two separate backups or one combined backup? Below is a screen shot of a hard drive with two separate backups on it. Is this what you are trying to do?

  • How to merge n  number of files in one file

    Please help me

    Open a new file and write chunks one by one...
    FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream("file");
    for(String chunk: chunks) {
      FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(chunk);
      // copy contents from in to out
    }This code is just an idea, it is better to use channels instead of streams, do not forget to close chunks after reading is complete etc. Is it helpful? :-)

  • Saplogon.ini in configurations files section of saplogonpad.

    Hello,
    We have SAP GUI 7.10 patch 19 installed. Our saplogon.ini file resides in the path c:\windows and is not explicitly set anywhere. An old PLM interface to Solidworks set the Windows USER environment variable to point to C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui by setting a value in SAPLOGON_INI_FILE, so nothing appears in the logonpad.
    If I remove this USER environment variable, the logonpad entries still appear blank. On further investigation, we see in the logonpad configuration screen (in the logonpad itself) a reference to a variable called saplogon.ini being set here in a section called configuration files.
    We have searched for this in the registry but cannot find it and therefore can't change it.
    Does anyone know how this gets set, where it is stored and how we can change it. Ideally we'd like to remove it completely, if possible.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

    Hello,
    I have solved this. The process also created a saplogoin.ini file in C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui which was blank. SAP GUI looks there before Windows.
    Thanks,
    Philip.
