How to migrate custom mappings ,workflok and DAC

Hi Experts,
we are moving to 7.9.6.1 to 7.9.6.2 for siebel Sales Applications. We do have custom mappings and workflow as well as we have some custom Dac objects. Can any one provide me the related documents

This has sections for INFA, Webcat, RPD.
For the custom mappings, if you followed the practice of having all ETL customizations in a custom Infromatica Folder, then these should be reuseable. There should not be too much impact as 7962 and 7962 is not a major upgrade. Refer to the release notes to see if your custom mappings will have any impact.
For DAC, again, based on the changes in 7962, you can reuse or add the necessary customizations. If I recall, there was not a lot of major DAC changes from 7961 to 7962.

Connect a blank powered external drive to the PC.
Right click on the Disk in the File manager and choose format: exFAT
(if it's a XP machine, first install exFAT from Microsoft and reboot)
navigate to your user account folders on the PC and drag and drop copy (or copy and paste) to the external drive.
(if a program has your files, then export them out first)
Hook up the drive to the Mac, and transfer files to the desktop or to their same appropritate folders.
Import photo's into iPhoto program, import music into iTunes etc and they will manage those files.
You can continue to use the external exFAT drive between Mac's and PC's
Do not format the drive NTFS or FAT, NTFS can't be written too by the Mac and FAT can't hold over 4GB sized files.
If you format exFAT on the Mac, it likely won't work correctly on the PC.
"Migration" type programs are a utter waste of time and effort between PC's and Mac's for the fact that only certain files (and no programs or anything else) will work between them, also it's a hassle and takes too long. So don't even bother with it.

How to migrate custom user attributes (UDF) from test environment to production when a sandbox is published

Hi all,
I like to migrate custom attributes from test environment to my production environment. I read OIM documentation and i tried to fallow these steps but I cannot export sandbox and import it because all sandboxes are published in the test environment.
I exported and imported users metadata by deployment manager only. Now, all migrated attributes are in the OIM DB but I do not see these attributes in Administration Console.
How can i solve this issue? Is it possible to export published sandbox and import it in the other environment?

In OIM 11g R2 you need to export sandbox before publishing sandbox for custom user fields from DEV or TEST environment.
Then import exported sandbox in the another environment.
If you didn't exported custom user fields sandbox from your TEST or DEV in that case you need to create those again in another environment manually. There is no other option for this in OIM 11g R2.

Hi,
The Business Integration Converter Mapping Designer (BIC MD) is a visual tool used for creating mappings, used by the BIC Adapter in the SAP XI server..
This tool comes with the Seeburger package, when u get the licence this tool will be present with that package..
once if u install, u should deploy the .SDA file which will be created by using BIC mapping designer..
BIC MD is a separate standalone tool, which creates Software Deployment Archives (SDA). SDA files are SAP J2EE libraries that can be deployed on the SAP XI Server using the Software Deployment Manager (SDM).
This SDA file contains what are all the mapping programs which are required for us.. and if we dont find any predefined mapping structure, in such cases we can custmize it.. according to our requirement..
and again we should redeploy SDA file to use it.

I am migrting my server from Oracle Internet Directory (OID) to Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS 8.1). I need to export the schema containing custom objectclass and attributes. I also need to migrate the entries. Can anyone tell me how can I do these exporting and importing task?
I also have orclaci attribute set for groups. Does RHDS support the attribute?

run dsc <program name> => Copy the output to a .txt file and in the end of this txt file after "END" insert a enter.
upload this file to physical location of a oracle directory(ensure that the user has access to this directory).
Now from olap worksheet run
infile <txt file name>;upd;commit;

We are in process of migrating Drop Ship Orders from 11.0.3 system to R12 system?
Can anyone help me in identifying how to migrate Drop Ship Orders?
Is it possible to migrate Drop Ship PO and SO Separately and then link them through Drop ship sources table? How the reservation will work for this type of orders?
Any guidelines will be really helpful.

What I am currently planning to do is as follows:
1) Migrate the Drop Ship SO
2) Run the workflow background process which will progress the line (From Booked -> Awaiting Receipt) and insert the record in to Requisitions Interface and OE_DROP_SHIP_SOURCES Table
3) Migrate the PO separately
4) Update the record created through second step in Drop Ship Sources table with PO Header ID, Line ID and Line Location ID
5) Receive against the PO
6) OM Line is getting shipped at this stage once the receiving is done
7) Delete the lines in Requisition interface table
In this, the only custom thing we are doing is updating the DROP SHIP SOURCES Table with PO IDs.
I am not able to think any other way to migrate Drop Ship SO.
Please suggest, if anyone is foreseeing any problem in this approach or having any other approach.

You have to install Oracle Forms server and Oracle reports server. Download the documentation about these products from Forms

How to migrate custom application from AK to MDS ?

I have got a custom application in Apps 11.5.8 where the data is stored in the AK_REGIONS table, etc. and the custmo application is registered in FND_APPLICATION table correctly. When applying the OAF 5.7 patch, the data is not migrated to MDS.
Answer:
This is because the OAF 5.7 patch does not migrate product data automatically. It is up to the development teams to do this.
With Custom applications, there is apparently no documented or supported mechanism to migrate this data from AK to MDS.
Solution:
OA Framework 5.7 (or OAF 5.10) can read the page definitions out of AK, so there is no pressing need to migrate the page definitions anyway. (See Metalink Note 216823.1 for example of this) When a page needs to be changed, the page will need to be changed via AK Developer as before, or manually recreated using JDeveloper which will then be using the MDS repository.

Do you mind telling me how you do it from the client ? All the libraries for the import utilities seem to be present in the application server. How (and what) to bring to the client where my jdeveloper resides ?

1. How do we do the deployment on multiple sites in ODI? what is the methdology or steps? R there any third party tools to do the same? what are they?
2. Is there any scripting language in ODI similar to OMB meta data scripting languate as in OWB which can be used to automate and speed up the multi site deployment?
3. What is the process of step to convert OWB mappings to ODI interfaces? Does oracle provides any tools or methodology to do the migration from OWB to ODI.?R there any third party tools to do the same? what are they?

How to migrate user mappings for datasources?

Is it possible to migrate / export user mapping data from EP6. I know I can add the information manually into the import file format. How do I get the information out of the EP6 system?

It is not a trivial thing to export passwords from OSX Server. There is an article on afp548.com that explains how to do it although as I remember I don't think it worked 100% all of the time. Besides by the time you have gone through the whole process, most of it using the command line, you may as well have simply defined a password policy forcing all users to change their password at next log-on.
The documents are correct. If you export users and re-import them, passwords are not transferred. If your Server is an Open Directory Master and you archive the LDAP database and then restore it (or in your case transfer it to another server) then passwords are retained. To go from 10.3 Server to 10.5 Server the 10.3 Server must be updated to the latest version for that version of the Server. In addition to this Leopard Server can only be configured in Advanced Mode. This is also true for 10.4. This is if you are upgrading an existing 10.3.9 Server to 10.5 Server. You can promote your 10.3.9 Server to Open Directory Master (on 10.3 you did not need DNS running to be able to do this although it is better if it is), and upgrade to 10.5. Or you can promote to OD Master, archive the LDAP database, demote back to Standalone, backup all relevant data and clean install to Leopard, configure required services and restore the LDAP database once Leopard is an OD Master. This may work. As a safety net I would always export users and groups from the local node anyway. You will have to do this in any case if you went to OD Master as you would have to remove users and groups from the local node and import them into the LDAP node.

We are considering upgrading from Project 2010 to 2013 and one of our users noticed there are no Custom Reports or canned reports available.
On her computer with Project 2010, when she selects Reports-Custom Reports, there are numerous canned reports available.
On the test computer, with Project 2013, when she views Custom Reports, it is empty.
How do we get the Custom Reports moved from her computer with Project 2010 to the test computer with Project 2013?

Thus I guess you are using the new reports feature in MS Project Pro 2013 (as per my 2nd screenshot)?
I would say that this feature aims at giving reports summarizing projects information in a global way, based on criterion specified by the user (cost, time period, tasks, resources..).
I don't know how to bypass this limitation (which doesn't mean that it is not possible).
But I'd advice as it says in the report tip to filter in order to emphasize on what makes sense for the user (incomplete tasks, overdue tasks, overallocated resources...) in order to use it like a dashboard more than like a detailed report.
If your objective is to provide detail reports (and if you're using project server), I'd suggest to use more advanced BI features such as Excel Services or SSRS.
