New vCenter not an Upgrade? so I am guessing you deployed a new one with new DB?
linked clones or full clones?
Linked clones you'd do a recompose having added the new vCenter into the servers via View Admin but the problem is that the ESX hosts will need to be moved to the new vCenter to do the recompose however this will mean you are unable to delete the existing ones and remove the replica which would have to be done manually.
if it is a manual pool then shouldn't be an issue once you have added the vC to View admin.
give us some more details about what you have already and what you want to achieve.

I just migrated into a new MBP from an old one.
It did not bring the music over. Apple's instructions are to use the Home Sharing feature of iTunes.
Open iTunes on your old Mac. Select Home Sharing under the Advanced menu. Sign in. Do the same on your new computer. Then when the library appears under Home Sharing on the left-hand panel on your new computer's iTunes, you can select all and Add To Library.
That's what Apple says, anyway.

If you only want to transfer the photos, import them from your old phone to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then put them in a folder and sync them to your new phone by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. The iCloud data will be on the new computer as soon as you download the iCloud control panel and sign into iCloud with your iCloud ID. What you see in iCloud is stored in iCloud, so it really doesn't matter what computer you are on. Once that computer is signed onto iCloud and the iCloud options are selected, you have full access to all of that information, and much of it is pushed back to your computer.
If you are referring to the data in an iCloud backup created by an iOS device, then that is not something that would be on a computer at all.

I'm not using iCloud, so do not know for sure. I feel as if I have more control by using iTunes on my computer, to determine what is on my iPad, and what gets deleted.
If your wife will share the same Apple ID with you, you do not need to remove everything from the old iPad. She can share your purchased Apps, music, et cetera.
In iTunes, you can have several iOS devices sharing Apps under a common Apple ID, but you can also "uncheck" specific Apps you do not want on one of your devices. Each device has an identity so iTunes should remember which App goes on which device during future syncs.
If your wife will have her own individual Apple ID, you need to go to Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings. This will return the iPad to factory defaults, except it will retain the latest iOS version installed.
