How to modify (add a new field) existing SOAP data source ?

Dear Friends,
I am getting data from Legacy databases (from different Views) mapped to the BW through XI.
There is an existing SOAP Data source which is mapped to the non-R/3 source system Views through XI.
My question is:
Now I wanted to add a new field to the existing SOAP Data source, which will be mapped to the newly added field in the source system by XI.
Please advice how could I modify the existing SOAP data source?

My plan is to add the new InfoObject(field)/BIC/ZXXX in the Datasource --> Map that field to the Info Object Zxxx in Comm Str. --> Extras (menu) --> Create BW Data source with SOAP connection --> Regenerate the PROXY --> so that now the XI guys could map the new Infoobject in my Datasource to the new field in the Legacy database tables
But why is that I am not able to add a new field in the Datasource ? I am trying this way: RSA1 --> Infosource tab --> Dbl. click on the existing Datasource --> here...I am trying to add new field in the Datasource...
is there any other special place where I could add a new field to the existing SOAP Datasource ?

have you added the new infoobject to the data target(infocube or DSO), once you add it then you will be able to see the same in the transformation also.

How can I add a new field for Belgium in T588M?

I am trying to change the infotype 0002 screen for BElgium. This is how I am doing T588M > new entry > MP000200 > alt. screen 2012 > var. key 12 > feature p0002 >.
I also maintained 12 as the var. key for the countr yBE in P0002 feature. I want to add P0002-GBDEP (state) field which is already there for MP000200 screen 2000 which is the SAP standard screen. why it does not copy this field when I create this field for Belgium. HOw can I bring it for BEl. Please advise.

As P0002-GBDEP is not included in screen '2012', you'll need to create an additional custom screen to show this field. Then, you'll need to config table 'T582C' to have 'MP000200' / screen '2012' to have this custom screen as an 'include' screen (e.g. if your new custom screen is ZP000200 / screen '0100', then in T582C, you'll need an entry with 'MP000200' '2012' ZP000200' '0100'.

Our requirement is when employees apply for overtime using Employee Self Service, there should be an option of choosing the Reason for the Overtime so that this becomes as a reference to the approver in decison. Please let me know the in which table is referred to for addition of a new field either from technical perspective or from functional point of view. Let me know the steps if possible.
There is one HR Data Entry Profile.
Also, let me know the Groupings: Settings, Worklist, Data Entry profile.

Add a new field in basic data tab in PPOME for a position

I want to display a Job ID field in Basic Data tab when displaying a position. Is this something to do in config? If yes, could anyone please guide me how to do it? Right now I can see only the Job description, but no ID.

Job ID field will not be displayed in Basic Data Tab. That you can see in the top hald of the portion under <-- Mark.
The details you can see are

First select the Job "Executive" and press enter, then you can find the details in the first half of the screen.

Text not visible for the new fields created for Data Source Enhancement

Hi .... I am working on Data Source Enhancements. I created few fields and append then to the Data SourceStructure . I also have populated the fields with data. The problem with a field is that I am not getting the text displayed in RSA3 ..Instead I am getting the field name itself.
Example:

In the above example the field ZZDOCTY is showing me the description in RSA3 i.e. Sales Document Type whereas the field ZZNOODL is not showing the text. Instead it is directly giving the fieldname ZZNOODL. Is it because of the fact that I created a Data Element for that field ??? and as I did not use the predefined data element as I did for ZZDOCTY???? Please reply me soon.....I need to display the text as "Number of Deliveries" instead of ZZNOODL........I am working on 7.0.....

May be the fields are hidden.
Go to RSA6 select your data source and on the tool bar there will be a pencil butonto change. Click that and at the bottom, you will lots of check boxes.
You go the field that you have enhanced and see whether the HIDE boxes are checked. If so, uncheck them, save and execute RSA3.

if it is a normal report program then you can directly create a Selection screen field.
After the Type-pool you can use Parameters or Select-options to create the selection screen field..
If it is a Modulpool program then you can create a selection scren field like
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 1100 AS SUBSCREEN.
PARAMETERS: p1(10) TYPE c.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 1100.

Layout Set: How to add a new field in a layout Set?

Hi ABAPPERS.
Question:
How can I add a new field in a layout set?
Scenario:
QC21 uses a global Layout Set ZQMECOA_GLOBAL.
There's a field required in this Layout Set which is Production Date(CAUFVD-GLTRP).
Where is the date query happening here?
Where can I insert the SELECT statement for the new field required?
I try to look at:
OPEN_FORM and WRITE_FORM, it seems that date query or SELECTION of data is not happening here.

If you are adding a header field then you will extend the header structure in CRM and do the same with Item structures for Item fields. You will use EEWB or similar technique in the CRM backend to extend the header or item.
These extended fields in the backed are available in customer_h or _i structures in the order object that can be read and modified in the Header BAdI or Item BAdi.
If you think that this message is cryptic or not enough, then you should search for Extension Guide in this forum and read the document.

How can I add a new field to an existing condition table?
I have table 971 and I want to add INCOTERMS (INCO1) to this existing table but do not see how to add it.

Hi Vicky,
I dont think you can add new fields to the condition table once you have activated the condition table.
SAP says you can only make limited changes to the condition table, like changing the description, fast entry screen, header and footer fields, but not able to add new fields to the table, and I think that is the correct approch or else for the same table you will have two sets of condition records.

What you can do is create a new condition table with additional field and assign this table before the currently used table in the access sequence.

We need to add couple of Data fields to Order Header ODS which gets loaded daily in Production through Delta mechanism enabled in R/3.
Currently there are around 3 million records in the ODS.

Hi All,
Here is the exact solution as explained to me by my senior consultant.
1. Add 2 new fields in the ODS in the Development System.
2. Stop the scheduling of the load & After that completely empty the Delta Q in R/3. As mentioned that there are several loads further happening through this ODS which are Delta and also it itself gets loaded with Delta from R/3. Hence we need to clear / empty Delta Queue.
3. Once this is done now we transport the ODS from Development to test / quality to Production System and once this is done. We will again remap the DataSources and then again re-activate the Update / Transfer Rules.
4. Now Do a Re-Initialization of the Delta Queue and henceforth the ODS will get loaded with data in the new fields but the history data will not have any data for those new fields (This is what I was unaware of earlier).
5. We also need to add this new fields in the Data Targets which are getting loaded from this Modified ODS. And then Empty that Delta Queue and then do Re-Initialization for the same as well.
This is what I got to know and we shall be doing this in short time. Hope this works fine. As there are million of Records which we do not want to delete.

Please, can anyone tell me how can we add a new field in the tab Addicional data en la ME21N? I have to use the MM06E005, but I don't know which screen exit should I use and also how to add this subcreen in the tab Addicional data.

Hi,
using SE80 you can add your fields with subscreens
SAPLXM06 0101 for Headerfields
SAPLXM06 0111 for Items.
This will add a tab in ME2..N.
if you want your own Text on the tabstrip just edit the Textsymbols
101 and 111 from SAPLXM06.
At output you have to open a module asking the gl_aktyp to switch edit/display mode.
then you must code the Exits to import/export values

Add a new field for the movement 551

Hey SAP folks,
I am having a situation that while doing the overage receipt(551) in MIGO transaction system having an option to enter the Purchase order number in the screen but not for PO item number.
When i went into the config under Field selection for mvt type , it doesn't give me an option to make an entry for 551 with PO item number.
Let me know how can we add a new fields that is not listed on F4 help under 551 mvt type in the config under Field selection for mvt type.

Are you sure that mov type 551 is movement for receipt PO?Cause as i know 551 is Good issue for Scrapping.
