How to modify Packages

Hi gurus,
Can anybody explain in simpler way, how to modify the packages...
I have read the sap help.. but I am not clear with the modifying it, .ie. giving task name, passing value.
Please give me some doc... if possible.

First of all tell me what version of SAP are you using????
If it comes to modificatio9n of packages--BPC for Excel->Manage data packages--->modify Package...this will take you to the modify package screen.
here there is a difeerence when it comes to MS version or NW version.
If your using MS version,can you tell why you want to modify existing package...then i can able to explain the steps.
If your using MS version,can you tell why you want to modify existing package...then i can able to explain the steps.bcz need to modify from the NW side also like Process chain and Sql Scripting in Script window.
So,need clarity in qestion to give any sol.

You didn't validate the import.xls transformation file.
When you are doing the validation it is created a file Import.Tdm and this it will be used after that.
Because you didn't do the validation the Convert process type is looking about the file but is not able to find it.
This was related to error message.
Regarding how to setup the constant
You can use INFO to define variable or constants for Modify Package.
For example replace prompt with
INFO (%MYTRANSFORMATIONFILE%, /DataManager/TransformationFiles//System Files/Import.xls)
Of course the path has to be correct. In my case it is just an example.
When you calll the TAsk
TASK(/CPMB/CONVERT,TRANSFORMATIONFILEPATH,%TRANSFORMATION%)
Using INFO you will not have that prompt message asking to input a file.

How to modify warning/error messages in DM

Hi,
in most of the DM packages a pop-up is generated stating one should enter more variables or something in case one did not enter any selections for any of the dimensions (for example in a copy of move package ...). Does anyone has an idea, where this pop-up is generated, how we can change it or how we can create our own pop-ups ... I'm just curious for this, since it can add value for data packages ...

Selection windows can be modify into DM using Organize package list - modify package - see the package script.
There you can use prompt command for selection windows (select dimensiones etc...).
Warning or errors popus windows can not be controlled or changed.,
These are implemented into client side and you don't have any option to configure its.

Previously I had been duplicating what the main pkg target was doing and just omitting the files that were not intended to be in the mpl pkg. After the main pkg is bundled up the files not needed will be removed from the stage directory and then bundled up as the mpl package. fixes SDK-25039
Straighten out the confusing packaging targets.
-sdk-packages is now packages -> calling this will package the flex_sdk_4 and mpl zips
QE notes: the mpl + add-on package should give us the flex_sdk_4 pkg

You have to enter the value as 1 in Installed base field and then press enter.
You will be taken inside and then you will be able to see the Goto - Partner screen.

How do I package a finished project to a client. She insisted on having three name logotypes with different effects and three monogram logotypes with different effects. The finished name logotypes are on one artboard/file, and the finished monogram logotypes are on another artboard/file.

This is how I usually do this. I create design framed in a artboard and when I want to create a modified version of it I duplicate the artboard with the artwork next to it. You can do this by choosing Duplicate Artboard from the Artboard's panel flyout menu or by using the Artboard tool holding Alt and dragging an artboard. The currently active artboard indicated by darker outlines and also highlighted in the Artboard panel is the focus of certain input such as (Ctrl + V) pasting coordinates, saving for Web with Clip to Artboard option, and some of the zooming methods like Ctrl+0 to fit in window. You make an artboard active by selecting something in it, selecting it in the Artboard panel which has higher priority, or using the Artboard tool. When you save your document the default preview that appears in programs that can preview Illustrator files such as Bridge use the artboard with ID 1 at the top of the list in the Artboad panel where you can rearange the order by dragging the artboard items.
Now, what I give to a client depends on how the client is advanced in using files. My prefered method for advanced clients is Save as PDF with the Illustrator default preset which saves the same thing as .ai file but has the advantage of displaying a preview of each artboard as a page using things like Windows Explorer windows. For less advance clients for ease of previewing or when comparing all versions of the design outside of Illustrator is preferable, I also can save a pdf version of the same file with each artboard being the default preview by moving it at the top of the list in the Artboad panel or a jpg file of each artboard using Save for Web.

When you mean which columns are displayed, this is actually quite easy.
Display_label will display by default the unique key columns, or if no unique key exists, the primary key. To overrule this behaviour, you have to specify the columns you want to display by assigning them a 'descriptor sequence'.
For example, to display the ename on EMP warnings, assign descriptor sequence 10 to the EMP.ENAME column and regenerate the CAPI package.

I would like to modify the behavior for the lookup field.
Normally you get a screen where it is possible to search through a lookup. The items resulted from the search are listed as radiobutton items. Therefore you can select only one at the time to be added.
Is it possible to have the items to be listed as checkbox instead? So that you can check multiple items and therefore be able to add multiple items at the time?
For example:
To add the user to 10 different groups on MS-AD.
It is desired to have the ability to check multiple groups to be added instead only one at the time.
My client would like to use this feature in many other situations.

Displaying will not be a big deal but with that you have to customize the action class and its working as well.

What version of oracle are you using? If it is 9i,
then you can the command
alter table <table_name> rename column <column_name> to <new_column>;
if it is 8i or earlier, you can create a view with the required names.

   I am facing a problem with u201Cuploadu201D filed length in BSP application.
When we upload the file in BSP page, the path displayed should be the full path (i.e. from where the file is being upload the file)
Now this field is appearing 20 char length
Now I want to increase the length of the upload field (Input field) to be 100 char so that the path is visible.
In the current application the file upload is being done through a structure (attributes)
In this structure the fields are like this

Now I need to change this attribute length from 20 to 100
For this I copied the standard class CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD into ZCL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD.
This ZCL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD contains all attributes of the standard class CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD
Including the one class (CLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD), this is defined as an attribute (ABOVE MENTIONED?)
This class is appearing in non editable mode, so   I have copied this class into zclass (ZCLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD).but still I am not able to edit the attribute called u201Csizeu201D
And also I am not bale to add the zclass in place of the ZCLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD
Kindly tell me how to modify the length of the field u201Csize u201Cand also how to add the zclass in the attributes of one class (syntax)

Hi,
Class CLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD is a class automatically generated when a BSP Element is created. You should not change/create such a class, unless by creating your own BSP Element.
As per your requirement, you can use the SIZE parameter of method factory:
ls_form_save-size = '100'.
CALL METHOD cl_htmlb_fileupload=>factory
EXPORTING
Id = ls_form_save-id
Size = ls_form_save-size
RECEIVING
Element = lv_fileup.

Can any one tell how to modify the PO that is being sent as an email?

Hi,
Can anyone let me know that how to modify the PO with some more additonal data while being sent as an email.
My actual requirement is that PO is already being sent as an email when the PO is created.But now they want some more additional data as an attachement along with PO to be sent as email.ie both PO and another scriptform(which contains some other additonal data other than from PO) have to be sent as an email to the vendor when the PO is created.
I would like to know the name of the userexit,where I can modify the existing PO or else please let me know how to resolve this issue.
First of all I would like to know the name of the userexit where this PO is being sent as an email.
It doesn't matter whatever the solution might be.But we need to send another sapscript form or additional data as an attachement along with PO through email to the vendor.I dont know whether it should be another script or it is also ok to add that data to the existing PO and then only the PO can be sent.
