How to modify the mail content in Spaces

How can the default mail content dispatched from "Send Email" in Discussion Forum can be modified ? Please can someone guide on how this can be achieved?
I need to modify the subject of the message being broadcasted to the Space members.
Version WebCenter Spaces PS4 (no cutomizations have been done)

Do you mean to read the mail content in R/3 inbox or UWL..?
If in R/3 then SBWP transaction Unread Documents..
If in UWL see notifications part.

In search of assistance learning how to modify the mail message from an out of the box SP2010 approval workflow.

So, I have found the article

However, there is a basic problem that I run into before I get started.
I am logged into the system as a regular user (ie not a farm admin, etc.).
I do, however, have full control on the site on which I am working.
I create a custom list.
I create a simple one step approval - sharepoint 2010 out of the box workflow.
I start SharePoint designer and give it the URL of the list. It opens up and I see the various objects on the left side of the screen.
I click right on the Workflows object - which is where the article says I will find the ability to copy and modify the workflow.
All I see is "open", "open in a new tab" and "Pin".
I selecdt open in a new tab - and I get a blank screen labeled workflows that says "There are no items to show in this view".
So, I click on Lists and Libraries, then on the name of my custom list.
When the list displays, the Workflows section of the page has a "Modified Workflow" displayed.
When I right click on it, no menu is shown. When I click on the modified workflow, I get the workflow settings page for that workflow.
I am trying to figure out how to create the copy of the workflow so that I can modify one of the mail messages in SharePoint designer.
Is there someone who has some advice on how to find this copy and modify option? Or perhaps a web site, web forum, article series, or book covering the topic?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to modify the OOB approval workflow in SharePoint Designer.
After opening the site in SharePoint Designer, just click Workflows in the left panel and then the workflows in the site will load in the right part.
If you want to copy and modify the OOB approval workflow, then you need to right the approval workflow
Approval – SharePoint 2010 under Globally Reusable Workflow. After that you will see the
Copy and Modify button.

How to edit the mail content

Actually iam Oracle Developer, got some issue related to Java.
There was some code written in Java for the Email's to be sent to customers.In this code they have used some hardcoded text aswell as database fields.Everytime users want to change the email content, they have request the developer to do so, which is a hectic task.
Now iam looking is there any possibility either in java or Oracle to resolve this issue,like
user on himself can change the context and those changes should apply in future aswell.

Of course the program can be modified to make it easier for the user to provide tailoring but the devil is in the detail and you haven't really given any and in any case the question is far too general. Since you posted this in the "New To Java" forum it seem likely you should start with the Java tutorial. Google is your friend.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to modify the email content for adding colleagues alert.
After some search and research, I have found that It is not
supported way of modifying text/format of email that goes out when a colleague is added.
The text/format is hard coded in a private method (Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ColleagueManager class) in an assembly that ships with SharePoint.
For the normal list, we can modify the content by edit the XML file of
alerttemplates.xml. We can find it in the below path.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML

Using the Mail content and Mail Attachment in the mapping

I have a requirement in which I need to read a file from the mail server and I am using the sender mail adapter for this. I have to convert the attachment of the mail in to the payload. To do this I am using the payload swap bean and mail transform bean. Now the issue is I have to get the information from both attachment and the mail content and need to map it to the target message. Please let me know how to do this.

Not sure if there is a staright forward way to achieve this.
But I can think of a work around for your scenario.

Instead of doing it this way, try
1. Message Transform bean that will transform the payload(content of the mail) to XML.
2. PayloadSwapBean to switch Payload and Attachment.
3. Message Transform bean to transform the attachment to XML.
4. Custom adapter module to read the attachment, contnet and create your own desired XML.
Alternatively, step 4 could be replaced by a Java mapping doing the same operation.

Here Field 3 is repeating many times. The value in the Field 3 has to be splitted and should be mapped to the target feilds. Field 3 will stop repeating until when the first value in the field 3 is N.
The length of the field is 142 characters in length.
The field should be splitted based on the following structure.
More data flag : 1 char (u2018Yu2019/u2019Nu2019) This indicates whether there are more records for the given criteria.
Number of statements : 2char (00 to 20) Number of statements in this fetch
The following are repeated as many number of statements
Transaction date : 8 char ( YYYYMMDD )
Transaction Id : 9 char (right justified, left padded with spaces)
Part tran serial num : 4 char (right justified left padded with spaces)
Tran Type : 1 char ( C - Cash, T - Transfer, L - Clearing )

How to get Formatted Mail Content through Java Application

I am using a mail sending function in my applet code which is listed below:
Main content is fetched from a format tool bar in JSP Page and it is passed as parameter to applet and it is used inside the mail content.
Same content when passed and executed in a JSP page, the formatted content is not lost and it is included in mail content as what it is fetched from Format Tool Bar.
Format is lost when it is used inside the Java Application mail sending function.

In the function listed above I have used the MIME Setting as
Multipart multipart = new MimeMultipart("alternative");
I have tried by using relative MIME format also as
Multipart multipart = new MimeMultipart("relative");
But I am not getting the actual format passed as input to the Java Application in the mail content.
Can anybody let us know how to overcome this problem?

You need to really understand how the different multiparts work instead of just guessing.
But for your application, you don't need a multipart at all. Just use msg.setText(msgText, null, "html");
Although that doesn't explain your problem, it will simplify your program.
How are you determining that the mail received doesn't have the formatting? Are you viewing it in a
mail reader (e.g., Outlook)? Or are you fetching it with JavaMail?
Are you using an Exchange server? Exchange will often reformat your message to what it thinks you meant.

You can convert your MSG file(s) to EML format, edit Date: header in EML file with any plain text editor (like Notepad) and then convert it back to MSG.

you cannot change the content type of a Message object which has been received. What you can do is create an instance of a MimeMessage class and set the content type as multipart and then add the received message as a bodypart to that message.
You can look at the javamail example codes as to how to create a new MimeMessage with multipart content.

But, would you please tell me how to control the CURRENCY for the subitem of a condition type as follows?
For example, I can see the following kind of
contents in the Tab:condition of a sales order:

 Rebate Basis 20.12 USD 100
 Net Value for Item 20.12 USD 100

The currency of PR00:price can be controlled via tcode VK12; but how to control the currency of its subitem such as gross value, discount amountm, net value for item, net value 2, & net calue 3...

Modifying the cell content based on input parameter from variable screen.

I am trying to modify a cell content in the BEX Web Application Report based on the input parameter from the variable screen.
I am already aware of how to change the cell content by creating a new ABAP class and inheriting CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE.
I do not know how to get the input parameter variable from the variable screen in my custom class ZCL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE. I am not very familiar with ABAP and would appreciate your help.

in the start method
define a work area like line of n_r_data_set->N_SX_VERSION_20A_1-TXT_SYMBOLS
loop at n_r_data_set->N_SX_VERSION_20A_1-TXT_SYMBOLS into <wa> ..
endloop .
This will have all the filter, variable values entered in the selection.
