  • How to enable Network load balancing for Enterprise portal

    Hello,
We have installed EP 7.0 central instance(00) and dialog instance (01) and would like to enable network load balancing between these two EP servers.Have installed network balancer and the configuration has been done at network level.
The below URLs are being used for accessing the portal
    Central instance :
    http://CIhostname:50000/irj/portal
    Dialog Instance:
    http://DIhostname:50100/irj/portal
Both the port number has to be same for enabling load balancing. In order to acive this we have to map this port to http port by making some changes in Visual Administrator.
Can you please let me know step by step  procedure or any link where i can find the same?
    Appreciate your response
    Thanks,
    Vadi

    Dear Jay,
    Thnaks for your reply.
No...NLB will helpful in load balancing between different 2 different  application (Ep)servers.
We are using microsoft network load balancer.Found the service http provider in VA for making those changes.
    Any way thanks.

  • How to monitor the load on web dispatcher

We have implemented a web dispatcher in our landscape for our portal production servers. We have 3 application servers that are being accessed through the web dispatcher. Sometimes users get the error "Service Temporarily Available" when accessing the portal. How do i check the load on the web dispatcher. Which is the parameter that sets the maximum number of connections?

To be able to administrate the SAP Web dispatcher in the Web interface see [Monitoring the SAP Web Dispatcher|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/05/ac923fa5e93c17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]. To do so, call SAPCAR as follows: SAPCAR u2013xvf icmadmin.SAR
You can find the archive file ICMADMIN.SAR like the SAP Web Dispatcher in the kernel package  DW.SAR.

  • How to monitor network shares availability ?

I have to develop indicators of availability.
I planned to create distributed applications for each indicator and generate reports.
On some applications, I have to watch the availability of a network share.
Have you already monitor shares availability ?

    Thank you for your answers,
I have already installed  this management pack, but on 30 network share, i have warning on 15. But it was no problem to access
    on the network share.
    I looked on
the rights of the Share and NTFS security without found solution.
I read on another post that  problem exist  with the mp on SCOM 2012.
Did you test this MP in SCOM 2012 ?

  • How to monitor network traffic on an IP alias?

Does anybody happen to know how I can monitor the traffic on an IP alias on say igb0:1 using iftop or something similar? iftop (pcap, I guess is the issue here) doesn't seem to cope with IP aliases.
    Cheers

After fiddling around a bit with this issue I decided that it was time to embrace dladm/ipadm a bit more and exchange these old-style virtual NICs with new ones. So I dumped the old igbx:y VNICs and created new ones by issuing:
    dladm create-vnic -l igb0 vnic0
    followed by:
    ipadm create-ip; ipadm create-addr…
Now, I can monitor these new vnics using if top just fine.

  • How to monitor CPU load/utilization

    Hi
We have an application which is deployed in a jboss server on solaris/windows. We need to monitor the system load and if the load exceeds certain threshold value then the application has to send out a notification (warning). Is there any java API available for the same.
We do not intend to use "ManagementFactory.getOperatingSystemMXBean().getSystemLoadAverage()". as this doesn't exactly show the CPU utilization.
    We use jdk1.6.
    Any help would be appreciated

load average is related to the queue length(prstat), where as CPU utilization is actual percentage of cpu utilization by the all the processes (vmstat).
In the wiki page it was mentioned that load average would consider even the process in waiting state.
Correct me if my understanding is wrong
    - Is there any third party tool which can be used for this purpose?

    Hi MS DEF,
A second network adapter is required to provide peer-to-peer communication between cluster hosts. Please isolate your heartbeat network. With unicast when cluster is connected
to a switch, incoming packets are sent to all the ports on the switch, which can cause switch flooding, please confirm you have setup your switch correct, you can refer the following Cisco Switch related unicast configuration.

  • How to Monitor Fortinet firewall

    Hii,
we have to monitor Fortinet firewall via SCOM 2012 R2.
IS it possible? If yeas then how?
How people monitor networking devices and Forntinet via SCOM 2012 R2.
Earliest Response will be highly appreciated.
    Regards, Syed Fahad Ali

To monitor it, You will need to check Management pack for model of FORTINET from vendor or from
    system center store.
If you find Management pack, import it and start to discover and deploy agent on it to can monitor it.

  • How to monitor loads

Hi can anyone tell me how to monitor loads n explain common errors we come across n how to solve them. Thanks

    Hi Arman,
We monitor several data loads using Process chain monitor. Execute tcode RSPC ->Locate your process chain-> click on it-> then click on Log button-> here select proper date interval-> you will be able to see the log of process chain for that time interval.
OR you can use tcode RSPCM to monitor daily process chains.
Please note that we do all above in 'real BW world scenario'.
And when Loading time you will get maximum these type os errors....
    1. Time stamp error.
sol: activate the data source and replicate the data source and load.
    2. Data error in PSA.
sol: Modify the in PSA error data and load.
    3. RFC connection failed.
sol: raise the ticket to BASIS team to provide the connection.
    4. Short dump error.
sol: delete the request and load once again.
    AND
    5. Data locking when loading in parallel.
    6. ODS activation failures.
    7. Unrecognised characteristics.

  • How to monitor Http Request and Response when load testing is going on

    Hi,
can any one please let me know how to monitor http request sent and response received for each virtual ID when a load test is going on ?
    Thanks,

You used to be able to see what the VUs "see" using the "VU Monitor" (it would only do a simple rendering of the HTML but it served it's purpose). However this was replaced (in v12 I think?) by the "VU Log". While this offers simlilar functionality, I have had problems getting to see the same level of detail. You may need to use the "debug" modes. Also check the "Content" tab within the VU Logs (it is the closest equivalent to the HTML you would see in the responses in the old VU Monitor).

  • How can i monitor network traffic to debug video playback issues from a NAS?

I am having problems playing videos on my new Mini that i am using as an HTPC.
I have a brand new Mac Mini running Lion with a 2.7 i7 processor and 8GB of RAM with a wired connection to a switch. .
My switch is a NETGEAR ProSafe GS108T-200NAS set to default settings. I haven't had a chance to start messing with VLAN settings or anything else. There is a bit of a learning curve on my part on this end.
My NAS is a ReadyNAS Pro (RNDP6000) with 3 x 1 TB hitachi ultrastar (HUA722010CLA330) drives and a 1.5 TB seagate (ST31500341AS) drive setup in RAID config using X-RAID2.
The problem I am having is video playback when accessing large video files off of the NAS.  These are typically 1080 HD mkv files.
I have tested movies as small as 7.5GB with only slight stutters on occasion.  I tried a 10.5GB movie and the stalling was much more pronounced. Movies larger than 11GB are completely unwatchable stalling every minute or so.
I have also tried large movies on the local drive and that is not a problem at all - they play back just fine.  Beautiful playback in hidef.  Mind you, some of these are the same files that were stalling over the network.
I have also noticed that some other network devices get kicked off the network when a movie is playing.
I think it has something to do with the transfer speed of files over the network and the switch - i am no expert at this mind you.
I am wondering if there is some sort of utility that i can use to monitor network activity on the mini so that i can fix my problem.  Or has anyone made chages in their switch settings to optimize data trasfer speeds.
    Any advice or recommendations on.
    Thank you all!

OK, I did a couple of things and ran things a couple of times.
First what I did settings wise:
I enabled jumbo frames on the Mac Mini, ReadyNAS Pro, and the Netgear GS108T switch.  All with MTU set to 9000.
I went ahead and enabled jumbo frames on the rest of the computers on the network just in case.
After these changes I ran into the same problems with videos timing out - very annoying and frustrating as you can imagine.
Then I started playing with device configurations.  My original configuration was NAS > Netgear switch > Mac Mini. I went ahead and switched the switch to an Airport Extreme I have as my WAP and the setup looked like this - NAS > Airport Extreme > Mac Mini.
Well, long story short, no go.  It appears to me that the NAS is the one having issues providing the necessary data at the proper speed.  I also tried playing sopme movies off of the NAS onto a desktop i have and had the same issues - choppy frames and crashing movies.  I even tried connecting wirelessly to see if that would work.
BTW, I have the Mac accessing the file system using CIFS.
I don't know what else I could do.
I am going to have to go to the Netgear forums to see if i can figure this out.  Hopefully, I can get things going to be able to help some people out.
If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.
My only other alternative is spending $2000 for the thunderbolt capable NAS that Apple sells - it's only money!

  • How to monitor load on my database server ?

    Hi Experts,
Could anybody please suggest me a way to monitor the load on my database server?
What perfmon counters should I monitor on daily basis and confirm that load on the server is increasing day by day [or] by week by week [or] every month. Also, suggest me if we can achieve this using DMV's so that we can store this info in a table using a SQL
agent job. Because a sql guy I would be more happy working with TSQL queries.
Do all this helps me, to put for forward my argument to the management that this server can handle this much of load based on data and incase if the load is increased on the server , we might need more resources ( like cpu, better storage , more RAM etc ...)
or move to a new server which has more power.
Also, please suggest any load testing tools so that I can test this on testing environment.
    Thanks in Advance.

    About Perfmon counter,
You may refer the below perfmon counter pdf file. You may need to look at all memory counters to confirm the issues.
    http://www.quest.com/backstage/images/promotions/SQLServer-Perfmonance-Poster.pdf
    Regarding
your request on workload, you need to do a Capacity planning of your servers first.
Please refer the below link, this would explain complete info:
    http://sqlactions.com/2012/05/15/collection-and-reporting-of-perfmon-data-for-sql-server-capacity-planning-and-trend-analysis/
To find the SQL Server Usage and monitoring server, you can even think of
third party tools like Spotlight/Foglight etc...

  • How to monitor load on AP

    Hi
What would be the best option to monitor the load on AP live? Is there a GUI tool for this or should I use command line interface? I was hoping that CNA would do this, but the AIR-SAP1602I.EK9 does not seem to be supported by the CNA. CCP seems to be another application, would this do what I want?

The best method would be using SNMP.
