How to move a 4GB file onto a USB Stick?

I know the USB stick is formatted wrong, but I'm not sure which format to use?
I want to be able to copy my Mac files onto the stick, couple of the videos are larger that 4GB, and give them to my client, who is on a PC.
So, I need to format it so that it will work on both a Mac and a PC.
Disk Utility has several options, but I am not sure which one is best for the later part, moving the files to a PC.
Disk Utility format options:
     1. Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
     2. Mac OS Extended
     3. Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)
     4. Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive)
     5. MS-DOS (FAT)   <-- I know this isn't it!
     6. ExFAT
Which do I choose?

These are the only two compatible with both. The latter can handle large files. FAT32 is only capable of up to 4 GBs per file.
You could purchase and install Tuxera NTFS 2012.3.4 on your computer so you could read and write NTFS files. NTFS is the most compatible filesystem for your described needs.

If I understand correct your post you are confused with difference of loading procedure between real smartcard and SDK simulation. It is a fact that simulation uses its own loader application and smartcards usually use GlobalPlatform card manager application. To load CAP file to the GP compliant card it is necessary to use sequence of commands such as INSTALL(load),LOAD,INSTALL(install+make_selectable). I do not know any specific java API to perform this loading with any reader. But there are few software programs from various card producers. This software is usually distributes toghether with smartcards.

Buy a portable wi-fi router with file sharing such as MOCREO 5-in-1 Portable WiFi (not personaly vouching for this one it just happens to be the one I have and it cost less than the apple connection cables).
Plug your USB stick into the router
Connect your ipad via wi-fi to the router.
Log into the routers built in file managment or use any FTP capable app to connect (GoodReader, ifiles, etc)
Transfer files.

Just to re-iterate...for some reason my Macbook doesn't seem to be providing enough power to the EHD through the USB ports.
So in recap.
1. Is there anyway to get more power to my USB port to power the EHD
2. If not, how do I transfer my contents of my EHD to my Macbook without wiping the EHD first

If they're stored as loose files, drag them there.
If they're part of an iPhoto library, open iPhoto and export them to a location on it. If the drive's formatted as Mac OS Extended and has enough space, you can instead drag-copy the entire iPhoto library to it in the Finder.

I have some music on a USB stick that I want to import into itunes so I can use them in an app. When I try and inport them itunnes doesn't show any files on the stick. They are in MIDI which I think is the problem. I am using a windows computer for this project.

I don't think rolling back and upgrading again will fix anything in the current version of iTunes. Do you not have some other software that can convert midi to a more compatible audio format?
Going back to your original post you say you want to use these files with an app. Can they be added to the app in question via the file sharing area when your device is connected to iTunes?

When in iTunes on the computer,my our ipadmshould show under devices.
Click on your ipadmunder devices then go to music at top center of the iTunes window, check what you want to sync for music. You need to set it to a folder if I remember which would have your music in it you want synced.
Same with PDF files.....there should be an option for data or even PDF files at the top center area of iTunes when the iPad is clicked under devices.
If your iPad does not show or you cannot click on it under devices which is in the leftane of iTunes, the iPad is not being seen by the computer.
Try unplugging the USB cord from the laptop then give it a few and see if the computer picks it up.

besides moving the file to the new directory, i'd advise you to find the name of your page in every file of your application (ultraedit does this very well) and append the directory wherever it appears otherwise you'd probably miss a reference and have a problem like you have.

If the icon for the USB drive is showing, just drag the file to it & drop the file on it.
If the drive isn't showing, in Finder Preferences General & Sidebar, check the appropriate boxes to get it to show.
PS. If the USB drive is FAT32 format, do not try to copy a 4GB+ file to it.

Assuming you are referring to a USB thumb drive, you have to make certain that it is formatted so that the MBP can read and write to it. Use Disk Utility>Erase to do that and select a format for just Macs or for both Mac and PC. Once formatted, you may drag and drop to the USB thumb drive icon on your desktop.

Yes you can make a USB stick of Lion or Mt Lion. Use Lion Disk Maker after you download OS X from the internet.
For Lion you have to point the download to an external drive and watch when it completes and reboots the system to start the install disconnect the external. If you bought Mt Lion from the Mac App Store then you can download it from there and just cancel the install when it comes up on the desktop.
If you are downloading from the Recovery HD or from the Online Internet Recovery system, slightly different then the built in Recovery HD, then again you need to point it to an external drive and discoonect that drive when the system reboots to start the real install.
Then use Lion disk maker to create either a DVD disc or USB thumb of the install files.
