How to move a scene in the timeline?

Hello All,
I have about an hour of footage in my timeline. In that hour of footage I have about 25 scenes. In each scene I have made several edits.
How do I move one scene to another part of the timeline? If I go to scene 5 and I use the double arrow tool it highlights all the footage from 5 until the end of the timeline. What I want to do is just "cut" the 10 edited shots that make up scene 5 and "paste" them to another point in the timeline. Every tool I have tried won't allow me to just highlight all the footage in scene 5 (so keep in mind there are several edits in scene 5. it is no longer one long piece of video).
Can this be done in FCE?
Thanks,
Mike

Click on the first clip of the scene then hold down the Shift key as you click the end clip. Make sure the cursor is the standard selection tool - A

Your sequence settings do not match the footage specs.

Microsoft Office? The applications themselves go into Applications>Microsoft Office 2011.
Why did you move them? You may need to install anew if you've moved the applications in the suite.

  • Move many clips in the timeline

    Hi all,
What is the easiest way to move many clips in the timeline, not all of which are contiguous. Reinserting can be continuous. ( My move, I am implying a ripple delete and insert.)
    Thanks

Can you expand a little on what you mean by this?

  • In Premier Pro CC How do I get audio into the timeline?

In Premier Pro CC How do I get audio into the timeline?

Did you make a sequence to fill the timeline first.
Quick way to do this is to do this:

  • My connected audio only clips moved from below to above the timeline. What happened? How do I get them below the timeline again?

My connected audio only clips moved from below to above the timeline. What happened? And how do I get them below the timeline again?

Repeatedly crashes. What I ended up doing was using a backup Final Cut Projects file and jettisoning this one with the glitch. Luckily, nada much lost. I've had a couple of these weird glitches happen in the Timeline, esp. when dealing with compound audio-only clips & some fx's and rather than spending mega time trying to fix the problem, I bail and start again, and try to be more methodical in my approach.

Just brought a new Mac Book Pro and wondered how to move my apps from the iPad to this?

iPad apps will not run on a Mac.
iPads use the iOS operating system. Macs use the OS X operating system. Apps for one won't run on the other.
The most that you can do is store the content on your iPad in the content libraries of iTunes for Mac. You can play the music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts from the iPad using iTunes on the Mac. As well as, read iBooks from the iPad in iBooks for Mac.

  • How can I move a clip on the timeline less than one frame?

I need to move an audio clip on the timeline to match the video but it snaps one frame at a time and I need to move it less than that.?

    I've just had a look.
    Try
    Edit
    Keyboard Shortcuts
    Panels
    Program Monitor Panel
    Program Monitor Panel Menu
    You should then find this:
You can then set up your preferred shortcut key.

  • How do I link clips in the timeline so that they move together?

I cannot seem to effectively link my clips together in the timeline and it is causing me multiple problems. First of all, when I want to move a clip from one place to another, the other clips after it are not moving forward to close the gap. I tried grouping the whole lot of clips together but then I cannot move individual clips without ungrouping them. Other problems are occuring as I try to solve this problem; the audio seems to have separated from the video so that if I do move a clip, the associated audio isn't going with it. It's frustrating. Someone can help with this easy problem surely. I've only just started using Premiere CS6 so I am a novice.

    Gaps dont automatically close.
Moving multiple clips you can do that in different ways: lassoing, using the track selection tool, shift click and so on.

I found this in the FAQ:
What format is Edge Animate’s output?
Edge Animate reads and writes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. Animated content produced in Edge Animate is expressed in a JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) data structure that preserves the CSS-based layout. JSON is a formatting style for JavaScript that is easily readable and allows more flexibility to work with the document and animated content independently.

Looks like the link to the 20 minute video may be the answer. I will be watching it tonight.

  • How to cycle through scenes using the up and down buttons??? (Please help, novice!)

    Hi,
I'm currently trying to teach myself how to use flash CS5 and actionscript 3 and apart from doing small amounts of programing here and there I'm a complete novice.
I have 36 photographs taken at 10-degree angles, making an object and i have each image in a different scene, with hidden buttons asigned to different parts of the object so that whenever you hover your mouse over them it provides some more information.
What I want to do is to be able to cycle through these images in the different scenes using the up and down buttons on the keyboard.
I'm hoping that I'm at least half way there having assigned the 'hot-spots' but I'm just stuck on the final part... please help!!!!
    Many thanks in advance!
    Harry

If you are talking about the arrow keys on the keyboard you will have to use a Keyboard Event listener and take note of the constant value for resulting KeyCode
This website seems to have a handle on it:
    http://www.republicofcode.com/tutorials/flash/as3keyboard/
There is another method that allows you to listen just to the keys you want (up and down):

  • How to get video thumbnails on the timeline?

I've got a single thumbnail at the very beginning of the video clip (on the timeline) ... I've seen pictures of thumbnails all along the timeline, wherever a clip changes. How do I activate this function? Can't find it in preferences.
    Ben

You get thumbnails only when you add time markers. For each marker his thumbnail.

  • How do I Nudge clips in the timeline

    Hello All,
I relatively new to Pr Pro and I am working on a music Video.  I need to sync various clips to the music track.  I would like to know is there a key command for nudging clip position in the timeline so that I can more easily get my mouth movements to reflect the words being sung.  I know about nudging the time indicator with the arrow keys but I can't find any info on nudging an actual clip forward or backward.  Right now I have to go to the highest resolution and move the clip around with the selection tool.  One other problem with this is that the clip blacks out in the program monitor when moving it around with the selection tool.
    Thank you

Easy to do : Alt + left/right arrow to move one frame. Alt+Shift+ left/right arrow to move 5 frames.
Hmm... unless you changed to these combos from the defaults, those are actually the key combos for sliding a clip. To nudge one frame, you want Alt+, (comma) or Alt+. (period). Add Shift to move 5 frames.
Ultimately, you can make these key combos to be (just about) anything you want. These combos and many more are user customizable under Edit > Keyboard Customization.
EDIT: I should mention that as long as your clip is "free-floating"--in other words, its head and tail are not adjacent to the head or tail of any surrounding clips, the key combo Robert mentioned will work. However, if your target clip abuts one or more clips in the sequence, you'll change the duration of the surrounding clips.
For example, say that your target clip is called "B", and it is 10 frames long. The preceding clip is "A" and is also 10 frames long, and the following clip is "C" and is 10 frames long. If you "nudge" clip B one frame earlier, clip A will now be 9 frames long, because the last outgoing frame will be overlaid by B, but clip C will remain 10 frames long, and a 1 frame gap will be created between B and C.
However, if you "slide" clip B one frame earlier, clip A will again be 9 frames and clip B will remain 10 frames, but clip C will now be 11 frames long with no gap between B and C.
Sliding a clip maintains its duration and its clip in and out points, but changes its timeline in and out points. Nudging does much the same, but it is not "sticky" in the way sliding is, in that it pulls unused frames from adjacent clips into the sequence to fill gaps. Both have their use; it simply depends on the situation to dictate what you actually want to do.
