How to move apps from internal storage to SD card

Hello,
I am new to the Forum.
I have just bought a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.
I am sure you all know that it only has 16gb of internal storage, so I have bought a massive SD Card with the intentions to transfer any moveable APPS to it, but I am having real difficulty in find a easy way to do this (I do not want to root my phone).
I thought I had done enough research on this phone before I bought it, but I just did not think this would be a problem !!!
Can anyone help please ?
Thanks
Bobby

This is such a setback for an otherwise great phone. I have a D5833 too with a 128GB microSD.
'Move to SD' button from Settings->Apps->select app is simply not available.
Rooting the phone would have solved the problem (if rooted, I can even mount my Android/data and obb/ or the entire /data from external SD like I did with my previous Android) or change platform.xml to allow apps writing to external SD directly.
However, I do not want to lose the fantastic low light post processing of the camera. Currently there is still no exploit to root Z3C other than unlocking bootloader (which will wipe the Trim Area, including the DRM id). There is no revert back once you unlock bootloader - relocking will not restore DRM id.
So still holding back from rooting for the time being unless you don't really care about your camera, X reality, Bravia Engine, or Screen Mirroring (can live without Mirroring to Bravia TV as Chromecast screen mirror works for this model - just not the Sony mirroring).

  • Low On Space - How to Move Apps from phone to SD Card

Yes, I have a Pantech Breakout and I'm having a little problem with it, It shows under my Storage settings with Total Space stating 7.50GB, Available space 7.16GB and Internal space 42.19MB. Now when I go to my Storage settings under Application settings where All is highlighted is shows on bottom of phone Internal Storage 297MB used and 49MB free, when I select On SD Card it shows on bottom of phone 3.55MB used and 7.2GB free. My problem is this I recently downloaded an app right and after I downloaded the app I received a Message telling me this: Low on Space...Phone Storage is getting low please move applications from phone to SD card to secure enough space. Ok, I just don't know how to move applications from phone to SD card.
    Thanks in advance :-)

Clear the cache. Menu > settings > Applications > manage applications > all tab > menu button > sort by size
Go through each application one by one and press the "clear cache" button.
Uninstall any application you don't need on the phone.  Sorry the pre-installed applications can't be removed.
If an application has an option "move to SD card" you can press it to move the app to the SD card.  Be aware that any application with a widget stored on the SD card will not be able to use the widget.
I would also check the size of your email application and if large, deleted any old emails from the trash.  An easy way is to remove the email account, reboot the phone and then add the account back onto the phone.
Text messages are another storage hog.  I would suggest getting a SMS backup or full text message (SMS & MMS) backup application to backup your messages.  Then you can safely delete your messages and clear up some space.

Go to the apps tab, select sync apps, select the apps that you want to sync.

Apps can be used with only one account. You can sync to more than one iphone from that account, but the app will not transfer to another account.

  • How to move apps from one screen to the next?

In order to organize a bit the screens after installing several apps, how can we move them from one screen to the next?
I've found it possible to place them in the lower bar and then replace them into the required screen but that's very slow...
    Any other way?
Also, is it possible to place the apps where we want and not get them automatically reorganized (blanks filled)?
    Thanks,

Sorry I guess the correct terminology would be 'virtual desktops'.
You pass from one virtual desktop to another swiping left or right on the phone.
I would like to switch conveniently an app (icon) from one virtual desktop to another.

  • How to move apps from old mac to new mac?

Hi, probably a question you all heard before...
But how can I move my apps from my old mac to my new mac?
    Thanks

    Hi Dirrek, welcome to Discussions!
See this KB article about Target Disk Mode:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8443.html
Although if it was me, I'd rather reinstall them from on my new Mac.
Depends on which software it is: for example some old versions are not supported anymore on Snow Leopard.

  • HOW TO MOVE MESSAGES FROM INTERNAL TO EXTERNAL MEM...

I have an E70 with Blackberry connect installed.
This works fine but I have a problem with the emails storage
Indeed, when I first did the config of the BB connect, I don't remember being offered the choice to direct the emails to the external memory.
Now, by default all emails are sent to the phone memory and this obliges me to erase these emails from time to time as phone memory as very little capacity
I have found the parameter for moving the message to the external memory ( this is under "messages/parameters)
The required procedure is to de-activate Blackberry before doing this.
This is OK until I want to re-activate BB. There is no way this can happen : the blackberry command does not "respond"
If anyone has gone through that, I would appreciate your insights
    Thanks, David

Hi dave ok i think this is maybe the answer if not sorry , ok the normal way to move all messages and recive messages to e drive (extrnal) instead of c drive (internal) is by opening messages press options . Now scroll down and select settings then scroll down and select other . Go down to memory in use change that from c drive to e drive

  • How to move app from old mac to new

I just got myself new mac,but thinking how easy i can move my applications only without redownloading and installing from diffrent places i got them..also it will take me alot of time...anyway to move those apps with there registration key from the old mac?
I wish to move only the apps and the setting i have made to them before....

When you set up the new Mac, it will offer the opportunity to migrate all your old data from the other one.
Lots of people skip that step, but you can run it any time. Find the program called "Migration Assistant".
It is in the Utilities folder and contains instructions on how to connect the two. All your registration keys etc. will be copied.
Beware that Power PC apps will not run with Lion. This is important. If you don't know the implications of that then write back.
Migration Assistant might take a while to complete - several hours is not unusual.

  • How to move apps from an iPad to the iTunes Library?

Each time I attempt to upgrade the OS on an iPad I always get a notice that there are purchased items on the iPad that have not been transferred to the iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPad.
    Exactly how is this done?

When you connect your iPad for the first time, it'll normally ask you if you want to transfer your purchase to iTunes (tap to enlarge image)

        Hi Eddielee,
Never fear help is here my friend! Pictures are priceless. I know the importance of making sure these memories are saved. Let's get this fixed. To move files between internal and external storage (ScanDisk Card):
      • Open the applications menu.
      • Scroll to and tap Files to open the file manager
      • Tap Internal phone storage
      • Scroll to the folder or file location to your desired file
      • Tap and hold the file, then choose Copy or Move
      • Press the back key and Tap the SD card
      • Scroll to the folder or file location where you want to place your desired file
      • Tap Paste here
      • Your file has been placed into your other storage location
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I move apps from an old mac to a new one

I am purchasing a new Macbook Pro after having my old one for six years. I have numerous apps that I have purchased and downloaded over the years. I don't want to loose them and really don't want to have to purchase them again. Can I and how can I move apps from my old Mac to my new one?

Be sure you back your current system up BEFORE you do anything. If you use Time Machine, migration assistant works well.
