How to move Dreamweaver 8 to my new computer, I lost the box?

Hi,
I want to move Dreamweaver 8 from my old and beat up PC to my new laptop, but I don't have the box or serial number or anything anymore, only that I have the program installed here on this computer. (I  want to move Flash 8 too, same problem. I installed them years ago)
I tried to just copy the files of 'Macromedia' from my Program Files to my new laptop but when I tried the .exe for Dreamweaver it didn't work.
Help is appreciated!

it gave me the serial for Photoshop, it did not for DW8 or Flash 8.
Look again, DW 8 might be listed under the name Macromedia, rather than Adobe.
You can't just copy the files of an installed program, because there are a bunch
of Windows Registry entries required for it to function.
You could explore some kind of "ghost" imaging software to copy and move
the program, but it's tricky.
In case you forgot, there were a couple updates to DW8

Apparently Adobe does not offer support for Elements12 and Premier.  Frustrating I spent most of yesterday trying to down load the two files you and Chat directed me to and nothing happened, the files wouldn't properly download.

how do I find my serial number? I have lost the box and the disk to install it again.

You may be able to find your serial number a few clicks beyond Manage Account at http://www.adobe.com/ at least if you purchased from Adobe or registered your purchase with them.
As far as losing the disc, that is not a problem because LR updates are available for download, and you would want to get the most recent one for whichever version you purchased (i.e. LR 5.7.1 for LR 5) and then you can just enter your serial number:

    1. Be sure you have your serial number.
    2. If you have only used one of two installs, install and activate on your new computer (as a precaution), then proceed to step 3. If your second install is currently used, proceed to step 3 without installing.
    3. Deactivate on you old computer and uninstall. To deactivate, open Photoshop and go to Help>Deactivate.
You may use Photoshop on two computers at any one time. By deactivating, you may change to different computer(s).
You can find the installer here: Download CS6 products

    Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Transfer other music by using on of the thirdt party programs dicsussed here:
    new PC: Apple Support Communities
Theaftr transfering the stuff, restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and then sync.
If you can move the iPod backup file to the new computer you can restore from backup.
The backup file is located here:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

  • How to move PSE 8 to my new computer?

So i just got a new computer and would like to move my old PSE 8 from my laptop over here so i could continue using it as i have previously. (I have never moved it to another device from that old laptop as the program came already installed to it when i bought it.)
However i've encountered problems as how to do this correctly, i tried finding download links for the PSE 8 with no succes.
After that i tried moving the entire folder where PSE 8 was located on my old computer but when i try to start the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe after entering the country/region i get this message:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
This product has has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched.
If you continue to see this message after restarting your computer, please contact either your IT administrator or Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

I tried restarting with no succes. After that i went and downloaded the Adobe License Recover program and completed all the steps and still got no results.

That's too bad, because you've made a bit more work for yourself by doing that. Now you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
and then go around and manually remove all the bits you can find. Then you can download PSE 8 here and install it from scratch:
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7

You will need to use a program such as Senuti or Yamipod to move the music.

  • How to move Adobe software subscription to new computer

I need to move my Adobe Acrobat XI subscription to my new computer. How do I do that?

Install your subscription on the new machine just like you did originally for the other machine.  If you want to have the original installation remain available as a backup you can since you are allowed to have two working installations.  If you wish to disable the original the minimum you need to do is to sign out of it thru the Cloud manager application.

  • How to move to Photoshop Elements and new computer

Hi, I've been using Photoshop Elements for several years, but am new to the forum.  I recently got a new Windows 7 computer and moved all my files, including photos, using a Windows 7 migration cable. I was using Photoshop Elements 6 on my old Windows XP computer and want to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 8 on the new computer.  How do I get my catalog into PE8?  Based on what I'm seeing in the posts on this forum, I'm thinking that I've gone about this the wrong way.  It looks like maybe I should delete my photo files from the new computer, then install PE8 on the old computer, do a backup in PE8, and restore the backup on the new computer in PE8. Does this make sense, or can someone suggest a better way to do this?  Thanks for your help.

I should delete my photo files from the new computer, then install PE8 on the old computer, do a backup in PE8, and restore the backup on the new computer in PE8.
That is definitely the most reliable method.  You're changing three things at once: new computer, new version of Windows, new version of PSE.  The catalog conversion process (upgrading to a new version of PSE) and backup/restore are both fairly buggy, so it's wise to do one step at a time to make troubleshooting and workarounds much easier.  It's also better to use the most recent (less buggy) PSE 8 to make the backup, rather than PSE 6.
People are tempted to take a shortcut on this and try to use PSE 8 on the new computer from a PSE 6 backup.  That will often work, but when it doesn't, they then waste a lot more time trying to make it work.   As the Car Talk Guys used to say, "It's the cheapskate who pays the most."
See this FAQ for tips on converting from PSE 6 to 8:

If you don't see the Application Data or AppData folders, you may need to show hidden files.
Just copy all the folders into the same location on your other computer

  • My laptop was stolen and all my music is on my iPod Classic. How can I transfer it to my new computer and keep the playlists and such?

    Hey Everyone,
My apartment was broken into and my laptop was stolen which had my entire iTunes library.  I have it all on my iPod Classic now which was with me at the time.
What do you suggest as the best tool to transfer the music FROM my iPod to to my new computer?  I know there are some programs out there, what have you had success with?
My most important question is, is there a way to retain my library and especially playlists as it is (instead of copying over a massive bunch of songs)?  Most of my music is from music blogs, mixtapes and underground artists so most of it cannot be found in the iTunes store.
    Thanks for any help guys!
    Vlad.

  • I recently got a new computer and lost the email that contained my serial number.

I recently got a new computer, my old computer had all my adobe products installed on it and was backed up to an external hard drive. Consequently, I don't have my serial number that was sent to me via email, because it was lost when I lost my other computer. Is there a way I can get one resent to me?

Your serial number should be available online if you purchased from Adobe or if you purchased somewhere else and registered your product with Adobe.
