How to move my music file to iTunes library

On June 20, 2008, I burned 149 songs by the same singer into a DVD and also a CD-R. Later, I somehow lost most of these songs from my iTunes music library. Today, however, I seem to have found them, or almost all of them. I found them in Music>iTunes>iTunes Music>Annette Hanshaw>Red Hot Jazz.
How can I move these songs from where I found them to my iTunes music library?

2nd reply: As it turned out, I could do it. I just dragged the icon "Red Hot Jazz" out of the Hard Drive with my cursor into the Annette Hanshaw screen of my iTunes library. It was easy, although I did make one mistake that I'm going to have to correct. The mistake I made was that because it looked to me as if the transfer of files was being done in installments, I dragged the icon into the iTunes page many times. However, when I saw that it was going to transfer 800+ files, I realized that what I had done was simply to put several copies of each song in the iTunes library. Now I have to delete the extra copies, but I'm not complaining. Now I'm going to go after all of those song files that are scattered throughout my hard drive, and consolidate them into my iTunes library. There will probably be many extra copies, but fixing that will be a simple matter. Tedious, but simple. Thanks for your help.

    CBellC-
I do not have iMovie, so I can't try this!
Run iTunes with your iPad connected to the computer, either by the USB cable or by WiFi.  Select the iPad under DEVICES in iTunes.  Click on Apps at the top of the window and scroll down to File Sharing.  If iMovie appears there, select it.  The Documents window to the right is where you transfer files to (Add) and from (Save To) the iPad.

Connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via control-S on a PC, option-command-S on a Mac), and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select which of your iTunes music to sync to the iPad's Music app

    Hello gbouie,
The following article provides steps that can help transfer content from various libraries into a single library. Just follow the steps outlined in the "External drive" section, and repeat as necessary until all music is consolidated.

  • I'm trying to figure out how to add my music to my iTunes Library..?

I have an iPod Classic, almost full of music... I'm trying to figure out how to add my music to my iTunes Library (so I can then sync with my iPhone). When I try to sync, it gives me an alert: Are you sure you want to sync? All existing content will be removed and replaced with songs from your iTunes Library. How can I add my songs? I don't mind backing my files up and restoring my iPod, but I can't even find how to do that. Please help?! Thanks.

Are you using Mac or Windows?
With Mac you can click file on the top left, on the dropdown box 'Add to Library...'
With Windows you could have the folder with the music in open, and simply drag it into iTunes.
Or simply stick the CD into the computer and let it do it's work
If you want to backup, it should already do it for you, then once your iPod has been restored it lets you choose from the backups that iTunes has created. That's just me though it may not be the case for you.

Has she transferred iTunes content to her iPhone from an iTunes library on another computer or from a different iTunes library on the same computer?
If not, you transfer music to her iPhone from your iTunes library in the same way the music was transferred to your iPhone. If she has any iTunes content on her iPhone that was transferred from a different iTunes library, all iTunes content on her iPhone will be erased first.

Create new IDs for each by:
Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
    Use that Id only for:
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into the new one. Make sure that only that ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into the new . Make sure that under You can be reached at only the new ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with the new one
Continue to the one one common ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores. That is what controls purchases.

How do I get music in my iTunes library onto my husband's MP3???

If it's an iPod, just sync it to your iTunes, then you should be able to go to the music tab in the iPod's menu, and choose what you want to sync.
If not, I'm sorry, I do not know. I hope this helps!

  • How do i move PC music files to itunes?

Is it posslible to move the music files in one's PC  (windows media) to the itunes?
I downloaded itunes; it imported SOME of my music....but not all of it.
Is there a reason for this?  Can all the files be moved?

iTunes will offer to import WMA on the initial import, or thereafter if you add a folder containing WMA files  The files will be converted according to the current import settings so it is worth making sure you're not converting 128k WMA into 320kAAC. When I switched to iTunes I searched for my WMA content and sorted it by bitrate into separate folders for conversion at appropriate rates. This avoids creating duplicates by repeatedly scanning the media folder.

  • How do I transfer music from one iTunes library to another?

Whilst out of the country and therefore not connected to the internet, using my laptop to play iTunes, then suddenly the library seemed to disappear!  When back in the UK and internet-connected again, found solution to locating previous libraries so, thankfully, all songs retrieved!  However ........... my latest Adele 21 CD was loaded during the interim period, so how do I get this file from one library to another, without using the CD, as my son has now taken this with him for his 7 month naval deployment to the Carribean!

My mother's father's brother's daughter contacted me two years ago. I have never seen them, but they are "family".  Can I copy their CDs?
You would have to take this up with a lawyer.  Apple Discussions isn't the place to get legal advice.  You can read some takes here (in particular "Copying CDs" at the very bottom where it mentions "personal use" which I don't think means distributing copies to family members not in your immediate physical location).

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC, which might make things easier. Then connect the iPod and select it on that left-hand sidebar, and then on the right-hand side of iTunes select the Music tab - you should then be able to select which of your music to sync to your iPod
