How to move Oracle APPS 12 setup data to new APPS 12 production environment

Dear All
I need to know , how we can move Oracle APPS 12 setup data to new APPS 12 production environment?? What is the easy and secure way, we dont want to do the new installation of APPS 12 and re-setup the things....
cheers

Hi,
Can you please explain more regarding to move setup from DEV to PROD instance.The steps are documented in the iSetup manual, so have you gone through the documentation?
Also we would install PROD with multi tier nodes, and HA cluster. So in that case what would be the change to move the setups from DEV to PROD, as DEV is single node TEST APPS 12 installation.iSetup is helpful in moving the functional setup between the two instances. If you want to create an identical copy of your DEV instance to PROD instance (provided that both instances contain no data), then you can use "Rapid Clone" -- See (Note: 799735.1 - Rapid Clone Documentation Resources, Release 11i and 12).

  • How to move library only (not data) to new SSD

    I currently have an iMac with a 2TB drive which contains my OS, application and all data (iTunes etc). However, I am about to install a 240GB SSD as an additional drive which I intend to use for the only for the OS and applications. I would like my iTunes library files to reside on the new SSD but to leave the data(music, video etc) on the existing 2TB drive and wonder what is the best way to achieve this.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Regards

    The details of the answer will depend upon how you intend to have to drives set up.  If you're not changing drive structure in any way, try copying the iTunes folder to the SSD but do not copy the media folder.  On the SSD start iTunes with the option key held own and guide it to the new location of your library files.  I believe (but cannot test this) it will still know to look for the files on the other drive.  If it doesn't you will have to take additional steps.
    Typically the easiest thing to do is not split library and media files.  It gets messy when moving between drives and if all your media is on another drive there's not really much point in having the library files on the main drive with no media.  You can just leave it all on the 2TB drive, then start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the library location on the external drive.

  • I have just purchased a new ipad2 to replace my old ipad. How do i sync all the data in my apps I am worried about losing my data?

    I have just purchased a new ipad2 to replace my old ipad. How do i sync all the data in my apps I am worried about losing my data?

    iPad settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party party app along with app settings are included with the iPad's backup along with other data.
    If you are syncing your iPad direct with iTunes on your computer via USB, the iPad's backup is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
    The first time you connect a new iPad or iOS device to iTunes that is used to sync with another iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iOS device to the new device. This is followed by a sync to transfer the same content from your computer that is on the old iPad to the new iPad such as music, movies, tv shows, 3rd party apps, photos, audio and print books, etc.

  • IPhoto 9.6: How to move your iPhoto library to a new location?

    Hello,
    How do I move my iPhoto libraries from my system disk to a data only disk in iPhoto 9.6?
    I followed the instructions on this support website titled " iPhoto 9.5: How to move your iPhoto library to a new location."
    However, this only appears to have copied the libraries, not move them.
    According to what I see in Finder, I now have the same library on two different disks, but that was not my intention.
    Thank you

    So, delete the one from the unwanted location.
    When you move data across volumes by default it is copied to the new location, afterwards you delete it from the previous location. It's a sensible protection against dataloss of anything goes wrong with the copy.

    how to move my iPhoto library to a new iMAC?

    To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
    Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
    But however you do choose to link the two machines...
    Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
    This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

    How long does it typically take to update new apple products?  I'm speaking in terms of software/firmware updates.  My new Apple TV and iPad 3 are glitchy, which is extremely frustrating considering I have the last gen of each sitting there working flawlessly.

    I appreciate the responses, however my initial post was too vague. I apologize and will explain.  The specific issues are the window closes occasionally when loading something large, that has ceased in the last day or two. My battery life is no where near the second gens, is that the extra hardware at work? I thought that had been accounted for? One of the frustrating, albeit humorous occurrences is when I placed the second and third gen within 1 foot of each other, turned off LTE, and streamed a video.  From every location the second gen out ran the new model on 3G signal, lol.  Not a huge deal since I have wi-fi or LTE pretty much everywhere I am, but disappointing none the less.
    The new apple tv is great, except for the same thing everyone is posting about. HD iTunes library streaming taking overly extended load times. I don't expect it will take too long  for apple to address that issue. I'm new to apple, last 6 months, but they seem to have excellent support!  It is definetly highly rated.

  • How to move all or partial data from Mac to an external hard disk?

    Hei,
    I need to learn how to move the movies/projects/events from mac hard drive to another external hard drive.
    So basically, I have always imported all events from my video camera (the original clips) to iMovie located in my MacBook Pro hard drive. But after videoing for one year, the hard disc is starting to get full, and I cannot continue using only the laptop's hard drive.
    So I would like to move part OR all of my iMovie related stuff to another external disk drive (connected with USB wire). How do I do that? Is it possible to have some events located in Mac's own hard drive, and some clips/projects in the external hard disk? How to arrange all this?
    I know that "projects" are linked to the original event clips, so if I would be able to export some part of my iMovie data to the external hard drive, I should export both, for example, everything from the same year (the events) which is linked to the projects that are using those data.
    Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    ok First with IM9, you can easily move stuff around. Here are some lessons learned from my experience managing projects across 6 different drives.
    1. All Drives must be formatted macos extended journaled
    2. The large terabyte drives are great for long term storage of events
    3. When you are working on a project, if possible, try to move the clips the current clips you will need to your internal hard drive. This is only necessary if you care about any time machine back ups.
    4. I have also worked on project straight from the external drives. I also use portable drives such as WD passports. These are small 500 gig drives that can travel with you. I have three of those. LOVE THEM.
    5. One way to move projects and clips and keep things organized is to move the project using command drag. It will ask, do you want to move just the project or project and clips. Then voila all clips and project are then moved to that drive!
    6. REMEMBER...MOVE WITHIN IMOVIE using COMMAND Drag. NEVER EVER USE THE FINDER. This is for both projects and events. Using the Command Key will ensure the projects are moved and not just copied!
    7. Last but not least, if you have changed the dates of events using change date function in imovie....For some reason, there is a bug. It inconsistently will change the date. Don't know why and have reported the issue, but it is still not fixed!
    But its still a great little app!

  • How to move only subset of data from one database to another?

    Both source & destination are Oracle11g databases.
    The requirement details are as below,
    1) The database contains static as well as transactional data for telecom domain.
    2) We have to move region-wise data from one database to another.
    3) There are around 10 regions.
    4) The region wise data extraction from source db is based on around 40 to 50 tables. Rest of the tables contains
    static data & it will not change.
    5) The volume is around 1 million subscribers per region.
    6) The migration is required because
    a) The client is upgrading its base product which uses this database
    b) There is a change in structure of static tables
    c) Hardware upgrade
    d) The client want to start with single region on new database & rest of the regions will be operated from old
    database.
    7) Keep execution time to very minimum.
    I am thinking to have solution as below,
    1) Create destination database with upgraded db structure (as mentioned in 6b)
    2) Create database links to access source db in destination db.
    3) Write SQL queries to fetch data from all the respective tables for a specific region
    4) Write separate PL/SQL blocks for each table to fetch data from source db & insert into respective table in
    destination db
    a) Use FOR ALL & bulk collect to improve the performance
    b) Divide table data into multiple chunks & execute parallel batches (around 10) to insert the data
    5) Validate pre & post counts to verify the success of migration
    Is there any other better way?
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    How to move only subset of data from a partiular table by using transportable tablespace?
    E.g. SUB table using SMP_SUB tablespace contains subscriber data in source database.
    The indexes defined on SUB table are under SMP_IDX_SUB tablespace
    The subscribers data can be categorized by different regions, say region_id column. Then how to move data & indexes of SUB table from source db to destination db?
    any specific example would be helpful.

  • How to truncate oracle.jbo.domain.date

    Hi,
    I have problem to convert oracle.jbo.domain.date. Now I got current date from pagecontext, but it is yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss format. I want to only yyyy-mm-dd, so I want to truncate the time from oracle.jbo.domain.date. And I want to got Date object not string. I found there is Date.truncate(), but I don't know how to use it.
    Could some one to help to give me a example?
    Best Regards,
    Eileen

    After spandig a lot of time with this I have found that the method is not implemented!!!
    Use this:
        public static oracle.jbo.domain.Date trunc(oracle.jbo.domain.Date dt,String fmt) {
            java.text.SimpleDateFormat sdf = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat(fmt);
            String s= sdf.format(dt.getValue());
            java.sql.Timestamp ts;
            try {
                ts = new java.sql.Timestamp(sdf.parse(s).getTime());
                dt=new oracle.jbo.domain.Date(ts);
            } catch (ParseException e) {
            return dt;
        }To trunc to hours use format e.g. "dd.MM.yyyy HH"

  • How can I copy installation/setup files of an App downloaded from Mac App Store?

    I just purchased and downloaded Xcode on my Macbook Pro and now want to install the same on my MacBook Air and iMac but I don't want download them again and again. Isin't their anyway by which I can copy the installation/setup files of that App and paste it on another Mac and use my iTunes account credentials to verify the App with Apple servers, so that they know it's legit install. And also keep the copy as backup so that, I can install that App again after I format my computer or use it for future use.
    I live in a third world country and aren't blessed with high speed and unlimited bandwidth connection.

    Issue solved:
    Answer found in Apple FAQ's site: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4482
    The Mac App Store remembers all apps you purchase with your account. Apps you purchase and install from Mac App Store can also be copied to an external hard drive, USB Flash Drive, CD/DVD, or backed up via Time Machine.
    If you save a copy of an app to removable media (such as an external hard drive) or file share, simply drag the app back from its storage location to your Applications folder. When you open the restored app for the first time, you may be required to sign in with the Apple ID account that was used to purchase the app.

  • How to move oracle

    all,
    I have a windows server with 2 (raid 1) hard disks which contain the OS windows 2003, the oracle binaries and the oracle database. My client is going to purchase more disks to create a separate RAID drive and he wants the database moved to this new drive. Can anyione suggest the best way to carry out this process. The database is Oracle 10gr2
    rgds
    alan

    if you are concerned just about the database, then it is enough to move database files to the desired location, and let the controlfile know where the files are found.
    If you are concerned with moving the Oracle Home, you will have to reinstall at the new location.
    A.
    1. Generate a create controlfile script with the ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE command.
    2. Edit it so the new datafiles are declared at the new position.
    B. Create an S.O.S. Script (SQL Out of SQL) to issue the ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE command.
    3. Cleanly shutdown your database.
    4.. Move your database files to their new location
    5. Declare to the Controlfile the new paths. Either if you choosed A. or B. to declare new positions.
    6. You're done.

  • How to move iPad from old XP to new Windows 8?

    I get how to move the music. I get how to transfer the store purchases. My fear is that I will somehow lose my Contacts and Calendar information, and my game progress. Luckily, my old XP is still working. I have an external drive. I've downloaded and installed the current iTunes to both the XP and Win 8 machines. I've created an encrypted backup of the iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.3) on the old XP. I know where that backup lives within the Application Data. I know where the iTunes Folder lives within the My Music section of My Documents. I see that it's arranged differently within the file structure ("Music" vs "Media") as compared to the Win 8 machine. I'm not using Outlook to sync Contacts or Calendars on either machine. I'm not averse to using iCloud, but again, afraid of losing Contacts. Hours of fruitless searching and contradictory and outdated advice have lead me to write to you all. If anyone can provide clear, concise, step by step instructions on how to sync my iPad 2 with my new computer so that I can get back to playing Candy Crush without losing my Contacts, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
