  • Right now I'm using version 3.6 somthing, but I would love to update, but I'm nervous cause last time I did my Add ons and Ext that I use didn't work. How would I know if my add ons and exts are compatible with a new version?

I'm using version 3.6.24 (whatever the latest update was that just took place 2 days ago for the 3.6 Version) What I would like to know is if I update to a newer version like 7 or 8, whichever is not a Beta, how will I know if my add ons and extensions will work? Last time I had updated to a newer version, non of my favorite add ons or extentions would work, so I went back to 3.6. Can you please help cause something needs to be done cause my Firefox crashes a lot when Adobe is being used.
I also don't know if any of my add ons are crashing my computer. Either Adobe crashes or my whole computer crashes. Can someone please help me?

  • When looking for WeatherFox, I discovered my entire lower bar had disappeared. I cannot figure out how to restore it. The add-ons are still installed.

I just noticed this morning that the lower tool bar, including weatherfox, Hebrew Calendar, and several other add-ons, has completely disappeared. Perhaps it's a matter of having inadvertently clicked on something one day when not paying attention. When I checked under Firefox preferences a little while ago, I went to <manage add-ons> and saw all installed add-ons were still installed. I cannot find a way to restore the lower tool bar displaying them.
After doing a back-up, I opened Time Machine to see whether an earlier Firefox homepage included the lower bar. I don't know whether I did not go back far enough or whether Firefox is somehow opening to a new, unintended default without that lower bar, no matter how far back I go.
Meanwhile, in the process of writing this, I returned to Firefox Preferences and now the general preferences dialogue box is completely screwed up, as though the size of the contents of that dialogue box had grown, in both dimensions, so it no longer fits within the box and parts of it cannot be accessed. It is truncated, in other words, both at the right side and along the bottom. I can no longer even access the add-ons section. The last thing visible at the bottom of that box is the very top part of the line of text that appears to read: "Choose preferences for your add-ons." It's as though someone had come along with an Exacto and sheared away the bottom part of that line of text. And then there's the <?> at the lower left corner. Along the right side of the box, under "Home Page," there are three buttons: <Use Current Pages>, <Use Bookmark>, and <Restore to Defau>, which is the point at which the text ends.
What the heck is going on? Now it's not only a matter of restoring the lower bar on my Firefox page, with add-ons displayed, but apparently I need to figure out how to resize the general preferences dialogue box, as well. I just checked: The other preferences dialogue boxes appear to fit correctly.
I use a Mac PowerBook G4 with Firefox version 3.6.13.

  • How to find out if my add-ons are compatible with new firefox version before i install?

Is there a way to discover whether any of my current add-ons will be disabled/incompatible *Before* I upgrade to a newer version of Firefox?
Whenever I've updated Firefox, I haven't found out until After the new version is installed that my favorite 'must-have' add-on is incompatible and there is no viable/satisfactory alternative to it. The loss of Certain add-ons is, for me, a deal-breaker to upgrading. And it's a royal pain to downgrade to the previous version to retrieve my add-on.
    I don't know if addiction to particular add-on(s) is common - I figure I can't be the only one . . . ?
It would be So helpful if there were a database or list that shows which add-ons are/are not compatible with which versions of Firefox. Is there such a thing? If not, could one be created?
    Thanks for your help!

Firefox 9.0.1 is a real old version and is no longer supported - Firefox 24.0 is the current release version.
Open the Add-0ns manager tab and click on '''More''' for each extension that you have installed. Near the bottom of each "More" there should be a link that will take you to the download page where you can verify compatibility.
Or use this extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/ - but I'm not sure how well it will work when you are so many versions 'behind the curve'.

  • How to make 32-bit-only add-ons work with Windows 7, Internet Explorer 11 and Enhanced Protected Mode enabled?

    Hi everybody,
in IE10 I had the chance to use 32-bit-tabs even with EPM. In IE11 my 32-bit add-ons are all marked as "incompatible".
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Regards, Don

    Hi Don,
The ”Enhanced Protected Mode ” feature of  Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 7 has been simplified and it doesn`t provide the “Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode” feature. The Enhanced Protected  Mode is based on the 64 bit process.
So that may be the reason.
Here is a link for reference of Enhanced Protected Mode :

  • How do you identify and remove add-ons/extensions

The explanation of how to remove add-ons tells you to click on menu (and then 3 parrelel bars) What menu is that? I figured out(by trying each and every menu until I figured out it was the tools menu. when I get to the last step it says click the remove button. There is NO remove button at that point (just an enable button which is the last thing I want to do. I am talking about the Cinema ploos extension. It represents it's self as an upgrade with many improved features, but all it is is an add bot that is noisy and obnoxious and they want a one time fee (extorsion) to remove it

  • How do I retrieve bookmarks and Add Ons for Mozilla after it was unintentionally UNINSTALLED and Re-Installed? No bookmarks were backed up anywhere on the computer.

Someone inadvertently uninstalled Mozilla on my machine [Windows 7 op]. I had to do a new installation just now. I haven't opened or saved other files yet. HOW can I retrieve the old information from the UNinstalled Mozilla to add to the newly installed Mozilla? Please help. I have several hundred bookmarks and a few favorite add-ons missing. I hope they were not completely wiped during the uninstall - but only your programmers know how the UN-install function works and whether or not residual files are left on the computer.
    Thank you.

  • How can I restore accidentally-deleted add-ons?

A year ago, I wasn't fully awake and I accidentally deleted some critical add-ons that my Firefox needs to become stable. Is there a way I can restore them?

If this was nearly a year ago then it is very highly unlikely that there is any remnants of the add-ons left. depending on the add-on and very specific circumstances it may have left behind config files in a temporary area. the only thing i could suggest to get them back would to be to attempt to recall which add-ons you installed and re install them. If you are merely interested in making firefox as stable as it was when you first installed it then please follow [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|this mozilla support article]] showing how to completely reset your browser. NOTE: Pay close attention to what the article says a reset will and will not change. a total browser reset may be just what you want or may not effect anything at all for you.

  • How do I remove programs or add-ons?

I use Firefox as a secondary browser. I installed "Bring me Sports" by Mindspark Interactive and I want to remove it. I installed it through Firefox and it is not showing up in my start menu. I use Windows Vista and my primary browser is Internet Explorer 9.

Programs and plug-ins are third-party software. You uninstall them from the Windows Control Panel.
Add-ons like extensions and themes are uninstalled from Firefox.
    # To open the Add-ons Manager, press the ≡ Menu Button and choose Add-ons, or press Ctrl+Shift+A.
    # Click Extensions on the left.
    # Click the Remove button next to the extension you want to uninstall.
    # Restart Firefox for the change to take effect.

  • Have TorBrowserBundle running Firefox ESR10.0.12 on Mac OS X10.8.2 after browser update how to migrate settings , preferences and add-ons?

Updated TorBrowserBundle and none of my settings, bookmarks, preferences, and add-ons were migrated to the new version. Have you had trouble with this before? I did not replace my older version, so can I migrate these settings and add-ons like is possible with the bookmarks HTML file export?

We are currently running 10.8.5 with Workgroup manager 10.8 and Server App 2.2.5
My question is, would there be any modifications i would need to make to your instructions for them to work on the above os and app version?

  • How do I manage 3rd party add ons and source control

Some developers friends of mine just got burned because a 3rd party add on to LabVIEW they use in thier code was not in the Software repository. They needed to go back and rebuild a previous version, but it was not immedietely obvious which version of the add on belonged to which version of the source code.
The 3rd party helped make this worse by being perfectly happy to change the pin outs on the API VIs in between revisions.
So they could not simply select a non buggy version of the add on and a non buggy version of the source and compile.
In some cases we have put 3rd party add ons in the source directory so they become part of the SVN project. My friends had them where they where installed, which was under the vi.lib folder.
This does not always work. For example the Internet Toolkit's FTP code has so many layers that it can be a challenge to get them all moved over. If you want to have the ability to overwrite local files when doing a get, you need to make a small change about 5 layers down in the VIs. We basically have to do this for every developer machine that has LV 8.5 on it. (LV 2010 fixed this. It was the first thing we checked.)
So I am wondering what other LV professionals do to manage revision control of 3rd party add ons.
    Thanks!

I generally created a ZIP file of the entire third party tool and all of its pieces. Generally they are well enough behaved that everything is at least under a single folder in the file system. I then check this file into source code control. Another optio would be to use JKI's Package Manager. You could create your own local packages of the third party tool and use VIPM to manage those packages. I generally don't put any of NI's toolkits in source code control.
