How to move photos from one user to another

I have photos in iPhoto on one user but I need to move them to another user on my iMac.

Move the iPhoto Library from the Pictures folder in the first account to the "Shared" folder on your Mac.
Sign into your second account and drag the iPhoto Library to the Pictures folder.
Then repair the permissions on the iPhoto Library using the First Aid Tools. The files inside your iPhoto library will belong to the original owner.
To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
Then select "Repair Permissions" from the First Aid panel.

We're thinking of adding a library copy feature soon. Hoping you can share some info here to help us understand how this might best work fo you. Here's a few questions I have:
- What do you use the 2 libraries for?
- Why do you want to copy?
- Do you have albums, favorites, and comments associated with the photos? Do you want them copied?
Anything else that you are hoping to accomplish here?

How do I MOVE pictures that I have created on one user to the new user?
I don't wish to keep the photos on the other user as I feel it would use up too much room on the Imac...

Does this involve iPhoto somehow?
Assuming it does: export from iPhoto in Accoint A; put the files in the Users/Shared folder. Switch to Account B. Import the files from the Users/Shared Folder.
Then delete the files from Users/ Shared and back to Account A and delete them from iPhoto there.

Hi Katrina,
You should be able to do this easily.
First thing you should do is figure out who is the "Admin" account on your computer. The easiest way I have found to do this is to change the permissions of the entire account the pictures are in so you can access it or vice versa.
Click on Mac HD > Users > Pictures > iPhoto Library > highlight folder and right click on "Get Info" > look at bottom of new window, Ownership & Permsision, this box will tell you if you can Read & Write, etc. > now open up "Details" and change the "Owner" to your account > Access: Read & Write > hit the "Apply to enclosed items" button. You can now access your sister's iPhoto library from your account.
You can open your sisters iPhoto Library by holding down OPTION key while opening iPhoto > in dialog "Choose" navigate to your sisters iPhoto library and open. I think it would be best to use the export option to a folder on your desktop for images, afterwards close iPhoto, to open your library use the OPTION Key > Choose navigate to your libary, now add images etc etc etc...
While you have persmissions set this way, your sister will not be able to access her iPhoto library till it's switched back by the Admin account...

How can i move the tables & data starting with TIS_ from USER1 schema to this new schema?
By below query i created new schema:-
create user TEST identified by TEST12 default tablespace DMGTS;
Both the USER/Schema are in same tablespace.
It is ORACLE9i.

EXCHANGE PARTITION YOUR_PART_NAME TABLE User1.A
WITHOUT VALIDATION; -- After this all your data from User1.A will be moved to User1.P(YOUR_PART_NAME)
3) ALTER TABLE User1.P
EXCHANGE PARTITION YOUR_PART_NAME TABLE User2.B
WITHOUT VALIDATION; -- After this all your data from User1.P(YOUR_PART_NAME) will be moved to User2.B
All data moving will take about 2-3 sec.

How to move files from one user to another?

I have an account for my wife on my iMac and started up in her account and then backed up her iBook into this account (on my computer). I wasn't thinking that this would mean her files would not be accessible to me. Is there a way to be able to transfer some of these files to my Documents folder?

Don't worry. It is kind of complicated and kind of redundant. There are little buttons at the top right of each poster's post that say helpful and solved and reply and email. You can award the post as either helpful or solved in addition to marking your whole question as solved. It takes a little getting used to but you'll see how it works.

Don't do that - flag the photo and go to the target event and use the add flagged photo to selected event command to move it intact within iPhoto

You can't import from the vault but you can restore that vault onto the MBP. This will restore the complete library that is contained in the vault.

I can give you a few ways to so:
First (and my favorite way) is the one said above. First, on the computer with the photos on it, you have to do is turn on file sharing (go to system preferences, sharing, file sharing) and have both computers on the same network. Second, have the computers you want the photos on, and launch finder. On the sidebar, there should be a "sharing" category, and below it should be the computer with the photos on it. Click on it, and you will be prompted for the computer username and password. It will then show all of the files on your computer. Then, just find the files, copy them (command-C) and paste them to where you want them! (If this confuses you, I can upload a video step-by-step on how to do this).
My second way is to use air drop. To start, Both computers must be on the same network. Then, on the computer with the photos on it select all of the photos you want to send to the other computer (you can select many photos by holding the command key and clicking on photos), right-click (control-click) on the selected photos, find the button share, and click air drop. On the computer you want the photos on, go to air drop on the side bar. You should see the name of the computer on the radar-looking screen. Click your computer. The photos should begin to download to the downloads folder. (This feature is only compatible with certain computers)

Besides, you don't hold down cmd/apple+"T" on the target computer - just the "T" key.

I have iphoto 6 and was wondering if I can move photos from one roll to another existing roll? When I moved photos from an external drive, photos that should have been lumped together ended up in different rolls so I'm trying to sort everything out. Is that possible?

Yes you can as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Using the View -> Film Rolls command, you'll see the Rolls in the iPhoto Window, and you can drag a pic to the Title of the target roll.
