How to move stock to previous period

Hello MM Experts,
We need to make an inventory adjustment for period 31/12/2008, however it is now 03/01/2009. Our Controller has not closed out 12/2008. How can we post it to the previous period/year of 31/12/2008??
That I want to move the stock from 03/01/2009 to 31/12/2008.

What Fiscal Year you are Using K4 or V3?
If ur using K4 then Reverse all the Posting and Repost again for Period 12.
If ur using V3 then Reverse all the Posting and Repost again for Period 10.

WM : How to move Stock available in Interim bin to normal bin

Hi...
I am doing MB1C using MType 561 to create some inventory of a material.
The stock gets incresed in plant / storage location at INV level but in WM it is lying at interim location of linked warehouse / storage type.
I did try to find out the TR number against which I can create / confirm TO to move inventory into normal BIN, but no TR is created for this transaction.In this regard I have two queries
1) I could find out one field in transaction where we linked Reference movement Type to WM movement type. In that field we can set whether we need to generate TR or not and for movement Type 561 is it set as DONT generate TR.
Is that the reason why TR was not generated ??
Since this is the standard SAP settings therefore wondering what could be the business logic behind it ??
2) My second query is .... since for this transaction , TR is not generated therefore how to move that inventory from INTERIM BIN to NORMAL BIN , I mean which Transaction I should use ??

Hi,
just check whether you followed these steps.If you follow, then system should create TR.
1) Make a new WM movement type 561.
2) Link it with IM movement type 561 by using a reference movement type.
3) Check an interim storage type 998 is present in the system.
4)Give 998 storage type in the 561 WM movement type detail.
5)Create a fixed storage bin in storage type 998 and assign this storage bin in the WM movement type 561.
6)DO mb1c & TR created.
7)Confirm the TO.

How to move stock from 916 to Open Area

I have stock in Storage Type 916 is 600 KG, in MB52 also to 600 KG
I want to move stock from storage type 916 to Open Area with TCode LT01
I have Message Erorr "E::000 Strg.Type : 916 to is not correct, please changed."

916 is the zone for goods issue to deliveries.
so the stock is probably allocated to a delivery.
You can unpick the quantity and move it back to any bin you want by using LT0G transaction.

Posting stock entry in previous period

Can anyone pls tell, whats the how to post stocks in previous period.? Eg: previous month or previous quarter.

In case, there is a need to update stock for previous period (Stock Transactions: Initial Quantities Stock Tracking and Stock Posting /Stock Posting List ) e.g. Update stock at 31/12/08 where there are stock movements within 2009, there is a System Message : Item quantities are not updated for initial entry of stock balances date, Update Now ?Yes , No, Cancel
How we activate this message, in case that does not appear?

When we display a meterial by MM03, under plant stock tab, in the last, there is description of 'Plant Stoicks in previous period'. When I see the field ' Unrestricted Use Stock', there is a value. When I press F1, it looks like its from MARD table, field VMLAB. But when I check the table, there is no value.Please suggest me the table & field name.I also tried the tables MBEWH, MARDH, MCHBH, but its no there. PLease suggest.

How to zero previous period stocks?

Hi MM gurus,
I want to activate batch management tick for existing materials which are not activated a batch management tick. To activate batch management tick it is needed to maintain zero stocks in current period and previous period.
Current period is not a problem. But how to zero previous period stocks?
Is there any way by posting a physical inventory adjustment to previous period? If so how to post a PI doc to previous period.
Please reply me ASAP.

You can do it with movement type 201.
Make sure that it is allowed to post to previous periods (MMRV transaction for MM- but as well in finnace needed)
if previous period stock is 50
and current stock is 100
then you just need to do a 201 with a date from previous period for 50 and a 201 for 50 in the current period.
but
if previous period stock is 50
and current stock is 20
then you need to do a 202 movement in current period for 30 followed by a 201 movement for 50 previous period

Stock in Transit quantity by batch for previous period

Hi all,
Is there any way to get the information of stock quantity for stock in transit by batch for previous period?
In standard SAP system, when the stock is issued with reference to STO with movement type 641, the stock will be stored in the system as stock in transit. As the stock is sit at plant level, the standard SAP report does not show what batch was issued.
I have a requirement to display stock value of previous period down to batch level. Hence, SIT of what batch of previous period should also be displayed.
Any idea of how this can done, or any workaround solution?

MB5T lists the difference between delivery goods issued and goods receipt to your POs, as so called virtual stock in transfer
MB52 lists the stock in transfer that had been done with inventory managment movements and was updated to MARC table.
you have to find the movements (use MB51) that posted the stock that you can see in MB52.

Logic for carry forward of previous stock to current period stock.

Client is using already MC.9 for see the stock analysis report, however as per there requirement we are exploring BOM as well as fetching quantity from table level as well. in my report I am experiencing difficulty to carry forward previous period closing stock quantity to current period stock quantiy, if there is no received for current period, however the same is happens in MC.9
Could any one tell me what is the logic behind MC.9 which is do carry forward previous period closing stock to current period stock quantity in report.
As per the requirement I am using S031, S032,S033, however unable to get logic for carry forward the previous month stock quantity to current month.

The last period closing stock = current period opening stock. You may get the details from MBEWH and S032 tables. Refer the doc: Material Stock and Valuation History tables - how to read them

Transfer material stocks to PCA for previous periods (1KEH)

I have an issue with 1KEH. We did not run the 1KEH(generate opening bal for material stocks) for period 2 . In SAP it looks like you can either run in for current period or previous period. (not 2 periods back).
I looked this up with SAP note 858363. I looked up forum replies for the same issue before. The basic solution mentioned was to use transaction 1KEL. To quote "To be able to successfully execute Transaction 1KEH again, you have to use transaction 1KEL and set the origin object type to 19."
Now from the same note there is a t code called 1KEC which can be used to do subsequent postings to PCA. I tried a test run. It seems to pick up what I want and do it correctly.
Can someone advice me if using 1KEC is feasible. If i have to use 1KEL it has to be done one item at a time and we have too many records. Also I am not too sure on how to do 1KEL.

I try to use MMPV to close MM period, error message is displayed "
Some materials have negative stocks for the previous period."
how to solve this problem and what cause this message? why system allow negative stock?

Hi
Negative stock means that for a material in your plant stock is 0 on current posting date but you still want to issue the material.
So in order to achieve this u need to activate the Negative stock for that material in material master and mark the setting of negative stock for the storage location.
