How to move thumbnail picture to album

I have tried to drag a thumbnail picture from the main photo library to one of my albums and it keeps bouncing back. I can move it to a newly created album and it works but not to a particular album where it want it to go. What am I doing wrong?
iMac   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Picture was already in album. Thanks for getting my brain in gear.

  • How to move all pictures, albums & tags from 1 computer to another.

Bought a new computer and don't want to lose all the work I did cataloging etc in Elements.  Need to copy all pictures (17,000) over as well as all the tags & albums etc in Element to the new computer.  Also, I am going from Elements 5 (Vista) on my old Computer to Elements 8 (Win 7) on my new PC.  What are the steps needed to do this?
Should I first copy all the pictures over to the new computer in a folder.
Then backup Elements 5 on the old computer.
Then copy the elements 5 backup file to the new computer and restore that file into Elements 8?

You need to use back-up and restore.

  • How to move NEF pictures in a folder on my desktop

    Hi all,
I'm new to mac and have been playing a bit with iPhoto and it really seems great. Here is my problem, I have a D90 which takes JPG and NEF pictures at the same time. When I import my pictures in iPhoto it puts both files next to each other. How could I move only my NEF files and keep the JPG in the event or album?
    Thanks,
    Rob

  • How to ''move'' the pictures in mac os x

I had windows before and when u open a picture in windows, u just press arrow key (right) and it moves to next picture. How can I do this in mac?
If i open the folder and view them in ''cover flow'' ( i think thats it) the pictures arent really big but in other way u cannot just move to next picture in full size without opening it in preview and close it again.
    takes a lot of time...
    any solution?
    i've got leopard.

You have to select the ones you want to view before opening one to view it. You can either just drag a selection or if you want to select all in a folder use cmd+a to select all then just tap on one and the viwer pops up but you have the other pictures loaded so you can skip next. It is annoying because i too got use to the way the windows viewer did it straight away.
As said above iphoto is the best way to go

  • How to move tracks from one album to another in itunes library?

I have imported an album from my 'Vuze Downloads' folder in my 'iTunes library' but it appears in the library as three seperate albums.
How to i get all the tracks into one album as they were meant to be?
    Cheers

Make sure all tracks have the same album name and same artist name (look under Get Info) in order for them to group together. If the album is a compilation with different artists, under Get Info, mark it as a compilation.

  • How to check usage picture in Albums vs Moments

Removing a picture in Moments could make Albums unmeaned incomplete. Better is to show the Albums at that moment.

In your Library every Photo is in a Moment. (Like iPhoto and Events)
So, remove a photo from a Moment and you remove it from everywhere.
Not sure what you are trying to ask here.

  • How to move some pictures folders outside library?

Because I've stopped iphoto to manage my files, but I've just processed so many photos, but I wish to maintain every pics in the same locations outside iphoto library to use also with Lightroom. But now I've over 200gb of pictures in my personal folder, but 13gb are duplicated inside iphoto library.
    May you help me?
    Thanks a lot
    Danilo
Deleting the folders and reimportings it's not possible because faces and locations I just typed.

I've tried... it mantains the geo informations, the name of files, but not the facies...
But it's just an 50% of the works!
    Thanks
if you have any other ideas... I'm here

  • Confused over photostream and I cloud, how to move my pictures

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2.  Apple store sold me cloud storage over a year ago as my phone needed to be replaced under warranty and I had to back up.  I paid to continue after the year was up.
I am horribly confused however as I apparently have 15GB storage I have paid for with 10.6GB available and yet I cannot change to iOS 7 as there isn't enough memory in my phone.
I have synced to iTunes and can't get to my photos which are in photo-stream.  Ideally I would like to take all of my photos in photostream and save them onto my PC but I don't know where they are in order to do this.
Any help much appreciated as I'm about to throw the lot out of the window having read what feels like the entire apple support community and getting more and more confused.
    Many thanks
    Lisa

As I think you have realised, you need space on your phone for the update.

  • How do I move my pictures from I-Photo albums to a usb drive?

I am trying to move my pictures (in albums) from my MacBook Pro I-Photo to a USB drive so that I can show them on my new digital frame.  How do I do it?  And I somehow lost my icon for I-photo on the bottom of my screen....

1 - select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder - mount the USB drive and drag that folder to it.  I usually use the export custom size option to limit teh photo to the maximum pixel dimension of the photo frame letting me have more photos on the USB drive
2 - to restore the iPhoto icon in the dock launch iPhoto from the Applications folder and right click on the icon in the Dock sleecting keep in Dock

  • Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.

Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.
Is there any way to re-number them in the order I have chosen so that they can then be sorted by number? The scans are all from pre-digital images that I wish to move to a photobook and I don't want to have to organise them twice!
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I was a bit short, Chris, sorry. It is limited, what can be posted, when typing on an iPad.
Now I am back on my Mac. I meant the following:  Batch Change the date for a large range of photos, that should have a date stepped in increments.
Select all Photos at once and use the command "Photos > Batch Change".
Then set the date for the first photo and select an increment, e.g. one minute.
Now all photos will get a new date assigned, incremented by one minute, in the sequence you have selected. So you will be able to sort them by date.  This way it will be unnecessary to change the titles or filenames.

  • I have ipad2 and would like to know how to move pictures in a designated album to creat a slideshow

I am having trouble making a slideshow within a designated album as I would like to move the pictures into a certain order.

You can't change the order of the photos in an album in the photos app once the album has been created. You would have to add the photos to an album in the order in which you want them to appear in the slideshow. Create another album and add the photos to the new album in the proper order that you want to use,
