How to move/transfer programs & data from Windows 7 laptop to new laptop with Windows 8.1

Purchased new laptop with Windows 8.1 (not my favorite OS) and need to transfer several programs and data from my old HP Laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate and 1 program from older HP Desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate.  How can I do this?

you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. You can also refer to the below shown link for further supporthttp://www.wikihow.com/Recover-Data-from-the-Hard-Drive-of-a-Dead-Laptop Please click on the link In order to Identify, Prevent, Diagnose & Recover from Drive Failures on HP Notebook Hard Drives & Solid State Drives :http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02876562.pdf    Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again  **Click the White Thumbs Up Button on the right to say Thanks**Make it easier for other people to find solutions by marking a Reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem. Thank You,GBL84Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

You need to sync the data from your old iPhone, to the computer via iTunes.  Once the data is on the computer, you then need to sync it to the new iPhone, also via iTunes.
http://www.apple.com/itunes/how-to/#video-sync - this is a link with a short video that teaches you how to sync your iPod / iPhone using iTunes
If you sycn with iCloud, you can also sync some of the data via iCloud.  This may not work for all you music, if it was not purchased via iTunes.

Does anyone know how to transfer my data from iphone to my new laptop?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
You need to copy everyhting from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

I bought a ipad 2. How do I transfer all my data from my "old" ipad to my new one before I sell it?

You should be able to do a backup of your old iPad via your computer's iTunes, and then restore your new iPad from that backup - depending on how much content you've got on the old iPad it may take a little while to backup and then restore. As the backup contains app's data/settings but not the apps themselves, I think that you need to have a copy of your apps on your computer's iTunes - if the restore can't install an app then it can't copy its settings/data.
When you're sure that the data has been copied over correctly then you can clear the old iPad via Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings

  • HT4527 How Do I Transfer My iTunes from PC to a New Laptop?

    Can anyone please help me?
I recently bought a new laptop and want to transfer my iTunes completely to my laptop from my old PC.
I do not have the 'consolidate' option in my iTunes, only 'turn on home sharing' or 'find album artwork'.
A step-by-step guide for dummies would be appreciated!!!
    Thankyou!

These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where your computer has died with no backup then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How can I transfer outlook data from Ipod to new hard drive?

My hard drive had to be replaced last week. Although my music was backed up by Norton 360, my Outlook contacts and calendar were not backed up. How can I transfer my data from my Ipod to my new hard drive? I am running Windowa XP, if that matters. Will a sync to Itunes destroy all my data on my Ipod?

You would need to enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer, then when you first sync you should get the option to merge the data.

  • How do I transfer all data from my old internal hard drive to a new internal hard drive

How do I transfer all data from my old internal hard drive to a new internal hard drive? I have an iMac with a 320gb internal HD that is full and I am replacing it with a 2tb internal drive. I have several external drives; 1 tb, 2tb and 3 tb. The 2 tb is being used for Time Machine. Do I have to buy an enclosure? If so, where would I get an inexpensive one?
I also want to partition the new internal drive for Windows, and I'm not sure how much space to use for that. I plan to use Windows to check my work in PowerPoint created on my Mac for clients on PCs.

Do you already have Time Machine making backups onto the 2TB drive? If so, after you get the internal drive replaced, boot up into the recovery partition (hold down ⌘R) and restore the latest Time Machine backup that you have onto the new internal drive.
I recommend always having two backups. I'd use SuperDuper to make a complete clone of your internal drive onto an external drive in addition to having the Time Machine backup.
Boot Camp is what is used to make partitions for Windows. How much space to allocate depends on how much space you expect Windows to use up based on how you plan to use it.

how do i transfer all data from 4s to 6 ?

If you have a computer with the current version of iTunes you can connect your iPhone 4s to your computer via the USB charging cable.  You would then Sync / Backup your iPhone 4s to that computer via iTunes.  After a successful backup is created you can then connect your iPhone 6 via the charging cable to the computer and iTunes and Restore that Backup to the new iPhone.  You can always download any Apps you have purchased at no charge.  If you don't have a computer / iTunes you can backup your iPhone 4s via WiFi and the Cloud.  Then you can download that Backup to your New iPhone.  This may be more difficult due to memory constraints on your iPhone.

I believe that when you boot your computer for the first time and you are following the onscreen instructions you are prompted whether you want to transfer data from an old mac or PC. If you click 'transfer from an old mac' and follow the onscreen instructions, this may work.
If you have already skipped this step you could use iCloud to transfer data. If you make sure that everything you want to transfer is synced in iCloud, this may also work.
