How to mulitplex control files with raid

I have installed 8i DB server on a HP proliant server machine. Raid 2 is configured on the server machine with windows OS, two hard disks are mirrored.
It is often recommended to multiplex conrol files and redo log files on multiple hard disk to protect from disk failure.
how can i do this, as i have 3 logical drives but all they are of same physical device.
multiplexing control files on different logican drives is same as keeping them in the same default folder.
Please help making things clear ?????

1. RAID is all about availability and is not a substitute for duplexing of control files or online redo logs.
2. It is better to have multiple physical drive (sets) on which to place copies of the control file and online redo logs. That way, any failure of the RAID or file system will still leave you with copies of these vital files.
3. If you only have logical drives, it is best to place copies on various logical volumes. This way, you are (at least) protected from file system failure, corruption, or accidental delete.

I want to test my backup by restoring the full backup of my production database on a separate test server.
I have taken following action for restore to test server:
•     Copy full backup to Test Server on same folder where it was in Production Server.
•     Copy parameter file to Test Server. (Edit control file location on it)

I want to run the command from java.So i am using the following code

That looks like it should work, but it doesn't.
I opened the PDF I had created from Word in Acrobat (X Pro). Went to File > Properties. Selected "Change Settings". I then enabled "Restrict editing...", set a password, set "Printing Allowed" to "none", "Changes Allowed" to "none", and ensured that "Enable copying of text..." was disabled.
I saved the PDF file, closed Acrobat, opened the PDF in Reader, and I was still able to select text and graphical objects.
I reopened the PDF in Acrobat, and the document summart still shows everything as allowed. When I click on "show details" (from File > Properties) it shows the correct settings.
Any ideas?

It appears that the directory for shell installation is not accessible from CI (TDMS execution server). Do the following -
Copy the entire Shell installation directory (having TPL files) temporarily to the CI app. server and maintain the path of this directory in the TDMS package.
Then execute the activity which is currently failing. Most probably it will finish successfully.
Now copy the DDLORA.TPL file from this directory to the original directory on the DB app server and continue with your exports.

That is a solution, but it really isn't viable.
It is sad that apple refuses to support this.
A simple example: Sitting somewhere with no signal and you want to share a file (photo) with your colleague or friend, who happens to be right next to you.
Or even if there is signal and you don't want to be paying fees or data charges.
Or you may be in a rehearsal studio and need to share that very important file and have no time to go outside and get signal and try to send the file, which then everyone else has to go outside and catch the signal and pay fees.
Anyway, I see that this is a dead end with apple, so I guess I will be back to carrying 2 phones around again.

How to save PDF file with predefined name?

I am new in LiveCycle Designer. I have a requirement to save a PDF file with predefined file name. When user clicks a "Save as PDF" button, the fillable form is saved with the name from the form fields (e.g. FormID_UserID_Timesstamp...)
I added a button (btnSavePDF) to the form (Control Type=Regular). Then I added an action with the Condition:"When button is clicked" and the Result: "Save the form". I got the JavaScripts it genreated:
CoverPageForm.FormPage.btnSavePDF::click - (JavaScript, client)
app.execMenuItem("SaveAs");
When I tested it in Adobe Acorbat XI, I have option to save it as .pdf or other file formats. My questions is how can I save it with the predefined file name as a .pdf file, instead user has option to change the file name or change the file format? Can app.execMemuItem() method take other parameters?

You can't do it with app.execMenuItem. You can use the doc.saveAs method, but it has to be executed in a privileged context. For your application this means a folder-level JavaScript file that would have to be installed on each user's machine or with code in a certified PDF that the users chooses to trust to allow for privileged JavaScript execution.

Hi, you can use the OMF feature of ORACLE to move the controlfile into the ASM.
1. you create a backup controlfile: ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO '/home/oracle/control.bac';
2. you specify the locations:
- ALTER SYSTEM SET db_create_online_log_dest_1='+ASMGROUP1'; -- RMAN will restore one mirror of the controlfile in each of these locations!
- ALTER SYSTEM SET db_create_online_log_dest_2='+ASMGROUP1';
ALTER SYSTEM SET db_recover_file_dest='+ASMGROUP1'; -- this will make RMAN restore the controlfile in the flash_recovery_area!
3. you create a pfile from spfile:
- CREATE PFILE FROM SPFILE;
4. you archive the current redolog:
- ALTERSYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG ALL;
and SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE
5. you edit the pfile by removing the entry for CONTROL_FILES!!!
- and after this: CREATE SPFILE FROM PFILE;
6. you use RMAN to restore the controlfile in the ASM:
RMAN> STARTUP NOMOUNT;
RMAN> RESTORE CONTROLFILE FROM '/home/oracle/control.bac';
RMAN> ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;
RMAN> RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE;
RMAN>ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;

How to send multiple files with it's original name over HTTPS using one CC?

I am working on a File to HTTPs scenario. It is in production and working fine. Currently we send only one file and I have hard coded the name in the communication channel in the header fields. Now we have to send more files with different names and I want to use only one receiver channel instead of many. We need to send the files with their original names.
I used the ASMA in the sender File Adapter and I see the FileName in the dynamic configuration under http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File name="FileName".
I know we can use a UDF in message mapping and get the value and put it in HEADERFIELDONE. But we don't want to use mapping as the files are huge and we don't want to insert XML tags in the payload.
So how do I put the Filename from the DynamicConfiguration to the HTTP header field as FileName without using mapping? Are there any settings?
Can I put something in the PROLOG or can I use any other module in the File Sender Adapter or is there any other option?
Any help is appreciated.

You have to put the configuration in sender channel, as HTTP adapter does not allow modules.
For the second module, put values related to HTTP adapter.

How do I share my files from my pc to my imac and viceversa? I have been through everything I know to do. My pc is a win 7 home premium and i can share my itunes libraries just fine, but when i try to conect to pc from mac it says There was a proplem connecting to the server Mitch-pc, Also when on my pc it does not see the mac at all and I have file sharing turned on in the imac with smb checked. Any Ideas?

How to run .exe files with Virtual PC for Mac

Hey Guys, I'm new around here and with mac technology as well. Anyway, I have an iMac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard and I've recently purchased the Virtual PC for Mac 7.0.2 software. So I'd like to know how to use this program properly, because I need to run some executable files in my computer. It is confusing for me because I don't know how to get started, and I only get to the part when it says "OS not found, Install an OS on this hard drive".
Honestly I've no idea of what an OS is or where do I get that. So I'd really appreciate if one of you guys could tell me, step by step, what to do to use Virtual PC properly, and finally learn how to run .exe files on mac.

This brings up the second part of your problem. The first part is setting up either a proper Virtual Machine program like Parallels or VMfusion, or setting up a Boot Camp partition on your drive.

OS stands for Operating System. You are running Leopard 10.5.7 as an operating system on your Mac (MacOS X).
The second part of your problem - You will need a copy of Windows XP or Vista if you want to run Windows on your Mac.
There is at least one other solution for running Windows programs on a Mac. It's called "CrossOver" by a company named 'Codeweavers'. It's based on a project for "Wine" to be able to run PC programs on a Mac or Linux, without having to buy or install Windows. It works with a narrow subset of Windows programs so you would want to make sure the program you want to run is compatible with CrossOver before you buy it.

In addition to all the above information, you need to upgrade your Mac to the latest 10.5.7 from 10.5.1. "Software Update" is located under the black Apple icon in the Menu Bar at the top left corner of your monitor. With your level of experience with MacOS X and the Windows OS's you should probably get some help from a local Apple store. They have an appointment system and do offer many types of help and training, and they can offer assistance with choosing the proper programs for you to purchase for your machine.
